May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Pirate Night should be Wed., 5/7, Cozumel Day, according to the most recent Western Navigators. I'm thinking Sunday is the night for Palo Dinner, since I don't want to miss any of the special menus or dress up nights! I don't even know if I'll be able to get Palo dinner reservations, since I'm going for brunch first (which wasn't available on our first cruise, a 3 nighter) and I don't know if there will be any dinner ressies left by the time I'm done.

Happy Chanuchristmakwanzaa from another mixed up and lovin' the season family!

We also have all of our excursions booked privately in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It is nice to know that this portion of our cruise is completely paid for and done!

We have our hotel booked for the night before....a 2 BR suite at the Residence Inn. Again, it is nice to know that this is taken care of already.

We received our Welcome Back Aboard packet and are now getting really excited!

We had our traveling companions over for dinner on Saturday and watched the DCL special that we TIVO'ed from the Travel Channel. My friend Karen has never cruised and never been out of the country before. She was very skeptical about taking a "Disney" cruise, but now that she has seen my pictures and the special she is more excited than ever.

I am really antsy and simply cannot wait for May 2 (the day we begin the drive down) to get here!!!!

We only have to survive this pesky winter and then we'll be on our cruise!!!

Well, I finally got travel insurance for this cruise (Travelex), booked the first night at Country Inn and Suites, bought plane tickets (Frontier and United on the way back), and told my travel agent... who immediately offered to try and get a better rate on my hotel rooms. *eyes twinkling* He tut-tutted my prices and offered to to help out with saving something. He's a nice guy. :thumbsup2

I think DH is just resigned to the inevitable. I keep asking him if I am spending too much (because the plane tickets royally busted the budget, but I'm got nervous about waiting any longer) and he just says ok, go ahead and do it. He's the type who just wants to show up when he's told to. :rotfl:

Ok, I have to get to work. Have a great day, everyone!

Budget, what budget?! :guilty: We're terrible budgeting when it comes to vacation. We did get our outbound airline tickets for $59 each, and had a $40 credit, so that was good. But, we are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel for 5 nights prior to the cruise, and that, well, let's just say that didn't HELP the budget! :lmao: We are Universal AP holders, so at least we already have park tickets!

Thanks for the info re: Pirate Night. We were upset that we missed it last time and of course couldn't change our Palo reservation once on board. Brunch is not to be missed. Will have to drag hubby kicking and screaming though; he's not exactly a morning person. :goodvibes

Just got my "Welcome back aboard" packet  I was getting so envious of all of you posting that you'd already gotten yours; I was starting to wonder, "Where's mine?" It starts to make it seem really real.

Does anyone know if you have to do anything special to get the 6 months 0% interest for paying with your Disney Rewards Visa? We paid the deposit with it, and will be paying off the balance next month, and I want to make sure we get the deal. Also, we still get our Disney Rewards Dollars if we do that, don't we?

Do you use that card for anything OTHER than the Disney cruises? Because any payment you make goes first to the 0% portion on that card, versus normal charges. Therefore, if you carry a balance, that's a real pain.

However, if you're like me any only use that card for Disney cruises, then the cruise getting charged to your card shows up as a balance at 0% interest on your statement.

The 25-50 dollar on-board credit comes about if you charge the deposit and the balance to your Disney card and ONLY use your Disney card to pay for your cruise fare.

Hope that helps!

Just got back off the Wonder! Yes, and I am ready to go back already.

Can't wait till our next cruise!

Hi all,

We got our packet too. What fun! We are staying at the Radisson at the port for the night before. Anyone else gonna be there? Only 4 months and 2 weeks till we leave. Woohoo!:cool1:

Hey everyone! I haven't posted in a few months. We're getting excited...got our info packet this week. Booked our flights last week. I totally splurged & we're going first class!!! :cool1: Got a great deal...all 3 of us in first class for $1300 RT, so how could I not?

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be on here a lot more as it's getting closer! So exciting!!

Woohoo, Heather! That's awesome!!!

We got our info packet, and DH's deciding on the tux he wants. He's thinking of a mandarin collar.

*wave*
Brandie

My dh owns a tux. However he lost a bunch of weight & it was too big for him...but now he's put some back on again, maybe it will work?! LOL :lmao:

Holy cow! Have you guys checked out the prices for our cruise lately??? My cruise price is up over THREE GRAND! :cool1:

Dawn: THANK YOU for getting me on the cruise with you! :thumbsup2 I'm still working on getting to sit with you for dinner.

Happy Holidays, everybody!!!
Brandie

I should be baking cookies for Santa tonight & here I am online planning for my cruise!! Merry Christmas! :santa:

Heya, so anyone want a laugh? I altered my 4 day cruise ticker to be my 7 day ticker for this cruise... and got the ship's name wrong! I just NOW noticed it. :rotfl2: Now I can't figure out how to fix it! :rotfl:

Brandie

ETA: Got it! Just had to completely redo the ticker... then redo my signature... :)

Ok so it has been FOREVER since I have posted anything. Life has just been SO crazy. Just after Thanksgiving, the year of Disney continued with our week+ trip to WDW. Two weeks later we went BACK to FLA to stay with my parents for a week. And in 5 glorious days, we're back to Disney for our probably last :( long adventure to WDW for a really long time. OK, so we've been there like 5 times in the past 9 months. So, who's counting? Sheesh. :rotfl2:

I did get my packet, but haven't had time to breathe what with all our November/December adventures (my mom is surprised I still have a job, ha ha). And that doesn't even include the one in 5 days. JUST finished packing for that one. Disney in January is vastly different (weather) than Disney in September. I do know as a Castaway Club member, we can make our final payment like Feb 2nd or something so that we can book Palo and excursions. I'll be up bright and early to get that done although I still haven't figured out exactly what we're doing other than I'm sending DH off to the Tulum ruins in Cozumel. Maybe I"ll bring the cruise book down and make definite decisions on the airplane ride down. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday and hope everyone has a Happy New Year. I'll try to get posting more. Just haven't had the time to do it. Plus, I start a new job on Feb 1 (same company) so I"m trying to gear up for that too. Lord, there just isn't enough time in the day. Be well all!!!

Dawn McG

Dawn, the new job won't make you have to go into the office, will it?

Brandie

Actually, it will, but I'm okay with that. I knew at some point I'd have to go into an office again (after working from home for the past 9 yrs or so)...and the alternative in NJ is anywhere from 80-90 miles...where I'm going is 35 miles, an awesome opportunity and a more money. :cool1: So, those 3 far outweigh me staying at home. Plus, I will be able to work from home sometimes...just not every day.

Oh, and by the way...I had my night before room booked already. Just booked the airfare on Spirit ($635 for the four of us). We're coming in on the 2nd and going home on the 11th. We have that 'free' day at Disney still coming to us so on the 10th we'll drive back from the port and do SeaWorld (since we get in there for nothing) and then spend the 11th at Magic Kingdom. Got the one-way car rentals booked too...we get a discount through AVIS at work, but I usually keep checking rates and often call with my, I work for AT&T, have AAA, belong to BJs Wholesale Club...which is the best discount. So other than booking excursions & Palo (oh, and paying the balance, gag) we're good to go!
