Grammiegail - I will pray for your husbands ankle too. I really hope he's feeling all better by cruise time. Although, it sounds a little suspicious. Ever see that episode of "Everybody loves Raymond"? Ray and Robert bought the parents a cruise for the mom's birthday. At the last minute the dad faked a knee injury so he wouldn't have to go, forcing Raymond to step up and take his place. Let's just hope yours is faking too. (I'm just kidding you know. :) I really do hope he gets better) I'd love for him to get better and dance on the cruise like this... :dancer:

Dance? Grampa dance? Not likely! I can count on my hands the number of times he has danced with me (and that includes at the wedding). Usually large quantities of beer and a polka band is required.....The Man can probably help with the beer department, but I get the distinct impression that there will be no polka bands on the Magic!

Carrie, Moley, GrammieGail - We're thinking of all of you and wishing that everyone is in good health for the trip.

WC - I'm sorry to hear about Sassy. We lost our cat a few years ago on Christmas Eve. Katie, who was three at the time, still remembers him.

Please count me in on the Champagne toast.

MinnieMoms - Welcome!

We are going to do our own thing at each of the ports. We will hang out at a resortl in Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan and walk around town in Cabo. There's a good restaurant in Cabo called the Shrimp House that we really enjoy.

As for the Pirate Party, it sounds like fun. I'm not sure if the kids will be up for it, but we will come prepared, just in case.

Looks like I need to get some serious shopping done! :flower:

Mom-I've got way too much piratey clothes now I think, but we can sort thru on the boat and share w/others if needed. Please give dad hugs from us since I KNOW it is not cold feet about the cruise (but maybe about the Bay to Breakers?).

Ok, this will be a super dumb question...were we still all planning on bringing our local wine to share? I was going to hit Costco today and get a WA bottle (while we have vineyards here in town now, they are new and are not producing yet)...but now it sounds like a champagne group and not a bunch of wino ladies....hmmmm.

Hidden Mickey TIME:
Hidden Mickey #11:
Going up? Going down? Check the grillwork before you step on.

Time for the tip of the day

Hot Tip #3 :sunny: - To avoid being charged, you must cancel a Palo reservation by noon for brunch or tea, and by 4pm for dinner on the day of the reservation.

Challada - My DA who is coming, LOVES wine. I'm sure she would want to bring some. Don't worry about being wino-less. I don't know much about wine, but I'll have my aunt help me pick somehting out and I'll drink with ya.

MY GOODNESS... Everybody needs a big DOSE of health this morning. I'm praying for EVERYBODY on this board to get healthy and stay that way.

Carriep1657... I'm so glad that Sammy is on the mend... I love the gum present... how cute. I'm sure he wanted to "share" it with you.

Moley... I hope your DH angio comes out well.

Minniemoms... Welcome... your group sounds close in age to ours...

Julie from our group is bringing wine to share... she will join you and ANYONE else where wine is concerned. So don't feel left out... Bring your wine and ANY other "wino ladies" out there, please join the group... bring your favorite bottle to share. :drinking: :hyper2: :drinking: :hyper2: :drinking:

Anyone bringing a Cork thing? Can we bring one onboard or is it considered a possible "weapon"?

I think my mom was going to order the "wine in the room" package for when we board since Alex mentioned that you get a corkscrew in your room w/it...and then can hide it away to use the rest of the crew (or else the room attendant will confiscate). I don't believe we can fly one down as it is considered a weapon...maybe in checked luggage we would be okie dokie.

Glad to hear, me and Julie will be the winos on board (and I know my mom will be too). :drinking1

Alex...can you believe only a couple days to you getting on board???? YIKES!

Anyone still up for a book exchange afternoon in the coffeehouse or such? I just started "Emperor of Ocean Park" and have "Amy & Isabelle" and "High Mantenance" ready to pass along. Mom and I LOVE books, so can easily get into packing a luggage full of books to pass along! :teacher:

Anyone think they may be coaxed into re-booking while on board? We'll see how my husband likes it. He's a little Disney-ed out. He didn't grow up anywhere around here and wasn't used to being drug to the park all the time...that is untill he met me. Muah ha ha haaaa. Then I not only drug him, but got him an annual pass, we got married there, spent our 1st anniversary at WDW, and now we'll be on the cruise for our 2nd anniverary. So, definatley not for our next anniversary, but maybe summer, fall or winter cruises. We'll see.
As the days draw closer, I am getting so excited. Not only to go on the cruise, but to see my husband again. He's in the Marine Corps and is stationed in GA right now. We only see each other about every 6 week. But he should be stationed back out here by September, and then...who knows. I still may not see him as much. But I'd rather not see him while he's in GA, then not see him while he's in Iraq or Afghanistan. But hopefully he'll stay here as long as possible.
So anyone re-booking?

I can believe it's only three days till we cruise. We are 90% packed including a carry-on bag with 12 bottles of wine and a cork screw. We also put a cork screw in our bags we are checking. We will not be posting while onboard the ship- no computers or phones or pagers- I'm escaping it all.

We are dressing up for pirate night. I think the cruise staff get as much of a kick out of adults dressing up as they do seeing the kids dressed up. We are all kids at heart and on DCL we don't have to grow up, do we?

See you all in a bit over two weeks. Alex :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Brandy...I hear your pain....my DH had no idea about "disney life" before meeting me...I also dragged him to the park for honeymoon, anniversary, etc, etc, etc. When we bought annual passes last year he thought i was insane (we are 1000+ miles away). Well, in the end he is not able to do the cruise w/us because of work....or that's his excuse!

FYI...fellow insanely Disney-lovers...I know we ALL have the Disney Visa card by now...guess what, there are now CHOICES of the design on the card and not just the red pixie dust one! PLUS we get free stuff at the park! YEA! I just ordered the castle card and was told it will be here next week...woohoo!

Sue, I think that LegalBriefs is in a category 3 room. I think all passengers in a category 3 and better have concierge service and are able to book their Palo reservations and choose their dining rotations ahead of time. This is their perk.

Brandy, LAP is the acronym for the dining rotation. This means on the first night you will in Lumiere's, 2nd night at Animator's Palate, and 3rd night at Parrot Cay. The sequence repeats again starting the 4th night, and so on.

We specifically requested the PLAPLAP dining rotation. It's not a big deal if they don't assign this to us since we're just happy to be cruising, but we thought it would be more fun to have formal night fall on the night we at Lumiere's, Pirate Night at Parrot Cay due to the tropical/Caribbean theme, and semi-formal night at Animator's Palate.

Hey all-

We need to get a plan. I'm getting confused. Here's the other meeting ideas that have been tossed around:

Champagne get together

Wines from your home state get together

1st night at Brandy's room (pirate themed) (Is this just in case or firm)?

Book exchange

See Ty's suite get together

Am I missing any others? Any suggestions?:grouphug: :cheer2:

Challada- Count me in on the wine. Being here in California, I got plenty to choose from. It'll be interesting to taste wines from other states!

Grammiegail,,,hope hubby's ok:wizard:
Welcome Minniemoms!::MinnieMo
Looking forward to meeting everyone!:)

Dh read on Jim Hill site that it looks like Disney is strongly considering moving the Magic to the west coast again next year. I'll post the link when he sends it to me. Sounds great for all you west coast people.

Welcome Minniemoms

Pixie Dust and a Pirate's pint for Grandpa's ankle and Moley's hubby's angio.

Glad to hear Sammy is healthy

For those of you with nonDisney spouses there is still hope. Dh's first time to WDW was 15 years ago with me. "It was nice and the next time we do it will be when we have kids." 4 yrs later. "it was nice to see it through a 3 yrs olds eyes. Next will be when the one in your tummy is potty trained." 4yrs later. "Next time they go will be with their own kids." 2yrs ago "We don't have to do this again for a while." Last month, "do you think we could squeeze in a trip in Sept for just us." DCL has turned Dh's opinion around.

DH's pirate wig just arrived via UPS.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It is so funny! I can't wait to see him in it. I bet it'll look good on him though. It's the Johnny Depp "Captain Jack Sparrow" hair from The Pirates of the Caribben movie. pirate:
Come on cruise. PLEEEEEASE hurry! :hourglass :rolleyes1 :hourglass :rolleyes1

I'll be happy to do both. We will definitely bringing some wine with us also. I'll have to go through our collection and pick out a good Californian wine to share.

Also, could you save a couple of eye patches for Curt and I for the Pirate Party?

Okay, WCCruiser. Sorry it took so long but my group and I have worked out the kinks of the suite party. EVERYONE, tell me if this sounds good.

1st night.
8pm-11 or so.
Suite #8078 (can't miss it. It'll have green doors!)
Those who have the late dinner can come when they are done.
AND...bring the wine and champage. Let's kill 2 birds with one stone.
As for Pirate Attire - we should know by then if there will be a pirate DISNEY party or not. So, if they are not having one...come dressed in your Buccaner best. If Disney IS having a Pirate Party...come as you are. :grouphug:

Sound good everyone?

Hi Brandy,

Sounds like a good plan, except that I don't know after our 830p dinner, our DD Grace (5 yrs) will be awake! (Her bedtime is usually 800p) Especially on the first night. She is kinda shy, and I don't know if she'll be warmed up enough with the Oceaneer's Club to stay that first night. But if she is awake when we're done..we will definitely show up!

Another thought, I think the wine tasting and champagne get together, should be 2 separate events. I'd really like to do both, but not at the same time! :rolleyes1 . Since some of us Moms have young kids, we might want to do these two later in the week, during the afternoon maybe and hopefully the kids will be engaged in the kids club or we could even do it by the pool??:confused3
