May 25th, 2013 Fantasy Western!

John, I have gone to the portcanaveral webcam site a few times and all I see is a small ship with masts in the foreground. This morning there is rain on the lens. Where would I look for the disney ships - where is this webcam mounted (ie. across the bay from the disney port, etc)
I wanna see the ship!!!

*sigh* - just looking at the port webcam and looking at the Fantasy sitting there. I know it's ONLY FOUR MORE WEEKS - and I don't want to wish my life away - but I really want to be on there now.

I understand exactly how you feel, John. I'm here at work....Dreaming of being on the ship NOW!

The camera is down the canal towards the ocean. It's on top of the restaurant Fishlips, and the direction of the camera changes at various times of the day.

Just wanted to offer a little service to anybody (on this disboard) on our cruise that might need it. I will likely be on the internet at sea for much more than I should be. Sadly, I think we will be bringing three computers/iPads with us. So, I am more than happy to send any messages or receive any messages via a special email account I set up, "disney_fantasy@yahoo.com". Obviously, we are not really out-of-touch with sat phone service direct to our rooms. Nevertheless, if you have something you just need to send out without incurring an expense (i.e. "thanks for watching the cat, his favorite toy is in the kitchen, forgot to mention before we left") or want to receive (i.e. "cousin Judy just had unexpected triplets!"), I can certainly forward a brief message without any issues.

If anybody wants to provide that email address to someone they know, feel free. I will likely check it several times a day. All the person would need to do is put your name and cabin number with the brief message (I will not have a printer, so I cannot copy a hundred word message by hand). I will then just drop the message in your FE as soon as I can reasonably do so.

Conversely, if you want to send a brief message out, just drop me a note in my FE (cabin 12002) with the relevant outbound email address.

I know wi-fi in several ports is fairly easy to get, but if you do not bring your smart phone or computer, I thought I might provide some level of assistance since I will be online frequently (especially on the sea days).

See everybody soon,

DWF

PS I am assuming there are only about 60 cabins or so that might even see this message. I think that would be manageable if maybe 1/4 actually take me up on the offer. Hopefully I am not wrong in my estimate!

What a nice offer. Fortunately we are taking almost the whole family with us (aunts and cousins grandparents and kids) so hope to not need this service. But our last cruise without the kids was tough not being connected. This would have been great!

See you all soon! :cool1:

DWF,

Thank you so much for your offer. I just may take you up on it since its just my dd and myself on this cruise. So very generous of you to offer this service to all of us.

Just saw in another thread That some dis groups have reserved private tastings for the disgroup. Not sure of details or pricing But thought it was a good idea.

For all those staying at WDW prior to sailing, did you see MK (I think I read MK) will be open from 0600 on May 24 - 0600 on May 25!!! What a great way to get in a Disney fix before a 7-night cruise. :)

Yes and I plan on being at MK that night. I may not stay that long since we have to leave for the port early Sat morning but I will be there with my party shoes on for as long as I can.:dance3:

Each cruise I like to order fun surprises from Shirley at The Perfect Gift as stateroom gifts. It is SO MUCH FUN to open the door and see treasures waiting on the bed....pixiedust: and I'm kind of stumped this year....I have two boys-- ages 11 and 15... it was so much easier when they were younger!! All ideas appreciated!!

Thanks!!:flower3:

Well, it's really late and just about everyone has their gifts made but . . .

I'm adding you to the latecomers group. Hopefully they'll be able to make some magic and get some gifts done. I'll need you names and stateroom number for the spreadsheet (link is in my signature). Look at second tab "Delivery Lists" and scroll to the US TOO list at the bottom.

Thank you John. My state room is 6038. The names and Jenna, Jeff and Kinley (age 2) Howard.

We booked already for next year (May 24th Fantasy Western [Jamaica]). We'll take a look at the price onboard and cancel and rebook if price is right for the 10% and OBC. Ressie will still go to same TA, so we won't miss out there.

That's funny I'm booked on the week following you! However there will be no reshopping cause I'm surprising the spoiled precious angel with the Royal for his birthday (embarkation day).

I am looking at that cruise for next year too. Since we'll have done a Western, gotta try an Eastern, right? Would it be bad to cruise 3 years in a row?

Absolutely not! And its not bad to cruise multiple times a year for um 4 years in a row :rolleyes1

Playing catch up on reading all the posts I missed the last couple of days. Took my girls to Disney World for my DD's Birthday. Beautiful weather....low 80's and breezy.
Next stop: Disney Fantasy!!!!!

This sounds fun. We wanted to try a few tastings!

Also I am going to cancel a few things I scheduled early on when I was not sure of plans. We have two 7:30 pm pirate league appointments for the cheapest package that my boys have decided they do not want to do. I have not canceled yet but was wondering if anyone wanted these since it is sold out. Not sure how to transfer but I could at least tell you the exact time I am going to cancel so you could try try to get them. Also have an 11:45 am couples massage on the first seA day and a 8 am Swedish massage on the first sea day.

We just returned from an all inclusive and had daily massages so kind of massaged out. ;)

Let me know if you are interested and I will tell you when I cancel these. I will probably do it sometime on Sunday.

I would love to do the mixology. (And am open to others!) Perhaps 2nd day at sea would be a good day. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thought I'd look into it after getting onboard, and then bring info to the DIS meet.

That was my plan also to go right to Guest Services and inquire about tastings. I really want to do the mixology as well. I wonder how many people they would accomodate? We can decide at the Dismeet who all wants to go.

I'm in for tastings. Not picky as to which one(s). I've only done the Tequila once before. ;)

I am definitely interested in a Mixology class. Fun!!!! Let me know if you guys can get a Disgroup one scheduled & when it will be.

I found this info on another thread where people had set up private tastings. From what I read you have to have a minimum of 20/25? people.

we had a private party for the DIS'rs in Palo for brunch. You put in a fax request. I have a ton of different numbers for this and I can't remember which one was the right one:
