May 24, 2007 3 Night Wonder!!!

I have a question about boarding for those of you who have done this before. What is the best time frame to board with the least amount of crowds and the shortest wait? My DD13 has Downs' syndrome and is not the most patient of people in ordinary circumstances. I'd like to time things properly so that we aren't in a huge crush of people. Any suggestions?

She is physically the same age as your DD Barb but they are really YEARS apart-maybe that's why I think that DD10 is old beyond her years?????

Have any of you stayed at the Radisson at the port?

I've wish I could speak from experience regarding the time to get onboard but I think you've gotten some good advice here about not arriving early! We're planning to only because we'll be leaving WDW that morning and won't have much else to do. The anticipation that day will be driving us nuts

I bet my daughter would love to meet your girls :)

We're actually driving down from Lexington, KY - leaving on the 19th of this month. Two weeks from Saturday!! Check into the Poly Sunday (as early as I can possibly drag my family out of bed 'cause in my opinion my vacation starts at 12:01 a.m.). I've forgotten but I think our stateroom onboard is a Category 9? All I know is that I insisted on a veranda because I've never had one on a cruise before. I may regret that decision because, from what I hear, we'll never have time to use it.

Did I say two weeks from Saturday???? :scared1:

My GF and I will be on the cruise as well - celebrating her 28th B-Day -- Staying at Hilton Cocoa Beach before hand for one night.

She has no clue about it just knows we are going out of town, cant wait to surprise her.

The only thing I booked so far is the snokeling in Nassau.

What a great birthday surprise! Only 3 weeks to go!!

Just wondering if any of you had any information about the "dress up" night for dinner. Does my DH really need a jacket? There is no problem bringing one, but I would love to leave it at home if it is not really necessary.

3 weeks from today!!  :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1:

Hello, I'm on the 3 day cruise for May 31st, the very NEXT 3 day after yours!!
I'm wondering if someone could save and post your navigators when you get back from your trip?

Have a good time!

For anyone that's cruised Disney before, do they have beach toys at Castaway Cay for the kids or do we bring our own?

Thanks

Sue, they have big inflated tubes you can rent. But I don't remember seeing just toys. (like shovels and buckets for making sand castles.) My son never managed to get board he was to busy wanting to splash in the water. :thumbsup2

I just got a UPS mailer from Disney. Inside were pre-printed luggage tags, immigration forms and a book (kinda' looks like old fashioned airline tickets) with about 40 or so pages in it.

Just looking at it now.....yep, tickets, itinerary, tipping info, a couple of forms to sign and then tons of legal stuff in the back.

They gave us 4 luggage tags per person! I'd never bring that much luggage!!!

Only 20 days left :yay:

My TA told me to expect my docs via UPS any day now. I sure hope they leave them, because I am never home during the day for a delivery. Did you have to sign for it?

I just placed an order through The Perfect Gift . com and are having them send a gift basket to our cabin for my daughter. They are located out of Port Canaveral. You can have them put anything in it you want. What a great idea.

We got ours today too. Weird thing - they sent it to the attention of my daughter? Good thing I got nosey and opened it :) I only got 4 luggage tags total (for 3 people). We're not flying in, however - maybe that's it?

It's getting closer! We leave for Disney 2 weeks from tomorrow!!

From my understanding a jacket for men is "preferred" for dinner but not absolutely necessary. My DH isn't going to bring one (we've cruised before and he just thinks it's entirely foreign to wear a jacket on a tropical cruise). We ladies do have the advantage of wearing a nice sundress :hippie:

I believe that the jacket is required for Palo (and we're skipping that this trip - maybe next time).

Thanks for the info. It will be nice not to have to pack one. We are skipping Palo too. Since it's our first cruise we just want to take it all in.

I wish the 24th would hurry up and get here. This cruise seems to be all I think about these days!! pirate:

I'm at the "nervous" stage now! Got everything in line - just really need to pack at this point but I'm worried about being away from office so long, worried about how my furbabies (my two wonderful dogs!!!) will do at a kennel first time away from Mom (and sooo long!), worried about if I made all the right reservations, chose the right excursions (or did I choose too many??), what will the weather be like? Did I pick the right resort for the "land" portion of my trip (can't believe I'm doubting the Poly but I am!!). :confused3 I also keep thinking to myself that while our time to go on vacation is getting closer, so is the time to come back!!!

I had a dream that the kennel I reserved told me the morning I showed up to drop off my dogs that they didn't have my ressie and they were all booked up and I was forced to choose between my vacation and my dogs!! I called the next day and they actually HAD lost my reservations due to some computer problems. Glad my subconscious gave me a warning :)

I know it's only trip jitters but I'm ready to move past this stage of Vacation Preperation and be excited again!!:dance3:

You sound a lot like me! I get nervous about all of the little details too. I also worry about all the things I can't control.

I fully expect to be depressed when the cruise is over! After our trip to WDW in Feb., I was in a funk for a couple of weeks. I know the trip is going to go way too fast. We will just have to remember to enjoy every minute of it. :flower3:

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you....

I didn't have to sign for the envelope but then again, UPS has left things that DID require signature and nobody at my house signed for it!

It's strange how we got so many luggage tags-no, we're not flying-we live just to the west of Tampa. Each one of the 4 of us got a page with 4 tags.

****Barb****
Strange how you got that psychic warning.....any luck with lotto numbers?

I received my docs (which were left at my door) upon my return home from work. Good thing I live in a safe and honest neighborhood. I received 4 luggage tags for each myself and my daughter.

No Docs yet for me either. I'm hoping they come today.

Only 13 days till I leave for Orlando and I have so much to do. My husband will be on a business trip up to the day we leave for vacation!! Talk about cutting it close. That means that all the packing and last minute planning is left up to me. I hope I can get it all done.

So, are we going to plan to meet before the sail away party??
