Anyone who was at one of the previous 24 hour events at RD, how busy during the first few opening hours? Out plan is to leave by about 2 or 3PM to avoid the crowds.

This is our plan as well, so I'm curious. From what I've read, it gets crazy as the day goes on.

We've never done a 24 hour event before and I feel like I need some sort of strategy, lol! So if anyone could read these plans and let me know any suggested modifications, that would be super! TIA!

Bear with me, it's in 2 phases:

One DD and I will be arriving to Orlando on Thursday and can be to MK as early as we can get ourselves going on Friday morning. I would like to get there by 8am, but not sure how that will go as we are dependent on the buses (coming from YC). We will shop and ride SB until FP+ at 9:50-10:50 and 10:50-11:50, then lunch at CP at 11:50, followed by last FP+ at 12:50-1:50. Then we will leave to return to YC for a quick swim, shower, and registration for a scholar-athlete event that evening, and then the event itself. It should be over around 10pm and we hope to return to MK at that time. Anyone care to comment on whether they anticipate the park might be closed due to capacity at that time? If the parks close for capacity, will that be posted on MDE somewhere?

Meanwhile, DH and 2 other DDs arrive to Orlando on Friday at about 6pm, will drop bags at YC and take first bus over to MK -- hoping to arrive by 8pm. Same questions as above about likelihood of park being closed at that time? And any way to know if the park is closed due to capacity prior to arriving at MK? They will grab food somewhere and have FP+ for 8:30-9:30, 9:30-10:30 & 10:30-11:30. We would be joining them (assuming we can get in) somewhere in there, though not riding FP+ with them since we will have done ours in the morning. We will stay as long as we can, but are also planning to be at DHS on Saturday by 7am for SWW! EEK! Is it crazy for us to be doing all this? There are so many things we are trying to squeeze into one weekend, but we have to sleep sometime!

We are going to the 24 hour event at MK too! First, time so excited. We, however, plan to party the entire weekend with little sleep. Our plans as follows: Leave from West Palm Beach at 5 PM Thursday night Check into POP at about 8:30 PM Thursday night Have ressie at Beaches n' Cream at 10 PM Friday morning... plan to arrive at MK at 4 AM Ride and do what we can until 8 AM Go to AK - use our Fastpass +'s Come back to Mk around 1 PMish and we plan to stay the entire night until 6 AM Go back to our resort Sat morning, change, and head to HS at 8 AM Stay at HS until 11 PM that night. Go back to resort. Sunday, breakfast at Kona at 8 AM Epcot until Illuminations After Illuminations drive back home! Busy, busy, busy but we are young and all Disney fan-actics!! I am traveling with my Disneyettes!!! We are excited! 45 more days!!!!!

I'm exhausted just reading that! Sounds fun, though!

I am going to try to do RD, but not sure how likely that is as I am not a morning person and don't want to get into my costume until the evening (queen of hearts just seems like an evening costume to me).

In the likely scenario that we do not make it to RD (and even if we do, and take an afternoon break) we are planning on heading to MK no later than 5pm. Hopefully we can stay until 2 or 3am, but we leave the next day so we will see!

Not sure which blog you are referring to. I just checked the Disboard blog and there is nothing. The last few entries have been about DHS 25th and Easter.

I know we did not post anything on out blog either.

Also, the cab idea is a great one. Is anyone else staying at All Star Sports interested in sharing a cab? I was at One More Day and I would love to be able to get there a little earlier then the bus gets us there. There are two of us in my group so two spots should still be open in a cab!
