OK...checked it out...here's info on the pins at disneydirect:

LE250 pins are 9.99
LE500 pins are 5.99
LE1000 pins are 3.99

Standard shipping is free on all the sale pins...so if you are home until right before sailing, this is a GREAT deal.
Express shipping is charged at regular rates: mine would have been $18.75 for shipping and still would have taken 3 business days....so I passed since it would make my $4 pins cost over $6 each....darn!

Margaret- YES...there are Ziplock brand bags that are a size up from the gallon size (they are like 2 gallon bags)! I just got a big bunch of them from my friend who did a Disney cruise last year, but I know she bought them at our local restaurant supply store. Another friend of mine who owns the local Italian restaurant gave me some also, so it must be a restaurant thing. I know that DS's school uses this size bag for library check-out for the younger kids. I'll try to find out where else you can get them....but they are the most awesome thing for packing!!!

Sue, Sandy & other coffee folks....let's plan at least on a Friday 10 am get together at Common Grounds....bring books of you want to exchange (since it's the end of the cruise, we may want new reading material).

Do we want to do a Bingo thing earlier in the week (maybe Sunday for everyone to check out the Bingo early to see if they like it)?

I would be happy to plan a parents versus kids sports court tourney if anyone is interested....I did one couple months ago for PTA family night (yea, I'm in that too) and it was GREAT fun....maybe Monday morning on the sports court?

Hidden Mickey Time:
Hidden Mickey #16
Pull up to the bar, but watch where you put your feet!

Hi Chris, We are up for a parents vs. kids sport court tourney. Mark and I will have to switch off watching Ava on the sidelines, but this sounds fun! I'd love to try Bingo early on too. My only issues are "what about Ava" We will be playing a lot of things by ear, I'm afraid. I already booked all the time they will let me have in Flounders (10 hours for the week). I don't know if they let you have a few extra hours if it isn't busy??

... just went to Party City and bought the last 4 green fingers they had on the shelf.. they didn't have more in the back and they won't get anymore in until after we sail... BUT they do have plenty in other colors.. blue, yellow, red all at 2.99 plus tax... Brandy is on her way to Micheals to see if they have green fingers.
Does anyone want one? I'd be happy to pick it up and bring to the dock for you...

...as far as the carry-on that I am shleeping, ... Remember that I am a party of 10 and none of them are small children so everyone is an able bodied pack horse as far as I am concerned and will carry stuff. Aaaand I have bubbles too...

Yes, I do. The Food TV channel is one of my favorites. That and the Travel Channel.

I was also looking at some of those "Art of Entertaining" classes. I thought I would try the first one and see what they are like. Here at home, I love to go to cooking classes. There is one store here in San Diego that offers evening classes from 6pm to 9pm. You get to sample everything they cook and they give you a couple glasses of wine for the evening. This is a special "night out" for me.

Susie - I absolutely love The Food Network and the Travel Channel too!!!

I thought I'd read that Bubbles were not a good idea? It said they spilled and kids were slipping and the bubbles got in some people's eyes. I was going to bring them until I read the thread from people who thought they were obnoxious. Thoughts??? I know Kelly will want bubbles if all the other kids have them? Maybe I'll just get her the Party Blow-out things? Or maybe I can find non-spill bubbles?

For those of us that have volunteered our doors as the Floor Bulletin Board...

Walmart sells:
Magnetic Note Box WITH a pencil and note paper in it. Very inexpensive.. like $3 to $5
Magnetic NOTE paper pads...like shopping list pads...
Magnetic Clips on which you can attach a pencil or pen then use the magnet part to stick your note to the door...

Susie and Sue-
What are your favorite programs...Mine are Easy Italian with Giada Delaurentis (anyone have her new cook book)?, Paula Deen, and Barefoot Contessa.

I also love the HGTV channel.:hyper2:

I didn't think about the bubbles spilling on the deck and people slipping on them, but I can see how that could happen and how kids that don't have bubbles would be quite frantic about getting some... I work with 2yr olds so this is something I KNOW. So Brandy and I were planning on using half of our stuff in the morning when the Magic gets in... at the crack of dawn WELCOME to California party, so we will use up our bubbles at the arrival party. And thanks for the tip.

AND, a member of our party is wondering about being able to bring cans of beer on board? What do you guys think? Will they let him?

Hi guys. I have cruised many times with DCL but never been a part of the boards until this time. I saw how much fun they all had at Christmas and wanted to be a part this time, unfortunately the most 2 active ones of us on June 4 West coast don't know what we should do to organize our 11 families. Can any of you all please help us to know some great ideas.

Susie - Those are my top three favorites also! I love Giada and Everyday Italian, Barefoot Contesa, Paula Dean. I have been watching Low Carb and Loving it lately also (as I have been doing low carb). What I would give to eat at the Barefoot Contessa's home in the Hampton's!! Her food looks incredible and I love when she shows the party (beach party, reception, women's lunch, etc.).

Hi Sue,,, that was me, Margaret.

Yes, I would love to be Ina's friend and get invited to her home in the Hampton's for a weekend!

Also, if my own real mom wasn't so great, I would love to be adopted by Paula Deen! Or if my husband wasn't so great, married to her tall son! He's a cutie!

ALSO...it was noted on the bulletin board question from sue that one idea was having one DIS room per deck as the message door for all on that floor...I'd volunteer my door for deck 2 since we are near the elevators (back ones).
==

We're on the 7th deck in #7624 by the secret verandah. We can use our door for the deck 7 door if you don't think it's too far out of the way. I bought a few write on-off memo boards at Wal-Mart yesterday and we could use one of the extras for messages.

Hi, Sorry Margaret - I thought it was Susie!! I hear ya on Paula's sons!

Rose, that would be great if you want to be the Message post for Deck 7.

So far it looks like we have:

Deck 2 - Challada (Chris) - Room 2626 (is that right Chris??)
Deck 3
Deck 4
Deck 5 - Suesings (Sue & Mark) - Room 5524 (right next to elevator
Deck 6 - Enchantedplayroom (Brandy & Steve) - Room 6107
Deck 7 - Socks68 (Rose) - Room 7624
Deck 8 - Sandy'sPlayhouse (Sandy & Joe) - Room 8078

Do we all want to get the magnetic message board for our doors (instead of post it notes (I might bring both just incase).

Wow!!!! Blink, step away or forget to check the board for a bit and there are tons of pages to catch up on.

I saw lots of lists (thank you all for keeping them) and while Jedisan has most of the Scoops data, since I was tracking the number of Scoppers after the last panic thought about how big our conclave was going to be, I thought I’d pass that along. It’s only one more list for you.

I will not plan out any more stuff till I see if my talents are needed elsewhere on the Ship. I will be by the cutest girls poolside of course drinking beer every afternoon surrounded by the other real Men. I'm waiting for the discussion of Scrapbooking to take over this forum, I bet the ladies will drop the booze and pick their scissors and all these parties will be history. I enjoy having a good time, but I want to go to the Ships activities since this is why I am spending the extra thou. and not going on Carnival. I doubt the wife can drag me out of bed to see the Magic dock when I can walk out to my balconey in my skivies and see the same thing. I'm not being a sour puss but a realist, I think all the ideas are great, but maybe acouple of really good planned events vs. what we have now would turn to better in the long run.

There are no rooms on Decks 3 and 4 so I think we are only missing deck 1 if anyone is down there. If you want magnetic boards let me know and I'll pick up another pack of 4 and a pack of pens and give them out at scoops. We had a board on our door in September to keep track of my sister and I and it was a blast to return to te room and see the notes that anonymous cruisers had written on it in our absence.

Seeing it from the balcony is not the sameas from Deck 10. That is magical in it's own way. There were only 3 of us up there in the rain the morning I did it the first time and it was very special. You just do not get the same perspective from the balcony.

this is our first time on disney cruise. i'm assuming that dcl will provide all the towels we'll need for pool side as well as excursions? besides registering as soon as possible for Palo, is there anything elese i should preregister/ register as soon as getting on the ship (we have a 3 1/2 yo and we plan to leave him on board when we go offshore).

thx-aidan

: I have one more question...I promise! I was just on Disney.com/disneyland and clicked onthe DCL link. There it says Flounders is 11.00 per hour? Does this sound right? Or do you think it's the 6.00 that's on the other pages? And our cruise docs? Anyone else wondering the cost? I have a dd :earsgirl: 9,ds :earsboy: 7, and ds :earsboy: 2!! I thought I had all my details done and ready to pack, now I am wondering if I should just keep the little "flounder" with me!?

I can't belive it's only 1 week and we're in LA!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc   :grouphug:
