May 26, 2010--5/26/2010 10 Night Mediterranean

I got the email and called TA. Figured it was worth the laugh, espically with all it included (excursions, tips, Palo, and more). Are you ready for this $2399 each!!!! That's more than the cruise! Sorry DCL, but we will stick to the basics!

i most likely wouldnt of did it if all the excursions were good. but they have some stupid ones in there imo like making bread, making pizza, going to a candy factory.

I'm looking for flights as well! Looking to fly to Paris (from Atlanta)-for a few days before-I have heard prices will be dropping signifigantly after the Holidays. I am hoping for this!!!

I have a couple of questions....
Can anyone order this shirts?
Does anyone know that's the diference between a sideways cabin or regular one?
How are we all will be able to meet while at the cruise?
I am new at all of these...

cra33f-I have no idea the answer to any of these. This is our first cruise as well so I'm always looking for as much information as possible.
I bought a new appointment book for 2010 and started writing in info for next year. I got to May and started entering all the cruise plans. Now I am officially excited. It's getting closer!

I haven't posted in a long time and this is our 1st cruise ever. I have a question about the shipboard credits: can they be used toward the excursions?

Cruising with DH, DD (11),DD(9)

yes as long as they are disney excursions

We are in atlanta and are also waiting for the flights to drop in prices. Please post when you see any drop and I will do the same. Thanks.

We just talked to BA and found out if you had a group of 10 or more it can cut our price in half. We are a group of nine so only need one more to make this happen. We were looking to fly out that Sat/Sun and possibly stay a day in London - or do this on the return flight. Once our group agrees on what we are doing, perhaps it would be cheaper if we can combine so to get the cheaper flight. What do you think...or is anyone else interested?

Here is what the BA representative told me today. If you book a RT from USA to London, and then separately book a one way from London to Barcelona, you can tell the gate agent to send your luggage all the way through to Barcelona.

This is important because when I priced premium economy RT on BA Atlanta to London, for three, it was 3500 dollars. When I priced premium economy from Atlanta to Barcelona and then London to Atlanta, it was 5700 dollars. A one way ticket for three from London to Barcelona on BA is around 400 for all three!! So, the multi-city itinerary is significantly more. So I am booking both legs separately. I will be glad to not have to pick up luggage in London and recheck it. I was prepared to do it though if it meant saving 1800 dollars!!

Anyone know what shore excursions you will be doing yet? I am narrowing it down but still can't decide on a few.

That is how I feel as well. I've already secured a private driver for Villefranche as we will actually be leaving the ship on this day to head to Paris. We will need to disembark with all our luggage so I needed a driver that could take us around Nice, Monaco and Eze and then drop us off at the Nice Airport for our flight to Paris.

I'm pretty sure we are going to use Disney transportation in Rome and Florence and do the cities on our own. I'm wanting to do the Florence tour with the Disney character lunch but not sure I can talk my husband into that one!

I just booked our hotel in Barcelona for the 25th as well. We already have our flights as we are using freq flyer miles.

I'm working on a Naples private driver now and then I think we will just take it easy at Malta and Ajaccio. For Tunis I think we are going to do "Tunis on our Own" through Disney.

Would love to hear what others are planning!

Have a Happy New Year!!

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express on the 25. So far I think we will be walking and seeing the beach in Tunis and Malta (on our own). We are doing the hike to the volcano in pompeii (spelling???). We decided to do a "hop on, hop off" bus in Rome (on our own) because with so much to see in one day, that is all we think we will do, just see it all (rather than spend a lot of time at one place). I know that we want to see the Tower in Pisa, but have not decided how.
We still do not have flights planned, I am still hoping for some "sales".

We are interested. What kind of pricing would there be for a group of 10 or more with BA on that route?

We are also staying the the Holiday Inn Express in Barcelona.
As far as excursions go we are going to do Disney excursions in Tunisia and Florence but are not sure about Villefranche yet. We really want to go into Monaco and none of the excursions hit on the things that we want to see. In Corsica we will probably do the beach excursion.
In Malta we have already booked tickets to see the Hypogeum and the Tarxien temples.
We have already booked private tours in both Rome and in Naples.
It will be interesting to see how quickly the Disney excursions will fill up.

If you don't mind me asking, who did you use for your private tours in Rome and Naples? I'm researching that right now! Thanks so much,

It seems it is cheaper to fly anywhere than Barcelona at this time. Our plan is to fly to Paris a couple of days prior to Barcelona departure. We are flying out of Atlanta. Is it cheaper to take an Airtran flight to New York then fly from there? Should we just fly to Barcelona and avoid all the hassle? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a ton!!

Wish I had some words of wisdom for you! Having never flown that route, I'm not quite sure but I bet Paris at the beginning of your trip will be wonderful! We are flying into Barcelona on the 25th and flying out of Paris on the 6th of June. We are actually leaving the cruise ship at Villefranche to fly from Nice to Paris. That was the only way I could figure out how to use our frequent flyer miles. For miles there was lots of availability to and from Paris so we opted to end our trip in Paris! Maybe you could do Disneyland Paris before your cruise? Good luck with your planning and keep us posted what you decide.

We have booked the U232 Hotel for our one night stay in Barcelona. Anyone else staying there?

Happy New Year!

Hi.
I'm the mom from Collierville. We just moved here from Hershey PA area earlier this year. I'd love to meet for lunch some time!

My son is in the 4th grade at Sycamore right now. He'll be 10 soon. We are renting right now but our house has sold in PA and so now it's time to permanently settle here!

We are very much looking forward to our cruise with Mickey. We were on two cruises earlier this year as well.

I just completed two years working on the WDW Moms Panel at www.disneyworldmoms.com.

Bump. No one responded to our post so I wanted to post it again.

We will be joining you and would love to do the fish extenders as well. Please let me know where to order whatever you need to put on your door. It will be myself, my daughter age 6 and a first grader at Crosswinds Elementary in Collierville, TN, and my husband. I noticed that there is another mom on here from Collierville. What part of Collierville do you live in and would you like to meet for lunch one day? Also how many other children are in this age group? We are huge Disney fans and cruise every 6 months thru DVC but have never been to Europe. We are staying in a cat 3 and are very excited as we are usually in a cat 10. We figured that this is a cruise of a lifetime so we needed to go for it. We are flying British Airways. Our flights plans are: May 21 fly out of Memphis, May 22 arrive in London and stay for 3 nights, May 25 leave for Barcelona and stay at the Le Meridian (We will arrive in time for dinner), May 26 board the ship (What time can we board? It will be my daughter's 7th Birthday), June 5 tour Barcelona before departing at 6:30 for London and then June 6 leave for home We got the airline tickets for $994. Was this good? They are economy. We look forward to our trip and the opportunity to meet all of you!
