you are awesome!!! i'll check your page, thanks for doing that!! be sure to put where/what to avoid :goodvibes i am hoping to, in one port at least find a good resort that will let us hang out under their umbrellas and enjoy the beach. i hope to find a good beach. i still have a lot more research to do, and i feel like i am running out of time. :) we go june 1

Are we getting excited? :yay: I don't think I can stand it!! Thank goodness we have a very full schedule coming up in March and April so the time will fly. I think I've decided to cancel the Captain Marvin's excursion :sad2: I really want to do Stingray City, but DH isn't sure about it and doesn't swim, so he won't really get the full effect of the snorkeling stops (although he assures me that if I want to go, he's all "onboard" :lmao: with it), and DS is just SOOO unpredictable about new experiences, that if he doesn't like it and then decides he doesn't want to just hang out on the boat for a couple of hours, then we'll all have a pretty miserable time! :confused3 We booked the Stingray Encounter at Castaway Cay, and I think that will be more our speed at this point. We definitely want to see the Turtle Farm at Grand Cayman, so I think we'll just spend the day at Boatswain Beach.

All these decisions!! :)

I'm with you!!!!!!!!! Today is the two month mark. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We have had the same issues with the excursions. We were most looking forward to Cozumel but ended up booking nothing for it. We are going to get a cab and go to Chaankanab and I am still thinking about whether to book the "dolphins" there.

Wow! With you there again ;) . We're planning on spending the day at Chankanaab, too. I feel pretty good about all the excursions we have planned. We're just going to get off the ship in Key West and walk around. We want to the the aquarium and the Butterfly Conservatory. Boatswain Beach in Grand Cayman looks really cool, and they moved the turtle farm there which is a must for my boys! Then of course we have Chankanaab in Cozumel and a relaxing day at the beach in CC with the stingray adventure :goodvibes

Hey all-I posted on another string (about my solo trip to WDW (which was awesome)) and noticed in my signature that today was the 2 month mark...I thought HOLY SMOKES! I can't believe it...Very excited about that!!! :cool1:

I am sooooooo ready for a break! :thumbsup2 DH will finish his online college course, and then we're getting on a plane! Woohooo!!!

Yay, I'm feeling better about spending the day in Chankanaab now then! I guess since we aren't the only ones doing it. DH spend the other evening watching the iguana videos on You Tube from other visitors to Chankanaab... I hope I don't get scared, the are huge!

And, as silly as it sounds, we wanna do some spring break drinkin' in Cozumel too. Appearantly they have some pretty wild places around the port, like Carlos 'n Charlies... I wouldn't mind visiting them. And, I don't mind browsing some touristy shops and waste some $$$ there. I figured on an excursion, we wouldn't have time for that, but Chankanaab seems to fit the bill.

At Key West, we're going to wander as well. I haven't put much thought into the aquarium. Does anyone have a link to it? We haven't been to the Keys before so again... a little eating, drinking and shopping suits me just fine! :wizard:

At GC, we have booked the Island Tour and Stingray City... which again makes me a little scared :P :scared1:

But, what are you going to do??? :confused3 DH needs me to accompany him.

Last of all, at CC, we have booked the banana boat ride only. It looks fun... we also might get some scuba gear and definitely a kayak while we are there. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It is getting so close!!!!!! :cheer2:

Well, I was just on the Platinum Castaway Club site, and they have new 2/08 Western Navigators. I was surprised to see that the shore times for all the ports except CC had been shortened! Wonder why they did that?

I am SO not happy about the shortened shore times, especially in Grand Cayman. We have the 5 hour Eco Outrage tour privately booked and are supposed to meet our tour guide by 9 a.m. Now it sounds like it might be closer to 11 a.m. before we can even get ashore!!!

I will call them and find out what we can and should do about this.

ARRGHH!!!!!! I sometimes hate being a complusive planner and then have things change on me.

Linda

Hi,

I'm not a castaway club member (yet), so please could you put the times up here??
For all the stops??

Thanx already

Yvet,

This Castaway Club is a website that anyone can look at. If you type in CastawayClub after the www you will find out everything you need to know.

Linda

aha that one, i was thinking about the private section on the DCL website.

Thanx.

Yeah, Linda! I think we need to start Compulsive Planners Anonymous!

The first meeting of Compulsive Planner's Anonymous will be held in the Promenade Lounge at precisely 3 p.m. on the day we embark from Port Canaveral. All compulsive planners are welcome and will carefully mark the meeting time and location into their elaborate itineraries and most definitely not be late. Truly compulsive planners like myself will already know what they will be wearing and what drinks are generally served in the Promenade Lounge so that they will be well informed as to what type of beverage they might like to have.........

I can go on......LOL!!!!

Linda

Key West: Was 11:30 am - 7:30 pm, Now 1:45 pm - 7 pm
Grand Cayman: Was 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Now first tender at 9 am, last tender from Grand Cayman leaves at 4 pm
Cozumel: Was 9:30 am - 6:30 pm, Now 10:30 am - 6:30 pm

Cheeeeesy.... they haven't changed the times on the Disney website.

 Linda, we're "game day decision" people, but I will try to make it. Is a clipboard required for admission?! :rotfl:

Thank you for posting the time changes, Brandie. And I agree with you that if the times have been updated, the DCL site should totally reflect that. Wonder what gives?

This old English major will be dragging her husband to the Hemingway museum in Key West, and we'll perhaps go have a drink at Sloppy Joes or something.

In Cozumel, we may take a taxi over to Paradise Beach http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com/ We may not. We'll see if the Moon is in the 7th Sign of Saturn .... ;)

Gosh, I would imagine the Hemingway museum would be mandatory for this pairing of English teacher and journalist, but I can't imagine my little one would tolerate it too well!

You've got me beat, Linda!! The event and location is clearly posted on my daily itinerary, and the wardrobe is chosen for the entire family, but I haven't gotten around to the drink menu yet! Will you bring the name tags and sharpie markers or shall I??

We had reservations for the Dolphin Encounter through Disney ....9:45am...... guess that will have to change.

I think I will hand over sharpie and name tag honors to you, as I may have another little goodie up my sleeve........

:rotfl:

You guys kill me. I will have my spreadsheet and highlighters so we can compare itineraries ;)

And, just a side note about the different times... I read a post from 2 cruises ago about an engine dying on the ship and them being quite late for CC. I believe everyone got a stateroom credit. Maybe on this last cruise, they were still experiencing lower engine power than usual, thus revised port times. Maybe it is something that is in the process of being repaired??? I'm just guessing, but hopefully it would be back to normal by our departure date. :wizard:

Maybe that is why they haven't updated the DCL site...
