Not sure if I have posted yet on this thread. I may have posted on the other one that is out there. We did book the Walt over 2 years ago (one year wait listed)... I can't believe how fast the time has gone. This is our 7th Disney Cruise and our last for a long while so we decided to make it a good one.

Hey, enjoy the Walt!! I am happy that one of our fellow DISers was able to get it! :woohoo:

Given that this is our schedule:

Sunday, May 4, 2008 Key West 11:30-7:30
Monday, May 5, 2008 At Sea
Tuesday, May 6, 2008 Grand Cayman 7:30-4:30
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 Cozumel 9:30-6:30
Thursday, May 8, 2008 At Sea
Friday, May 9, 2008 Castaway Cay 9:30-5:00
Saturday, May 10, 2008 Port Canaveral

Can someone please (pretty please!) spell out for me when the first formal night is, when pirate night is, and when the second formal night is? And then which formal night is Lobster night (1st or 2nd)?

Thank you so much in advance ... I am afraid of the yawns and groans I'll get on the regular board. :goodvibes

Derp ... dang no email notifications ...

I'll just sit here and talk at myself. :goodvibes

Anyway, I finally figured out my above question (duh, had been trying to do a search that wasn't working, and then it dawned on me that I should really check the most recent Navigators and that would help ... derp!).

Can't believe I actually made Palo ressies last night! And no 3 am garbage either (I'm on EST). :woohoo: Think I made them around 1 am or so. Made a brunch ressie too, but hubby is not that into brunch, so I don't know that I'll actually get to keep it. :( Maybe I'll drag a random stranger and make that person be my date! As mentioned, Palo went up to $15 pp for both brunch and dinner. I didn't bother with the High Tea. Oh, and as if they'd run out, you'll also be happy to know that I secured my floaty mats for Castaway Cay. And, note to self: you do not need to get the floaty mats at the family beach and then schlep them down to the adult beach (yes, I learned that lesson the hard way on the last cruise ... :rolleyes1 ).

Linda,

Unfortunately, we're booked a bit later :( We have the encounter at 1 and then I am doing the Royal Swim at 2.

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone booked the Royal Dolphin swim? I am a bit nervous booking a non disney excursion at Cozumel....

Brian

Brian,

My friends and I have booked the Royal Swim. I didn't want to just do the encounter, which is the only one offered by Disney....I want the whole experience. I have heard nothing but good about the Park, and about getting there and it seems like it is pretty easy to do. I know that there are others of us on this thread headed out to Chankanaab throughout the day, so I can only assume that there is safety in numbers....LOL.

I think the biggest issue it to make sure that you are aware of the time and that you know what time the ship leaves. As long as you are back on board you should be fine.

Linda

I just authorized my TA to make our final payment, so it's official! :yay: I can't wait to log on and reserve my Palo brunch (12AM sharp on 2/3...correct?)

I have still been unable to log in to the Castaway Club section of the DCL website. It doesn't recognize my CC number! Does anyone else have that problem? It won't prevent me from making the early ressies, will it?

How did you make your ressies so early? I thought it was 90 days out!

Hi Bobbi, I didn't need my CC number to make our Palo reservations. Right now, I have Palo brunch on Monday and dinner on Thursday, but I'm waffling on that. We're splurging in a Cat 3, so got to book 105 days out with the REAS folks. I am not sure what time the bookings open. I am on EST and I was able to book somewhere around 1 am. That was the first time I checked, so I'm not sure if bookings opened up earlier. I seem to remember our last Disney cruise, bookings didn't open till about 3am EST?

Thanks Jodie!

Enjoy Cat 3! I've read that it's supposed to be 3AM EST (I'm in Maryland) but that folks on the east coast have been able to get on at midnight. Did you start trying earlier than 1 AM?

Nah, I didn't try booking earlier. I was oblivious figuring out formal night, Master Chef night, Pirate Night, and Capt.'s Night. I didn't even realize it was 1 am, and I happened to try and got right in. I would start at midnight. Good luck! :goodvibes

I booked the romance package and I was able to book my reservations at 105 days. It opens at 12 am on the East coast- I was logged in at 12:07 am and of course there was plenty to choose from at this time. This is my first cruise and I'm so excited. Good luck getting the ressie you want.

Jodie- I'm also doing the brunch on Monday. Hope to see you there- Sue

Monday is my first choice for Palo brunch as well! Hope there's room left in a week and a half!

Hi all,

My mom and I have decided we will do Chankanaab on Cozumel and do it on our own. Much less expensive to just pay for the taxi and park entrance fee on your own.

On Grand Caymen, we are doing a Stingray City tour and I think we will use Captain Marvins. Heard lots of good comments about them.

I would love to do brunch at Palo. That would be better than dinner to me. I so hope we at least have a chance to try either brunch or dinner on this cruise. Since we are first timers, I am guessing I will have to try to get ressies at the port once we board. I also need to get my mom and dads dining changed to early so we can all eat together, so I will be a woman on a mission. :rotfl:

Only 3 months to go. Time is flying. I still haven't lost that weight I was planning to lose a year ago for the cruise.

I did Captain Marvins last May cruise that I went on. It was UNBELIEVABLE! The highlight of our trip. It was easy to find and they were so nice.

I know you will love Palos brunch. You have a good chance of getting a ressie if you can't get it online just try to book it as soon as you get on board.

I am with you and losing weight. We have 3 months:)

I am looking for cheap airfare, not much luck

Heather

It sounds like we'll be tailing each other throughout the trip! We plan on doing Chankanaab on our own as well, and Stingray City with Captain Marvins too! We want him to drop us off at the Turtle Farm after. My boys are nuts about Turtles (the 43 YO as well as the 5 YO).

Give the advanced Palo ressies a shot. I think our cruise is pretty full, but on our cruise last January, we didn't even book it 75 days ahead and I was able to get my first choice for Palo reservations online, so you never know!

Good luck with the weight loss!:thumbsup2

Hi all,

I was really happy to find this thread! DH and I will be booking this cruise soon (:scared1: We haven't booked yet!) and I was so happy to see that there will be lots of other couples there as well with no kids.

We love Disney, I am a travel agent, and this will be our first cruise.

I have to wait to book because I'm waiting on my travel agent identification card to come in.

We were originally booked on the Feb. 23 Western but because of change of jobs, etc, we had to postpone. It was so horrible getting that Welcome aboard package in and knowing that we wouldn't be on the ship.

But, from what I can see, this one is available and affordable at this point! So, I look forward to getting to know you guys. :cheer2:

Hello, everyone! Our family (that's me, mom, and dad) will be joining you all. We've never actually done a Western before. We always end up on the 7-night+ cruises, so I'm not sure we'll be ready to get off the ship on the 10th :(

Time to get ready for the February 3rd online ressie rush!
