Has anyone discussed pre-cruise hotels yet? We are considering a few days early to go to disney for flower and garden show DH is a photography nut so loves the opportunity for photos. However, since we are going for almost 2 weeks in January I am not sure I can get him there again so was considering hotels near Port Canaveral.

I'm not sure what we are going to do. We are hoping to do 5 days at WDW either before or after. I've seen pros and cons of both but figure I have some time to decide! If we do it after, I would imagine we will just fly in early on the 4th and take the DCL bus to PC from the airport.

Good morning all.

Have been considering this cruise on and off for awhile.

We did our first cruise on disney back in 2005 and have done about 8 carnival cruises since but we are celebrating our 25th anniversay and mortgage burning so figured I wanted to check out the new ship.

Been to WDW more times then I can possibley count and going back in January but I guess I need to get my ticker added to my signature.

We are Kim will be uugghhh 47 and DH Mike will be 50 when we cruise. Not bringing the kids. They are right now 22 and 19 so they can stay home :)
Plus I am the disney fanatic in the family, DH always says he comes along to carry the suitcases but I think I have converted him:thumbsup2

Look forward to going back and reading up on everyone and seeing what is different from when I last cruised with Disney.

For those who have cruised recently are you still allowed your own alcohol on the ship? DO they automatically add the tips yet or do you still have to have them added to your card?

Kim

Kim and Mike!!

Hi Everyone......Some bad news....we are out of this cruise......We have moved our cruise up two weeks....Dw wants to cruise by way of SAN JUAN. Hope You All have a great cruise.

Sorry to see you leave us. Hope you have a great time cruising to San Juan!

Haven't really decided yet on where we'll be staying or when we'll be getting into Cape Canaveral. We may go down a couple of days early or stay a few days later - but we plan on visiting Kennedy Space Center and then going into Orlando to maybe visit a park and definitely get to DTD :cool1:. Last time we were there we stayed at the Radisson near the port and have no complaints. Rooms were nothing spectacular, but would stay there again, if the price is right. We were only there one night and didn't use the pool - but it was really nice looking. I've also heard good things about Country Inn, as well as Residence Inn.

BTW - love your name - Hockeychic -- we're a big hockey family :thumbsup2

Thank you for the welcome!!!

Ya not sure what we will do I know for sure we will be in 1 day early always afraid of flying the THAT day. However, completely forgot about Kennedy, we have been there once and I know DH would love to go again so might get him in even earlier :) I think I prefer my disney stay pre-cruise after a relaxing cruise I would prefer to just head home.

I have heard about the Radisson might stay there but will depend on if we have a vehicle or not. Might stay up in Titusville, we stayed at a comfort inn there a few years back and it was quite nice and cheap:thumbsup2

I hope you all don't mind as you can see I am a bit off a chatter ::yes::

We are also huge hockey fans but alas my beloved leafs continue to stink it up each year so my go to team is the Pens but since they are now gone, I am cheering for the Rangers tonight. Althought I think LA is going to win it all would love to see Jersey win so Marty can get one final ring

I might be able to keep up with you in the chatter department :rotfl:

I feel your pain regarding stinky hockey teams -- ours is the Hurricanes :rolleyes1 We too had been rooting for the Pens (DH is formerly from Pittsburgh)
But, I am formerly from NY and although I was an Islanders fan when I grew up there (another ridiculously bad team) - I am now rooting for the Rangers as well. We're hoping for an LA/Rangers final - think that would be a good series :thumbsup2

Oh good cause I hate to chatter to myself......:lmao::goodvibes

Agreed that would be a great series. Will be watching tonight for sure.

I have alot of research to do on Disney cruises it has been since 2005 since I have been on DCL and funny thing is it is the same ports. I hope I am able to get Palo for brunch that was awesome last time we did it....oh wait does Fantasy have Palo? Brunch was $10 each and I am sure it has gone up since 2005 but worth every nickle.

Have a great Saturday all!!!

I think I will go back and read up on all the old posts while I drink my tea cause as soon as I get off the laptop it will be time for housework and just not ready for that yet today:coffee::laundy:

OK all caught up!!!!!

Glad to see are aren't the only ones cruising without kids. Our friends all think we are nuts when we tell them we are going to disney by choice not cause the kids wanted to go.

One year we flew out of Buffalo so at the boarder the guy asked us where we were going? I said disney and he looked in the back seat and asked where the kids were:lmao: Told him at home....he just said OK have a great trip with a weird look on his face:confused3

Does disney still do a Pirates Theme night? Do they still do fireworks?

Geee I need to go do some research but right now laundry is calling so will sneak back on later:goodvibes

No kids, well people under 18, here. We are big kids ourselves! You'll see me in line to get pictures with the characters :rotfl:

They still do Pirate night and the fireworks. I'm pretty sure thats the night after St. Maartin for us.

Palo is still on the Fantasy and we are planning on doing brunch as well. We also want to do dinner in Remys, the new adult restaurant. Can't wait!!:woohoo:

I keep telling people I will never grow up being a adult is no fun.

I also do the photos with the characters:goodvibes

Well house clean, 2 of about 100 loads of laundry done. Flowers planted and now off to get a few more cause we usually buy to many but this time not enough, groceries and I think that is it for me today.

I have a 10K race tomorrow that I have not trainned for so will take it slow but still has to be done:woohoo: Oh wait DH just reminded me the classic car show is tonight so off to drool over a 68 Camero.

Kim

Oh was so sorry to see the hawks go down this year. They are a team I can cheer for. Was thrilled they won the cup awhile ago.

Good luck on your 10K!!

Yay! More hockey fans! I don't think I need to say who my team is...

So, are we all going to be sitting around a TV next year, in one of the bars, watching the playoffs? :happytv:

Thanks!!!!

I have only ever had luck finding a hockey game on a cruise ship and it was during the winter olympics a few years ago and it was like Sweden and Finland or something like that but we needed a hockey fix. Everyone who stopped by said to us ....oh you guys must be Canadian....:lmao:

Just got home watching the game now, resting up for tomorrow.

Have a great night all and a early Happy Mothers Day to all the moms:flower3:

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!
Just to think, 1 year from now, it'll be Mother's Day again, and we'll be home doing laundry fresh off the cruise.... well, the end of the cruise isn't the happiest thing to think about, but at least we're only 51 weeks away now!!!!

Hi all ... Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms :)

Two questions: We're on the Fantasy East Car in August and was trying to figure out when too book ressies..

Castaway: when we booked it asks you to pick a time. We clicked on 10 .. but it came back w/a conf from 10 - 11?? Really, you're suppose to snorkel, bike and relax in an hour?? Are we looking at it wrong?

Remy: Is is worth it? We've enjoyed Palo very much in the past, don't know how new rest is? I've searched the threads but couldn't find much (in a quick manner anyway :) ). Tx!

Good evening fellow cruisers!!!!

Got my 10k done today, had a great time shaved over 14 mins off my previous time. Unfortunately a woman collaped at the finish like they are saying she was in her early 20's very sad just hope she is going to be ok.

I think I am getting information overload, some things are so different with DCL then other cruiselines I have cruised on and different then when I cruised DCL in 2005 good think we have just under a year :)

Hope all the mom's had a great day.
