I keep trying but will only let me book 1 person, not dh & I.

Did everyone get the excursions and Palo res they wanted ?

We leave in 6 days.....how about you ?

We booked it for all four of us, maybe it is full and only has 1 seat left.

We pretty much got everything we wanted.

We don't leave for another 9 days.

Getting so close, can't wait to be there.

We got all we wanted except for Palo High Tea, but that is not a big deal as I wasn't really expecting to get this (guess I will just have to get to gold status to get it - gotta talk to DH about what that entails ).

We are flying out to Barcelona in 10 days, and my last day at work is in eight days. I'm getting so excited!

Just finding this thread. A bit late, I know... I just got my VGT assignment along with Simian. Very happy with it. I haven't read through the entire thread yet but am trying. Hope evryone has a great time..pj

Now to start packing! And like PJ, we're coming in on the morning of the cruise. Not ideal, but can't be avoided due to work commitments. At least we only have a short, direct flight to Barcelona and no jetlag to deal with.

We have to fly from Toronto to Montreal, have a 2 hr wait then Montreal to Barcelona. We will be wiped! Will try to sleep on the plane as much as we can. That sometimes doesn't work out! If you see a couple of people looking really exhausted at lunch on ship- that'll be us!!pj

Yeah, we are doing the same thing. Our flight leaves out of Frankfurt around 10am and we arrive in Barcelona around 1130/noonish. So we have booked Disney to pick us up, so we don't have to worry about anything. I am just not looking foward to waking up btw 3-4am that morning. I guess it will all be worth it come cruise time.

Yeas, we get in at 7:35 am. the morning of the cruise. I don't think the first Disney shuttle is until 10 am but maybe I am wrong, it doesn't exactly say on my documents. We are staying 2 days in Barcelona after the cruise..pj

Is anyone doing pompeii, sorrento, capri on their own? We just kind of figured out that only doing Pompeii that day would be a waste of a lot of hours since it shouldn't take too long and we'd like to hit Capri but aren't quite sure the best way to do it. Sorrento would really just be an "in between" stop.

Well there is a Ferry to Capri from Naples , there may also be a hydrofoil to Capri. With the scheduling of these, I don't know if you can fit it in. You can go to Sorrento by Hydrofoil from Naples and that is pretty easy, but it is much further to go to Capri. If I remember rightly ( and I may not !) there is also a hydro foil or ferry to Capri from Sorrento. I think you can google the timetables. Or on the Cruisecritic boards,if you go to the ports section and search Capri, Sorrento, you may find really good info there. pj

We're leaving on the 26th, flying San Francisco to Frankfurt and then connecting on to Barcelona on the 27th (it's an overnight-ish flight). We're hoping that the girls (4 and 6 months) sleep at least some on the 11-hour flight -- probably the second half We've got hopes of them napping at the Frankfurt airport as well... Then we'll have one night in Barcelona before transferring to the ship on the 28th. Hoping that the tiredness will lead to a decent night of sleep on that first night in Barcelona and a quick reset to that time zone When we took our older DD to Sweden at age 2, that plan worked pretty well, so fingers are crossed for this time!

Okay -- now for a question -- can someone post at least a hypothetical representation for the nights so that I can have an outline for packing purposes? Like what nights are we guessing are formal, semiformal, etc?

AFAIK (and read the same somewhere here too) the main events are: formal night is May 29 (when we're at sea), semi-formal night is Friday June 3 (sea day again) and pirate night is when we're in La Spezia (Sat June 4).

Good luck getting the little ones adjusted quickly to European time!

Thank you, and thank you! We travel a LOT, so it's nothing new for the family, but it *is* the little one's first trip to Europe, so we'll just have to hope that she's like her big sister and will go with the flow
