May 25, 2012 - Magical 8-night cruise - NYC to the Bahamas!

Seaspray, I hope you stay in the FE list. Its so much fun to do, and you really don't have to go mad with it. On my last cruise we had such a variety of things, some people just gave sweets, others went totally crafty and made loads of beautiful things, but every single gift, however big or small was totally appreciated. And its fab coming back to your cabin and finding goodies! :rotfl:

How have other peoples diets been going, as I know a few of you mentioned you were trying to lose some weight? I have lost a stone and a half since New Year, so am really pleased, but there is plenty more to go yet! Problem is, I can't stop dreaming about food on the cruise to the point where I am almost obsessing about it, so I know I will put lots of weight back on when aboard!

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I will definitely stay on the FE list. :)

My diet is not going very well at all. :headache: I'm eating less and eating much healthier, but the weight is not coming off. Blah! LOL

Congrats on your weight loss!!! :cheer2: Keep up the good work.

I might be the only one voting for a longer FE cutoff, but since I'm planning to mail order things ahead of time, 30 days is cutting it awfully close. I'd go for 45 or 60 days instead. But however the vote goes, I'll still hang in there and get the job done! Can't wait to get on the ship!

Has anyone thought of planning a Meet & Greet for the group, possibly gather at the promenade bar sometime on the day we disembark? On our past cruises, we enjoyed meeting other Disboard folks like this. Another way to meet others the day of departure is to have Disboarders wear a certain color shirt so we can pick eachother out in the crowd. If I hadn't just started back to work (so we can afford this trip!), I'd plan it. I'll keep my fingers crossed in hopes that someone will take it on.

I will put your choice of cutoff on the list - I am way too busy to organize anything else (keeping up with 5 threads is a lot!!!) I bet you could manage the meet n greet if you want - it is really just setting up a time and place!

It's funny that you mention this because after I posted earlier tonight I was thinking the same thing. I'd enjoy a meet and greet on the first day, even if it's brief, just to say hello, and sometimes people have things they'd like to pass out right away. On one of our previous cruises I brought lime green leis for our cruise group, another person handed out small bottles of bubbles to blow during Sail Away, and another person made t-shirts for those who wanted them.

Here is a pic of our DIS group on the first day. We met in the Promenade Lounge.

When we all decide on when and where to meet, I will post it on the first page of this thread. :)

I volunteer to purchase lime green leis for all of us, and the place we should meet is the Promenade Lounge, before the tender drill, time to be determined.

Is everyone ok with this?? :)

P.S. In case anyone isn't already aware, lime green is the official color of the DIS boards. lol

Just wanted to say Hey! Its been a long time since I've logged in, but now that we are UNDER 100 DAYS!!! I feel like I need to get my butt in gear with some planning. I look forward to reading previous posts.

I am getting so excited!! Disney has 25% off everything until Monday I picked up some goodies for the kids for the cruise (towels, cups, tshirts a few little toys) and some of it I will stick in their Easter baskets. The code is HAPPY25 and free shipping on orders over $75. :cheer2:

In December I bought red and blue DCL t-shirts from the Disney.com web site for DH, DS, DGF, and I to wear on embarkation day; I should've waited until now so I could get a discount. Oh well. LOL I'm glad that you were able to get some good deals! :)

Here I sit, catching up on the boards... Been crazy lately.

I have my yogurt and I'm reading..

I had the best intentions of losing 20 lbs or so before this cruise, but I just KEEP EATING! :lmao:

I just don't know... :confused3

Gonna try it again, weather has been nice, I have songs on my IPOD, earbuds ready and figures the kids are off this week LOL :)

It's hard to eat around them when we are out running and doing things... bad choices all around..

On a happier note, time is coming!!! OMG, less than 100 days you say!?

I'm getting very excited...

I have my FE done, gifts are being prepared...

Boys have their clothes, my daughter is all set too, everyone BUT ME! :rotfl2:

Isn't that always the case??

I'm hoping if I can stick to this little diet of mine, I can buy clothes come May! LOLLL :)

I'm gonna really work at it - I work better under pressure! :)

I hope everyone has a good day!
:)

Thank you, Sea Spray, for taking on the Meet & Greet! We're looking forward to meeting everyone and making new friends onboard. :dance3:

Good luck on the diets everyone (Georgette, I'm sending positive vibes!). I have a few pounds to lose myself.

The last Pirates of the Caribbean (On Stranger Tides?). premiered when we were onboard for the TransAtlantic Crossing. That was alot of fun! Does anyone know if we're timing it right for a Disney movie premier at sea?

Susan

SeaSpray - can you re-add my daughters name onto the list... seems she's fallen off LOL :) hehe

Her name is Caitlin, will be 9 at time of sailing..

Thank you!

Have I missed the info about the meet and greet? Definitely want to do that.

Diet going well here, 23.5lbs have been banished! Still a lot to go, but more than happy with what I've lost so far.

Caitlin has been added! :) Sorry, I don't know how she was left off. :confused3

You're welcome, Susan :) I hope there will be a Premear at Sea during our sailing, that would be fun! We've seen the first 3 Pirates movies on the Magic, we still haven't seen On Stranger Tides, I wonder if they'll still be playing it??? lol

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to hit the 2 stone barrier when I weigh in on Friday but we'll see, as the last 3 weeks I've only lost 2lb a week.

I still have another 4 stone to lose to get down to my ideal weight, but I doubt thats going to happen (and certainly not before the cruise!). Will just keep plodding along, have never managed to do this food replacement diet for this long before, so am quite amazed at myself.
