May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Three last things...

I must sound like the worst travel agent, but, I've previously been researching another date of the Western until now. Are we on the Magic or the Wonder?

And, does anyone else have Facebook? (Facebook.com) I am a member, and it would be really fun to start a "group" if anyone was interested, then we could share pictures later.

Last of all, Fish Extenders... is anyone doing them?

To answer that question, the Wonder is the 3 and 4 day trips and the Magic is the 7 days. That is how you know which boat. ;)

You at least found the right place to research so you become a wonderful travel agent and you will know all about DCL.:thumbsup2

Hello Everyone!! I am cruising with y'all! I can't believe that the payment is almost due...boy this year flew by! We booked on board last year.

Can you believe that 3 parties on this ship cruised together last year!! Justthe8ofus & my2princessgirls....we cruised together April28,07!! What's the chance of that happening?!?!?

I have only read to page 7 so i have some catchin' up to do! Has anyone made a roll call list of everyone yet? I did it last year but I can't do it this year....I am so overwhelmed with life right now! I have to catch up on meetup news, etc.

It will be me (32), DH (37), DD (5.5) and DD (2.9). We are from California and freezing right now! How funny that we are cruising the last cruise in Florida before it comes here! I would never pay to cruise the Mexican Riviera on Disney....gotta have the Disney island!!

This will be our 3rd cruise in 3 years. We love Disney with the little ones and vacation no other way.

I have to start door signs, figuring out the schedule, start shopping, etc. Yikes! I don't know if it's excitement or anxiety setting in!

Glad to be onboard!

Kym

thanks, I just love getting mail that is not a bill....I actually went on the Disney website and could not find the list of excursions. I will look again tomorrow.
GoodNight

I actually bought Birnbaum's guide to the Disney Cruise Line. It was about $15 and I really like how they give a run down of who liked each excursion, what was too hard for little ones, etc. It was updated at print time, might be a little outdated, but is really very helpful! :hippie:

Hey! I can't believe you are freezing in California!!!!!!!! We are in Canada now. Sometimes I don't know why we live here... :rotfl:

Anyway, I just joined up and I am not sure if anyone did a roll call, but that would be a great idea. I would like to see a rundown of everybody.

Ooooooooo..... and no one has responded if they have Facebook yet. That might help us get used to face. :goodvibes

Hi,

We were on the Western in May 06 as well. I think it was May 6th. Were you on that one? It would be funny if we were on two of the same cruises:)
On May 6 2006 cruise my son had just turned 3. In keywest we did the conch tour, he thought it was boring. In GC we did stingray tour and he loved it. Mexico we did Paradise beach on our own. It was GREAT.. Just a nice beach day:) He went to camp at CC for half the day which he loved...
We had a great cruise with him when he was 3. I guess the only aggravating part would be that he fell asleep early. He also could not swim in the goofy pool with his older sister so we had to split to watch both kids. As you can tell we loved it bacause we booked another while onboard....
Heather NJ

We were on the May 20th 06 Western. Still the fact that we are are the same timing is pretty interesting.

Thanks for the excursion info. I'll check into the Stingray Tour. Personally stingrays freak me out. I'm not sure why? :confused3 It might be time to get over it.

Did your son use Flounders? I'm assuming he wasn't potty trained and that was why he couldn't use the Goofy Pool. How did that work out with him being on the older side?

We booked ours while on our last cruise also ... and probably will again!

Hi Misslissa, sorry I don't have a Facebook account, but I'm sure I could find a picture of us to post somehow.

I don't think we have a run down of who's who all in one post yet. Are you volunteering to collect and post the info?! :goodvibes

To all the "90-dayers": Good luck! Hope everyone gets what she or he wants!

I would be happy to do the list. My kids really want to know if any other kids are their age on the cruise. So far I have found 2 girls for my dd, but my poor ds has no one yet. He will be 10 in March.

If everyone would pm me their names, where you are from and kids ages and cabin number if you know it and want to share, that would be great. If anyone has other info they want to see just let us know.

Hi,

Actually Jake was potty trained but he did not go to the Goofey pool because he could not swim by himself. He still uses the bubble on his back so I am not sure if he will be allowed in??? Have fun planning:)

I was also wondering if anyone was planning on doing a treat exchange with the fish extenders. I've been reading up on them and it sounds like SO much fun! :yay:

I am the least crafty person, but I think it is a fun idea too. Last time we were at WDW, DH rolled his eyes at my green mickeys but I thought it was so much fun... and people stopped us everywhere! So, I'm in for the fish extenders.

I've read a little about the fish extenders but I really don't know what it's all about. Would you care to explain?

Well, from what I have also read, you make a nice little "fish extender" yourself. The name comes from the fact that the stateroom doors have a little fish with a hanger on it that you can "extend". It is like a little goodie bag for yourself. That way, notices from DCL, Navigators, etc... all has a place to be organized. Personally, it reminds me a little bit of when you are in elementary school and you are all given a brown paper bag to decorate so your classmates can give you Valentines.
Then, since we are all part of the thread, we complile a list of stateroom numbers, and we (or our kids, but I don't have kids) can leave little treats for each other! Candy, Disney, etc.

I hope that explains it a little better... I had to read up on it on here a while ago... :confused3

This thread has some examples of what they COULD look like...

I am definitely not that krafty... unless I can bribe my mom into sewing it... :cheer2:

I think the whole fish extender thing may have started on the very first Panama Canal cruise, which we were on back in May of 2005. The gift giving idea was being discussed with a plan to meet up during the cruise and exchange, and then someone happened to find a bunch of Disney door hangers with pockets for a dollar a piece. So, that was their gift, and we started calling them "fish extenders" when we realized that they could hang on the door fish and be used to hold the gifts from other people who weren't able to share at the exchange time. At least, that's what I remember happening. If they came about before that cruise, I don't know about it.

So, we may have one of the originals. It's basically just a vertical hanging piece of fabric with 3 or 4 pockets on the front. Ours is yellow and has Mickey on it. You can stop by our room and see it if you're curious. DCL staff started putting mail and announcements in it rather than using the fish :)

I posted on the regular board asking if anyone could post pictures of fish extenders. There are some good pictures. BUT unless I find one to buy I will have to use a paper bag LOL. I do not sew.... It does seem like a great idea:)
Do you leave a gift everyday? Or is there a schedule of it being "your turn"?

Heather

I'm with you on the paper bag idea. I read the post and some people are so creative...
