Brandy, Golden Mickeys is one of the shows aboard the ship. Here's a description of it. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-ent-goldenmickeys.htm

I'm not sure what you're referring to about sailaway gifts. I know you can order disney merchandise, gifts and other goodies through the website and have it waiting in your room when you check in. Or maybe you are referring to the super-organized cruisers who have organized gift exchange amongst themselves and then exchange them during one of their meets.

That must be it. They are doing like Secret Santa or something. Sounds fun, but I think we've got enough going on w/ our group already. Have you guys seen the mess with the pin situation on that other board? They have people sleeping ALL along deck 3 waiting in line for vouchers! :faint: :scared1:
And thanks for the link. :goodvibes

I would be happy to host that one wine party in our room... :drinking1 its easier than doing it on deck 7.... if everyone agrees, then just let me know and I order up some cheese and fruit plates... we are doing BYOB for that one, correct?

has anyone tried to book anything on the DCL website? i'm running into difficulty. for example, i've booked palo dinner, but i can't find the link for palo brunch and tea service. Also, besides registering my 3 1/2 yo for oceaneer club, are there other activies i should pre-book (i've already booked excursions)?

Aidan,

My guess is that there are no more slots available for Palo brunch and high tea, otherwise this option would have appeared on the screen. It doesn't mean it's booked up though. There may be slots available once you board.

The only other things you can book online are spa reservations.

My understanding was that you could only book dinner through the site, not brunch or high tea which still need to be booked the conventional way... :confused3

Hi Legal Briefs-

At the beginning anyway, you could book brunch and high tea ressies on the DCL website. A few of us got brunch, high tea and dinner res at Palo's this way. I think 528Cruiser is right about maybe slots not being available at the moment.

Thanks for offering your suite for the wine party! It is BYOB from your home state. It is more of a wine "tasting" party, than just drinking wine.
Wino Captain Challada...do you want to keep the same time of 3pm?

Since Legal is hosting the wino shindig, I'll let him decide a time....I am happy to defer leadership of the winos to Legal!

I can't believe my family leaves town in a week!!!! Now just gotta keep my fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy and ALIVE for another week! (DH has the strep I had about a month ago, Emily fell off the tramp two days ago and almost broke her arm but is OK after we spent the night at the clinic getting x-rays).

Hidden Mickey Time:
Hidden Mickey #18:
Go watch the show but don't spend your whole time looking at the scrollwork!

:sunny: #11 - There is a small number of wheelchairs to borrow for use onboard, but if you’ll be using the wheelchair for the entire trip (including ports of call), You should bring your own.
The more I run out of tips, the more excited I'm getting. Because it means were getting closer to the TRIP!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAA! :mickeybar

Hi,
Have you guys been reading the craziness going on on the Repo cruise with people sleeping out to get a pin?? Thanksfully, I'm not that into the merchandise so I'll be warm in my bed ;)

Hard to believe we are only 10 days away!! I have started packing the girl's clothes. (I decided to just keep the suitcase completely zipped up all the time and only pack when Ava is asleep. So far, everything is staying in the bag!! :flower:

I read today too that all of the on-line reservations are working out (those who booked Palo's online had their reservation cards in their rooms with correct date/time) so that is good to know!

I'm still trying to figure out what I'll be wearing!

I'm getting (hopefully) some of the special pins for an internet buddy but I can't sleep out on the deck to do it!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted--what with graduation and all I just haven't had the time. Plus I started my summer job so please accept my apologies!

I think I'd like to join the Winos group meeting; we have the Biltmore Estate winery right here in town and I could bring something nice from there for y'all to taste.

I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you! NEXT WEEK!!!!!!

peace--
Rebecca

Chris- I know what you mean! I'm starting to get paranoid. My DH's brother and wife came over last night to have dinner and his brother had a cold. I told him no kisses or hugs! Everytime, we have a trip planned, it seems Grace gets sick right when we are supposed to go! Last summer we went to Austin for a week and Grace got sick the day we got there. Anyway, on the plane ride home at the end of the week, about an hour before landing, she just starts screaming crying. She had never had an ear infection before in her life, but she did now! Poor thing, it was horrible! After that experience, she said she never wanted to get on an airplane again. That is the main reason we choose this Disney cruise as we can just drive 1 hour to the port.
My bags are packed with all sorts of cold medicines and stomach remedies!
:rotfl:
I'm so glad Emily is OK, and did not break her arm!:flower:

Are you trying to figure out a certain outfit? Or your entire trip wardrobe? :confused3 I think we've got some people in our group with the same problem. I need to start packing! :sad2: I think I have all of my clothes. Just maybe 2 more shirts. AND SHOES! I have a "To Pack" list on my computer for myself and my husband, who will be arriving next Wednesday!! :goodvibes I think I'll need to get us some cute PJ's. Isn't there a PJ bingo night? Just incase anyway, you never know.
And that fiasco with the shirts and pins sounds crazy. I would have been so upset if I didn't get a shirt because they had been sold out on the FIRST DAY. And to people buying 20 and 30 at a time! That's just mean! They don't need that many stinkin' shirts. They don't even care about them, they are all going on Ebay. My family are big on buying t-shirts to commemorate the occasion. We payed $40 for shirts at a Prince concert. That's just our thing. We would have been so bent-out-of-shape. I feel bad for the poor Guest Relations people on the ship. I'm sure they took most of the abuse from the angry cruisers. But at least they have ordered more shirts for them. Good lord! What a mess! :sad2:

WCC
I'm with you on the illnesses. My mom has streph throat and Brett still has the last bit of his sinus infection. I had him to the doctor's this morning (3 times in the last three weeks). UGH! I just want to get through this next week without anyone else getting sick. I'm going to start taking Airbourne and hope for the best. DCL only asks about gastro illnesses at check in.

Rebecca, Congrats on the job. What are doing with your new degree?

Got my oriental trading pirate gear today and I mis-spoke on the tatoos as there are only a couple of them in the pack....but I will have leftovers of other stuff:

Here's the extras I will have:
40 spare eyepatches
4 spare foamy pirate hats
4 spare skull bandanas

OH...my packing advice on the bags...I have clarification: the size of the bags is 2.5 gallon "Jumbo" Ziplocks and they are available at Walmart! They are the best thing since sliced bread!

I have changed our reservations FROM the Holiday INN to Best Western in San Pedro... is anyone else staying there? Does anyone know for sure if this is a better location than Holiday Inn. From what I could decipher on map quest, is that Best Western is closer to the water than Holiday Inn. Anyone know for sure?
