So, I can bring my 20mo old at time of the cruise to the club as long as I stay with her to play? That is great!

I agree that you should explain the situation to them. I really hope they are accomodating.

Definitely! I've never had a problem with it. There's a little slide area off to one side that my son loved when he was about that age. My DS used to go stir crazy during a week cruise and he needed some "kid" time every other day or so. It worked out perfectly for us.

When we made our reservations about a year ago we were not able to pick our stateroom and will have to wait to see what we get. Why is it that sometime you can choose your room and others you have to wait? I am to anxious to find out how far I am from different activites on the ship.

I think it has to do with how full the ship is once you made your reservation. I think those with room numbers booked right away and the rest are under "guarantee" status. The later are guaranteed a room, but not a specific room number. It allows DCL more flexibility with life boat capacity and such.

Does anyone know the price of parking per day at the port and how secure it is?

There is another thread on the main board and here is the info:

Here's a link to that thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1756379

And some info from the thread:

World Cruise Center Parking
Parking Concepts Inc.
(800) 540-PARK
www.lacruisecenter.com

Spaces: 2,560 secured spaces
Cost: $12 (maximum) per day
Overnight parking: Available
Shuttle: Courtesy shuttle from passenger terminal to parking lot

****
We parked there in 2005 and thought it seemed secure enough. I don't have any statistics. Also on the last thread, apparently you need to pay in CASH to leave the port. Yikes!

I don't know if anyone had a situation like this but its worth a shot. My ds who is now 4 years old is not fully potty trained. We started to just potty train him the other day. I am hoping that he will pick it up and so far it is going pretty ok. With his recent surgery and development, I am not sure if he will be done potty training by the day of the cruise. I talked with the cruise representative on the phone and one person said that she would see if the club can allow him to still join and another woman said that she wasn't sure what will happen until we go on the ship and talk with the kids club. I am hoping that he can participate because myself and my dh are in need of a little time on this vacation. I love the kids but I am looking forward to having a relaxing time in the hot tub and maybe a meal and a drink without a tantrum. They wanted to place him in the nursery but I was telling them that he is close to 50lbs and is around 46 inches so he is just a little to big for a nursery with way younger kids. I just wanted to see if anyone had this problem on the disney cruise line or another cruise line and what was the outcome? Thanks

They are SO great in helping with what they can. My little one was able to stay with her bigger sister, and I just kept checking on them. It wasn't an issue at all.

See you SOON:woohoo:

Hey everyone:wave2: !! As promised I found the other thread again with all the good trip report links....but of course I still can't post links so I'll just have to point you in the direction:rolleyes1 of the July 20th West Coast Thread. The links are all on the first post.
I too am hoping that my ds takes to the kid clubs...he has never been to preschool or anything so we'll see.
We've decided to stay the night before...but that's as far as we've gotten! :rotfl:

Can you send the links in an email to someone else on this thread, and then we can post them?

FYI
Was just checking:surfweb: and there are several spots open for Palo Dinner reservations for 1-2 people. Hope that helps someone!

Just got our reservation in for the swim with the dolphins in cabos for the kids program, yeah! My two are looking forward to it. I found cabos to be accomadating especially for ds if his potty training days are not over that he still can go in the water with a swim diaper and if he gets to wild to handle or if they have a hard time understanding him that the lady over the phone seems to have really understood and will do what they can for him to have a great time.
Is it about 30 miles from buena park to the port? I know that LA has traffic all day like here in San Francisco but I am hoping to rest a little bit the day we have to go and not have to check out of the hotel to early.

What is pirate night like? I've never been on a cruise with that before. do a lot of people dress up like pirates or is it mainly kids? I mean how many adults do you see dressed up like pirates? My sister and I dressed up as pirates to take my neice trick or treating but I'm 21 so I don't want to look like a loser if only the little kids dress up like pirates.

Dinner is a pirate theme where they give you bandana's and the menu is a pirate map. I think our serving team even had pirate hats on. Then at night they have a party, buffet, and fireworks. Lots of adults dress up as well as the kids, I know we did our last cruise and plan on it again this cruise. I don't think you would feel out of place either way. Here's some links to threads with pictures.

Does anyone know how early we're allowed to get to port on the day the ship leaves? All the discussions I've found about this are regarding the Florida based cruises. We'll be coming in the day before and want to get to port as early as possible! Thanks.

I believe that it was about 10 am in 2005. Hopefully we'll have that confirmed soon.
