Announcing the First Magical Med Cruise Scavenger Hunt!!!
On a previous cruise, another DISboarder made a photo scavenger hunt for the group, and I thought it was loads of fun. Really forced me to explore some parts of the ship I'd never been to before. So, on our last cruise, I took a bunch of pictures so that I could make one for this cruise. And even better, the winner will have a
$25 Disney Gift Card delivered to their stateroom!
1) Please print out the
Scavenger Hunt Form before you leave home. It's 4 pages long (3 pages of photos and questions with a final answer sheet). I know some people are sailing on the Repo Cruise and will already be underway, so I will bring a few extra copies. But hopefully, you should be able to print a copy onboard. Just leave a note at our room (8028) if you're in desperate need of a copy. Also, the photos have all been changed to black & white so that someone with a color printer won't have an advantage.
2) Answer sheets must be turned in no later than Sunday, June 3 to room 8028. Be sure to include your name and room number. If there is a tie (and I tried to include enough questions so that it's less likely), the winner will be randomly selected from amongst the top-scoring entries. NOTE - You only need to turn in the final sheet with your answers.
3) All questions are worth one point unless otherwise indicated. For the images, be as specific as possible when describing the location. If it's not clear, your answer may not be accepted.
4) For #32, I took this photo on our cruise in December when this advertisement for the Med cruises was onboard. It's possible that the ad is no longer there. I'll check, and if that's true, I won't award any points for this question. So, even if you know where the ad used to be, you won't receive any points because that wouldn't be fair to others who didn't have the chance to see it on an earlier cruise.
5) You may use any and all resources onboard, except for other DISboarders competing in the Scavenger Hunt.
6) I'm not going to limit this to one entry per stateroom. I realize that there may be several people in a room who want to compete. However, it's not fair for 5 people to work together and then turn in 5 answer sheets. If you work together as a group (whether it's 2 people, 5 people, or 10 people), please just submit one answer sheet for your group. Otherwise, you'd have an advantage over an individual who completes it on their own. And since there's no way to enforce that, you're on your honor to play fair and follow the rules.
7) If you are on the Repo Cruise, you're also on your honor not to start playing until the First Med Cruise begins. Those extra two weeks would be an unfair advantage.
8) If you have any questions about the contest, please contact me (by PM or email at
jenstamey@alumni.virginia.edu).
