Canadian culture with tipping is basically identical to America's culture. Tipping bellhops, cab drivers or anyone else you typically would do in America should be extended to Canada as well. Also, in general, it is considered much more appropriate to tip in Canadian cash rather than American cash.

Thanks for the heads up. We were planning to anyway and have some Canadian currency already.

Really, I talked to my boss about this, he is from Canada, and he said USD was gladly accepted and not a problem.

I'm currently in between two cultures while DH is in Japan. One who tips and one who doesn't.

Yes, we are enjoying it. People tend be very friendly and love that we are willing to try new food/drink(don't know sometimes what I eat), speak their language, and appreciate their culture

My kids voted best Disney buffet in Hong Kong, but Japan was a really close 2nd. I was amazed when I went to guest services Tokyo Disneyland and there was a kid trying to recover two 3DS and get this, both had been returned and Guest services handed it over. I was thinking, sadly, I doubt that would happen in the states. So amazing.

Just curious if there are any single travelers? I am traveling with my Brother, his wife, and their kids. Actually part of a large group but I am single and seeing if anyone else was too. Or does anyone have suggestions for a single traveler (especially in the ports).

Hi there! My friend Heather is single and coming on her first Disney cruise with my husband and I. We do plan to spend lots of time and do things with her, but she may want to meet other singles on the cruise as well. She is GREAT!!!

From what I understand we start actually going through the arm around 12:30 or so. It takes a couple of hours to get to the glacier.

I just got off the phone with DCL and they now said that Semi-Formal night is on the 5th night of the cruise. So Formal night is the 2nd night, Semi-Formal is the 5th night, and the Pixar Pals party is on the 7th night. I really hope that this is the final answer to this question because every time you call they give different information! Starting my packing today!

Only one ship is allowed in the Arm at one time. It really depends on when the Wonder can start going through. Recent navigators show narration for Tracy Arm starting at 12:45. So I think it's safe to say we should enter the Arm between 12:00 and 1:00 PM.

Weird, I thought some trip reports have said they have followed ships in? No? Maybe I am not thinking of the Tracy Arm segments? I know it's not super wide but I swear there have been times where X ship was reported to have been closer to the glacier and in their pics. Maybe not. Maybe I just hallucinate

Not impressed by Juneau Dock, as only us and Holland America Vollandam. Furthest dock from Centre .

A couple of thoughts. DCL contracts with the port authorities for the entire summer. Whether there's one ship or 4 ships in port, DCL has contracted for that pier.

Secondly, DCL is a relative later comer to Alaska and got what they could get.

We got chased down because I forgot my cellphone at dinner one night. All in all, people tend to return lost or found items. It is really neat and reassuring.

When we first moved here, there was a report asking for families to come to differant police stations to claim safes that had been turned in after the tsunami. None of the safes had been tampered with.
