I have to share- even though probably no one cares (LOL) because I'm just SO EXCITED!
Okay maybe a bit of back story so you'll understand WHY I'm so excited about this.
Okay ever heard of pregnancy mask? Ever heard it usually goes away later? well mine didn't- got it with Robert and it got worse with Rita- and ever since Rita it gets darker in the sun. So yeah, this Texan has to try to keep sun off her face. Ever tried doing that with 3 kids who want to live outside (just like I did when I was a kid!) and do waterparks, theme parks, pool in the backyard, etc.? It's not easy.
First off I've tried everything to get rid of this on my face. I'm told I have thick skin and that's why my cheeks won't peel at all even with the strongest acid peels- my best bet is going to be like the extreme face peel like with a plastic surgeon and stuff which I may do someday- maybe not. It just never works out around our lives since I'd have to go SO LONG without my face in the sun (at all). That's hard in Texas. (I did finally find a face mask to wear if laying out at home to get sun on the rest of me and keep sun off my face but it covers my entire face and I can't wear that laying out on the cruise. I can't SEE THRU IT! LOL It only has mesh at the mouth/nose area to breathe thru!)

Soo... in order for it to not get worse and worse (summer before last I actually had it get darker above my right eye into my forehead too! not the left since my bangs hang on that side LOL) I have to "try" to stay out of the sun as much as possible and when in the sun use sunscreen. Problem with that is everything I've tried to use makes me break out. Slathering on face sunscreen makes me break out. so I'm like between a rock and a hard place- either have my brown splotches get darker and darker and look worse- or have my face break out. Great -which to choose right?

Well I finally relented to using a zinc stick that seemed to keep the sun off my face the best but it was greasy (have to put a lot on) and my face would break out and I'd just deal with that. but there was no way I could put makeup over that- it wouldn't work at all. But I still kept trying various (and expensive) sunscreens for the face hoping I'd come across one eventually. I'm talking for YEARS. Both cruises I had to just avoid the sun as much as possible and put on sunscreen that says it's not greasy but totally is- break out while on the cruise- the whole nine yards if you're feeling me? LOL

but I'm excited because I think I finally came across one that is not only higher SPF but when it says it's not greasy- it really isn't! I might be able to even put makeup over it! So I'm totally excited. I've only been using it for about a week but so far no breakouts. Maybe doesn't sound like a big deal but I'm pretty excited to maybe be near the pool and on the upper decks for more than a minute or two and/or maybe wear makeup instead of ONLY sunscreen slathered on and making me break out and all that. yanno? LOL

Oh and yea- I've lost 46lbs since Jan 5th- so I'm pretty excited about that. I have more to lose ofcourse but atleast I won't be as big as I've been on the last 2 cruises and feeling self conscious about that (all the time really- not just on the cruise LOL). Had to add that in -a little pat on my own back..hehe.. maybe keep me motivated to stay on track still.

This is great. Can you share which kind finally worked for you? My DS is extremely fair skinned and everything we try causes him to have a rash all over his body. I have also tried almost everything. Good luck with it and hope it really works.

Question about Docs.....It says on the front of the little packet thing to review the contract and pay close attention to certain items. Well, when I get back to the section that says Contract, there is nothing behind that page. Am I missing something????

I found this on another post and it works! found mine with my res. number! It says mine are going to be delivered today! (forget about grocery shopping today, I'm not moving from here until my UPS guy shows up)

It's Neutrogena sport face spf 70+ with helioplex ..... and I give all that info because I've tried several OTHER neutrogena sunscreens that say non-greasy that totally are greasy! this is the first one that is not greasy- seems to absorb into my skin where i could wear makeup and most likely won't sweat off instead of feeling like my face is covered in goo. Yanno? I've tried so many you have no idea-for years! So it feels like my efforts (and money LOL) are finally worth it....

I forgot to say how I found it. i was picking up DH's Rx's awhile back and walking out I walked by the sunscreen area at Walgreens- they had orange tags out (which means clearance!) scattered thru on some items. So I stopped and looked- I have to stock up every year before summer and try to find the best deals since everyone prefers the spray kind- no one (not my kids or anyone else's kids I know!) likes the lotion kind- too much trouble, have to wait for it to dry/soak in/etc. And that spray stuff is expensive! So some were clearance $2.19 instead of $9.99-10.99 and so I was looking at which to get and stock up (we have a pool in the backyard and our summers are usually long so we really have to stock up quite a bit!) and I started looking at various ones for my face too (as always.. always trying to find one that works better for me) and came across one that was 85 spf -it was neutrogena too... and I was looking at it thinking I could use one super high spf like that because THIS year I've been really good keeping my face out of the sun and I'm starting to notice it fading from having got darker last year- yanno? slightly lighter on the right side- I think the left side/cheek is getting sun when driving yanno? So I've started wearing it ANYTIME I'm out of the house even if I'm just driving to pick up a kid or something.
ANYWAY- then I noticed this sport face next to it- and the only thing I could see the difference (besides one was spf85 and one spf70) was this one said extra stuff. I mean the spf85 said won't clog pores or cause breakouts and nongreasy- but this one said that AND also said ultra sweatproof, waterproof, breathable, clean feel. I was like okay this one is adding more on the front of the pkg that sounds good to me- so I'll go with that. Plus it had a little tiny tube connected to it as a "bonus" which could go in my purse to have it with me all the time in case I forget and head out in the vehicle and forgot to put sunscreen on my face. Yanno?

And darn if it didn't turn out to be the one that worked great! I wonder if I'd got the other one if it wouldn't have. LOL
It's about the same price as other sunscreen (it was $10.99 with the bonus smaller tube also) which is way cheaper than what I've paid for some in the past. Just goes to show that sometimes paying a lot more doesn't get you what works- yanno? LOL

Give it a try maybe? I mean I'm still shocked I haven't broke out yet! I have always always broke out anytime I've put sunscreen (any kind) on my face... no matter what. But not this time! (knock on wood)

Oh and ps- do you use the sprays on him or only the lotions? Because my son gets rashes from things- I think he has sensitive skin or something. Anyway he can get "rashy" if he puts on lotion but when we use the spray kind (NOT LOTION- the kind that is a spray and quick dries) he doesn't get rashes. So I'm just curious if you always use lotion types? Just a thought. This kind for my face is lotion type- but our kids always use the spray kind on their bodies, stick kind on their faces.

I have no idea- wish I could help you! I haven't got mine yet to look at that but I know last time I had some things missing but actually the only thing you could need is the luggage tags- the rest you can get online anyway.

About 2/3 way through the packet there is a Cruise Contract Signature Form. Just behind that is the Importance Notice about the Contract. Beginning on the back of THAT page is the main Contract itself. It has 42 numbered paragraphs, and is several pages long.

Well, this is definitely one of the strangest document situations I've ever seen. On line, it said that I had 4 packages for delivery tomorrow. (which would now be today). SO...yesterday afternoon, UPS brought 2 packages--one package contained my documents only. One package contained 3 sets of documents; one for each of the 3 girls in the next room. I'm missing the documents for the 2 boys--hopefully those are today's deliveries!

OK, I give up--why would they package 6 sets of documents in 4 packages? I could understand one set for each cabin....of one for those over 18 and one under....but his makes NO sense.

On a positive note, I figured out how I can get all the luggage into the van.
4 more days of school for most of my crew (but who's counting?)

I've tried so many over the past years and I have sensitive skin that breaks out with everything....I've been researching them for 3 months and finally found Kiss My Face Face Factor SPF 30 Sunblock....so far it works great, but it is expensive. What kid did you get???

Wish school was done here but 15 more days and that's just because DS is graduating 8th grade, otherwise you could add on 3 more days. When did your kids start. We started the second week of August and I thought that was early. I really wish we'd go to a year round calendar with breaks between semesters like Chicago schools are doing next year.

I have tried the UPS site several times and it doesn't work for me. I was just hoping since we leave for Florida on the 16th. The only thing we really need are the luggage tags, but getting the documents is always exciting.

So, I need some advice...I am a very laid back person and I really don't care where our room is. We have GTY category 6. So, I am considering not even looking at my cabin number and just being surprised when we get onboard...

If you've already completed the contract online you won't have one in your docs. At least that's how mine was last year. I'm picking my docs up this afternoon from the TA, so I won't know for sure until then.

Correct that if you've done the on line check in and brought the print out forms (signature and financial) with you, there is nothing you need in the document package except the luggage tags.

We started school Aug. 11 (?)...terribly early to my way of thinking. DD is out so early because she is a senior. Their last regular day is May 8, but if they have AP tests or a couple other things, they have to go in for those. The younger kids go till the 22nd counting finals. Seniors at her private school get out of "classes" a week early and aren't supposed to have to take finals...which really amounts to 2 weeks. They do have senior awards luncheon, graduation practice,etc. It's also great because she has some required placement testing and counseling at college, so WE'll use her time wisely. She has a job theoretically lined up--the woman told her that she could plan on starting the 18th as long as her other reference checks out--what that means is a stupid teacher who can't take time to answer a one paragraph e-mail is costing her a week of summer employment! Fortunately, the employer is telling her that she's "almost definitely" hired...unless this one teacher says something awful, but she technically can't offer the job until the third reference comes in. She actually has another job, but would rather have the downtown one.

Another teacher is holding up her honors program application for college--DD took in an extra form figuring he might have lost it. NO, it's sitting on his desk filled out, but he wants to add some comments. Lovely....it makes no sense to do counseling and registration till she knows whether she's in the honors program or not--there are classes that are available only if she's in.

Sorry...I'm emoting.....They don't realize how they're screwing up peoples' lives.

Oh well...back to Disney dreaming.....and waiting for docs.

Well....I found out what happened with our documents....

There are 6 of us sailing with 5 different home addresses.

DCL sent my documents + 3 other people's to me. They sent 2 other people's documents to their home addresses. It makes NO sense. It doesn't matter at all, but it sure is strange!

I wouldn't have the willpower to not look at the documents. First, I'd want to make sure they were correct. Secondly, if the pixie dust put me in something totally MAGICAL, I'd want to know. Like I might have to dress for the concierge reception or something......
