We are doing this too :goodvibes. DD (12) and DS (15) will be with us. I enjoy the stingrays very much, looking forward to it!

VERY VERY glad to hear you are doing this one too. Megan will be really happy to have Genna on that same excursion. She sent her an email over the weekend.

I am seriously more excited about this cruise than everyone else in my family combined!!! Totally counting down the days...

I also just discovered that this cruise was on facebook. How did I miss that? :sad2: At least I have been able to join now. :thumbsup2

We are also at the Embassy Suites -- getting in late afternoon/early evening.

We got our cruise docs today but since we changed cabins, they are for the wrong cabin. Does anyone know if Disney will automatically send us updated docs for the new cabin? Our TA is out of town.

They don't usually send out updated cruise docs once you have them. We changed cabins on our Dream cruise last fall. They told us to just cross off our old cabin number, and put in the new one!

We are getting into Orlando around 2:30... Have you ever stayed at the Embassy Suites? It looks super nice but I have never stayed in one...heard the breakfast is the best :thumbsup2

I've booked a non-DCL jet-ski tour with Ebanks Watersports to stingray city and Snorkling at the barrier reef while we are at Grand Cayman. Has anyone ever done this before? I'd love to get some feedback. I saw some great reviews about a company called Fat Fish, but they didn't have a tour that would fit within the time frame that we would be in port. Fat Fish referred me to Ebanks.

We're doing the Fury Catamaran Sail and Snorkle with DCL in Cozumel at 8:45. Anybody else doing this? I would love to see some DISers :)

In Costa Maya, we're just going to walk around for a bit and shop.

What is everyone else doing?

Laura

DH and I were going to do the fury catamaran but then I read great things about nachi cocum so we changed our plans and are doing the whole family there. Now we need to find a snorkel adventure for costa maya instead.

They are spacious and you get the free full breakfast.nwe love embassy with the kids. We were going to stay there on points pure ruse but I decided the $150 for Hyatt was probably worth it since we will have luggage for 5 and land at 8pm.

We haven't stayed at this Embassy Suites before but in general we really like them. Love the breakfast --- you can get cooked to order omelets --- and really love having the extra space. With a 16 year old having an extra TV is nice. :)

Yes - its the same time slot. Nice our girls are similar ages too. I am SO glad to hear a positive experience with this excursion. I stewed over options with DCL & non-DCL before selecting this one. I wanted some snorkeling because 3 out of 4 of us like to snorkel and I sure hope we see lots of stingrays too since I decided not to select a specific Stingray City excursion since none seemed to include a good snorkel stop. Did you just eat lunch before you left the ship? Do you remember whether they had life vests for the snorkeling? Thanks for sharing.

WE GOT OUR CRUISE DOCS TODAY!!!

The last time we went we were not on a cruise but our plan is to eat a big breakfast or late lunch, pack snacks and try to grab something as soon as we get back on the ship. These kind of trips always make us so hungry! I am sure we will see lots of stingrays, they head right for the boats when you get to the area. We saw tons. I am almost positive they had life vests, but I can't recall for sure. We love sailing on catamarans so that is part of the reason we chose this adventure and the snorkeling (last time) was great. The waters around Grand Cayman are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen!

:thumbsup2 Very glad too!!

I think we girls are more excited than the boys, but they are looking forward to it too. Cruises are a true vacation for Moms, must be why we love them so much :lovestruc

:goodvibes We are going to have a blast with the stingrays!! Thanks for the reminder to bring snacks. These trips do make us hungry!

Does anyone know if the Cayman Islands National Museum is wheelchair accessible? I was wondering also if it is very far from where the tendor arrives. My BIL is in a wheelchair and - assuming he will be able to tender at Grand Cayman - might enjoy the museum if it is accessible. The pictures do not suggest that it is accessible but I also know that there was a lot of renovations of buildings several years ago after a hurricane.

Question - do you take a good camera on the catamaran or just a water disposable or waterproof camera? I'm debating on which to take on that excursion. I have a nice new Nikon D5100, but not sure if it is safe to take on the boat. I have a smaller Canon and then the kids have small cameras too. I just never seem to get good shots when we take the disposable water cameras in the water. I wouldn't take any good camera "in" the water, but wondered if it was safe to take pictures of the kids from the boat or is there just too much water splash? Thanks

I thought I would post that we only have...

More days till we are on vacation!!!

We leave in 30 days!!! I just finished the last of my tax clients, have put the extensions in the mail and now I can take some time off and concentrate on the rest of my trip plans and the FE and gifts!!! ;)

We usually take a real camera with us when we are out on the water, but I don't know if I would take the Nikon. We will take a ziploc just in case it gets too splashy. I'm sure we will keep it on the boat and use the disposable waterproof camera for stingray/reef pictures. I agree the shots from the disposable are never as good. My past experience is that you can usually tell when you are going to get wet and have time to protect the real camera.
