who sent you the notice that the itinerary was changed?
I did'nt get anything:confused3
I booked through DU, should they notify us of the itinerary change?

The notice came from DCL. I booked through DU, too, but they didn't have anything to do with the notice, as far as I can tell.

Getting so excited! We have our Venice and Florence hotels booked for our pre-cruise touring. Now just waiting for Disneyland Paris to let me book those dates. They are only booking through the end of March. Clearly, the Europeans are not as anal about booking ahead of time as I am, lol.

I hear you on the day before not really being that much of a difference. Though, if we're on a Disney excursion, maybe it won't matter much. With the traffic situation, that might be a time I wouldn't want to do it on my own. I'm kind of paranoid about getting left somewhere! Though, if I must be left somewhere, Monte Carlo wouldn't exactly suck.

I would post the new sailings...but I think ours were thrown away by accident...I just assumed they'd change the itinerary online at Disney..hmm..I'll go check and post it here...uh oh, can't find the right ressie number, I went through making 4 to keep changing our plans to two rooms..alas..but I'm pretty sure it should have changed on the planning site.

Great news on your bookings sabre!! My kids will love hearing about Disneyland Paris from yours!! :)

You can usually book the summer season from sometime in December, if you want to stay onsite.
Or you can do any other hotel in the region via bookings.com (or whatever you prefer) from 11 months out. Most of the hotels in the area have shuttle service to the parks.

We haven't decided if we're going to do a couple days of DLRP before the cruise, I am kinda tired of it, but we're driving down, so it could be a good stopover. No time on the way back, as the kids have to be back in school on May 17th.

just booked this cruise with the great cat 12 price. staying 2 nights before and 1 night after the cruise.

Just switched from the Dover/Barcelona July 2010 to this one and saved nearly $5000 with the kids cruise free deal!
Will be travelling solo with my three sons. :thumbsup2

Welcome Goofy Mum and Pluto!!! I have to say a HUGE thanks to Goofy Mum for posting about her deal!! She saved me 3k!! She alerted the boards that she got kids sail free AND the 999 per person...I went online at Disney and was able to do the same thing!! Originally, I had only booked kids sail free and it was costing 7k...but with the new deal on cat 12's...our trip is only 4k!!! YAHOO!! That also means my trip insurance will go down!! This just gets better all the time!! :)

It also makes me not feel so bad about going ahead and booking our tour for Amalfi coast!! :)

YES!!
Thanks guys!

ha ha, you're very welcome! You can buy me a gelato in Roma!! :cool1:

We are in a Cat 6 I think. What are the 12's like? We have never cruised before can you tell ha? Anyhoo I made a little group on FB too if you search for the cruise and date so we can connect more. If that is a no no to post on here I apologize and will remove it.

just posted a couple days ago that i booked this cruise. well now the may 26 cruise came up at the great cat 12 price, so i just booked it. so now i wont be on this cruise.

Pluto! Glad you got your date! I meant to send you a post to keep trying, they open up each day...several times I tried and said no availability then they would open again...so glad you got it!

Lemonbee! Yeah! I'll join the Facebook group!! We are so excited, on my trip report (Mediterranean Madness) I have copied and pasted comments from various travelers that appealed to what our family wanted to do...it helps me to plan to take a heads up from someone who's been there done that! They were pretty cruel on Tunis! :) I am spending most my excursion money on Naples, I don't think we'll even leave the boat there! :)

Looking for y'all on FB! :)

Paid in full, baby!!!! Whoo-hoo!!! Now I can really start planning, lol. I must admit, after seeing some of the awesome cat 12 prices people are getting, it was hard to make the final payment on our cat 4. We did get the 20% off deal and have close to $1000 in OBC, so it wasn't a bad price all things considered, but wow, some of the recent deals have been amazing. My mom really wants the verandah though, and I kind of do too for this cruise. *shrug* Its my daughter's first time to Europe, so I don't mind splurging.

Now, on to the shore excursions! I really like that they have things designed for families and some half-day adventures. My then 4-year old can only take so much!

Yay! We're paid also but didnt get much of an OBC Just $25 from DCL. I tried to transfer my reservation but was only offered $75 so I stayed at DCL.
Im travelling alone with three young boys so Im not booking excursions. Im just doing the ports on my own. Im pretty familiar with Italy.
SO excited I can't stand it. Join us on FB. Theres a group for the folks on this cruise. "Disney 10 Day Mediterranean Cruise May 5-15 2010"

sabrecmc, I'm not doing any of the Disney excursions. I feel I could to my own thing much much cheaper as Im travelling on my own with a 5, 8 and 12 year old I didnt want to invest in expensive excursions that would limit us. I'm not sure how my 5 year old will handle doing tours but I'm planning on doing an open bus tour in Rome (CHEAP) and then walking around myself. :thumbsup2

I think it is fabulous to do it on your own, and were it just me, I would probably do that. I lived in Europe for awhile and have traveled Europe extensively, so would have no problem with it. But, with my 4-year old and my 60-year old mom, I'm more comfy with the Disney excursions.

The prices seem overall pretty reasonable to me ($50-100 pp for most of what we want...for guide, transportation, lunch (sometimes), entrance fees...considering the dollar is in the toilet, that's not bad to me). I priced out the excursions I was interested in for my daughter and myself and it came to about $1100 total for the both of us. With my OBC, its pretty much paid for.

I don't think Disney is offering much that you couldn't do on your own and probably for less, especially with 3 kids, but I'd just rather let someone else handle the logistics this time around. I want to relax and enjoy myself and not think about which train to take or what bus to catch (actually, I think I still have some of those memorized from my last Italian vacation!) or where the ticket window is or...blah, blah, blah. Just put me on an air-conditioned bus and take me where I want to go! I don't mind paying a premium for that. We'll go back. I'm not trying to see everything.

Sabremc...my girls LOVE your daughter's name! They are huge CS Lewis fans and love the whole Chronicles of Narnia series....I think they've read the stories 5x over..I'm assuming Aslan is from that? That's not a bad deal at all for total excursions! When I try to price them for 7 people, eek it's more like $1000 per day....ouch! I can't wait to hear how all the excursions go, wish we could all sit at one big table for dining and share events from the day! :)

I'm an early riser, so if anyone wants to go on early walks with me, you're welcome to! :) I like seeing the ship empty and watching the sunrise...bring your walking shoes :)

Tara

Thanks Tara! I love her name too. I decided on it back when I was around 7 or 8 and she got stuck with it. It suits her though. She's my little lion for sure!

7 people??? Yikes! That would definitely get cost prohibitive!

I think you might have the decks to yourself, given how few people seem to be on this cruise. I'm sure it will book up closer to travel, but geez. My 2011 cruises have tons more people!
