May 25th, 2008 West Coast - Mexico

I'd vote for just the first day photo of everyone. We're going on the cruise with other family who we already need to coordinate with. Having to work in another photo might just not work for us. Plus, I doubt we'll be dressed for dinner before the first seating (we're stuck with second seating).

Thanks all for the fishy replies...that helped that I wasn't trying to make this harder than I should be.

We have early seating....I may have said that earlier...can't remember.

I haven't figured out yet what the heck we are going to do in any of the ports. DH and I have been to all of the ports and more than once. And since I have young kids, just didn't know what to do anywhere. I would love to know what some of you have decided to do, especially those with the younger kids.

According to the information I got in our documents:

Mandatory Drill is 3:00
All Aboard is 4:00
Set Sail is 4:15

Please share the pictures - we'd love to have you send us off! :cloud9: Here's a thread where some others are talking about doing the same thing. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1828592

Thanks for the link. Looks like there will be quite a few Disers there to send her off. We had so much fun when we saw her off to Florida in 2005.

Just wanted to send out a big HELLO to Michael and Wanda. Glad you found us before we left!

By the way, I just wanted to also note that I'm begining to panic....I'm running out of days. I felt so good about how much time I had then I realized how much I still had to do. :hourglass So I just wanted to officially tell you all I'm now in a panic. The good news is my Oriental trading order came today and I didn't expect it until the end of the week, so at least tomorrow I should be able to bag all the fish bait up and be done with that. BUT I still need to work on my door, do laundry, pack, back up all the camera cards, run errands, and so much more.......:scared1:

Well, I knew you would all understand!

Tracey

Tracey - I am in full panic mode here too :scared1: Can't believe how much I still need to do. Had 3 main things I wanted to get done and only got to one :confused3 Where is all the time going??Hoping to finish the fish bait off tonight then of course there's that whole need to pack thing....and finish printing magnets and ....ok I'm stopping before I pass out:rolleyes1

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

Ok here it is Melissa:

5 More days:yay:

I had such day yesterday! DH had charge of the carpet cleaner and school pick ups. I ran my butt off, and yes, I looked too Ellen, and it's still there:laughing: Hate when that happens:eek:

When is everyone leaving? I know some of you are coming out early.

I'm in a panic as well. So, much to finish up. I have suitcases laying all around and they are half full, or is that half empty?

By the way, I have the wines all packed:cool1: You all just have to help me drink this stuff! Because I don't want to bring it home!!

I will be seeing you all verrrrrrrry soooooooon:cheer2:

HI All:goodvibes
Just wanted to say Hi..Yo Ho YO Ho smells like fishie baits to me aarrgghhpirate: I am trying to put some movies on me little hard drive to partake on me voyage.. Me compass is pointing to DLR and that is where me and the DW will motivate ourselves toward in 2 days..I thinks youse guys is right about the time factor..I did work on an iron on shirt and it doesn't look too bad but I will not wash it like the first one I did..Look for it on me and DW as they are white with large Green Mickeys on them:banana: Yo Ho me mateys Yo HO...pirate: Found out the music was coming from the DD"s room all along--Or was it?:scared1: Let's see-passport-picture id-tidy whities-toothbrush--oh- oh forgot DW, that wouldn't do at all.. Got to go for now but, I'll be watchin ye mateys..James

I'm glad I'm not the only one in panic mode - wow - they're right: Misery does love company! :rotfl: We had a comedy of errors yesterday, went in to have a small thing fixed on the car and ended up spending 8 hours fixing all the junk they messed up. I won't bore you with the details, but there's nothing worse then spending all that time in a waiting room with kids, especially when the youngest then gets sick. :scared1: So, basically I got NOTHING done yesterday that I needed to in my packing.

But, I'm not letting it get me down - still trying to be calm. Just got off the phone with DCL and worked out the last of the details for a special suprise (big splurge) for the kids. :ssst:

Feeling a bit of a twinge of guilt over my willy nilly fish bait - but then it's gone, and I'm over it. I don't think it will be hard to determine which items are meant for which person. Mary, most of my girl items are candy or a bit older so I got Cayley a little stuffy, to make up for that.

Kim, half empty or half full doesn't matter since you have the wine packed! You're all set! :dance3:

We are leaving Thursday morning and will arrive in Long Beach on Friday. We're planning on doing the Aquarium of the Pacific on Saturday and we have already bought tickets for Indiana Jones movie 2 for Friday night and 2 for Saturday - we're splitting the crew so the little ones don't have to go.

My suitcases are also half full. Am going to try and bag all the bait today-little one was up sick in the night so a nap may win out.
Ellen You did not have to get anything special for Cayley-our saying is "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit" Avery's preschool teacher taught us that one.
We do not arrive until the morning of. Am going to do my best to make the meet-or the stalking will start.
We are also bringing wine and beer.
5 days!!!

At least you guys have half full or half empty suitcases....I still have EMPTY suitcases that aren't even pulled out of storage. BUT my last load of MY laundry is in the washer right now, and then I'll do the kids stuff. Laundry should be all done by tomorrow and I'm pretty much packing from that pile, except for the dinner attire.

I'm still working on the fish bait, keep saying I'm almost done. I'm finally done with the kids stuff (just need to package it) but the adult stuff still needs some work done. Hopefully that will end tonight.

By the way for you out of towners. Our weather is going to be VERY cool over the weekend. James you guys lucked out for Disneyland.....cool is perfect. But for Sail Away, Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. It's only supposed to be 64 degrees at the coast on Sunday. Totally messes up my plans for what I was going to dress DD in and now I have no clue what I will wear, since I don't want to change before dinner. Plus I was hoping the kids could swim after we got on the ship, but that won't be happening.

I have some last minute questions....

1) When did we determine was the earliest to get to the terminal to board the ship. I have to compete with my husband to watch the Indy 500 in the morning. A tradition of his since he was a kid. He's not happy about missing the end of the race....even for a cruise! So I dont' want to sit around the terminal, but I want to get there as soon as I can board. What time is that at? I know it's earlier than what the docs say.

2) Did we determine that we could only bring beverages on board if we carried them on? So whatever fits in a rolling tote that will fit through the metal detecter?

OF course I know that I had one more question, but I can't remember....not a surprise to anyone I'm sure. I'll post again when I remember.

Tracey

Thanks for all your kind welcomes.

Hi everyone!

I think I have all my shopping done now. Just finished cleaning the fish tanks, now on to laundry:eek: I may pick out one outfit for my DD's to wear the entire week! Same everything for the next 3 days:laughing: I want the laundry to STOP:mad:

Just have to pack and get all my paper work in order.

Yes, our weather has changed. No more 100's. It should be cool on Sunday like Tracey said. Darn. I was hoping for the HOT day by the pool. Well, I'm sure we will get some:goodvibes
