well, at least by having a *roast* or whatever it looked like, we get a break from Ashley dancing again. Apparently there will be a lot of it this season.
Maybe her follow up reality show will be Ashley the Dancing Dentist!

Okay, I finally saw the first hour. Was too tired to post last nite. First, that dance segment was horrible. It was all about promoting Ashley as some dancer.

Second, forcing the guys to dance was just ridiculous. Yeah, that's a great way to get to know the guys. Half or them got sent home. Some of them were good dancers on the bad team, but the whole team went back to L.A., not just the bad dancers.

The whole wedding date segment was so manipulated. Really? Really?

I did notice she kept asking and saying that she likes William's playful side, she hopes William can be serious for the long haul. So even Ashley is concerned about this guy saying last week, that he wants to remain a kid all his life, but can he TRULY be there for the serious times, too? Maybe his dad's death will be the last time he is emotionally willing to go through trauma & pain. His remaining a child, may be his way of backing away when things get to rough and painful. We'll have to wait & see.

When West started explaining about his life, 10 seconds into it, even Ashley, who didn't even know what he was going to say, said, "You're scaring me." Run Ashley! Run!

Mickey's story was too somber. I don't know where Ashley got that he was so uplifting? Maybe she's just making things up about how she'd like him to be.

She doesn't really have much of a connection with the dentist.

She sent the Mama's boy home. And he called his mom about it, the first thing.

I like William, but something tells me he is going to turn out to be a jerk. For some reason he reminds me of Jake Pavelka. I hope I turn out to be wrong.

I don't know if it is creative editing or not, but I haven't seen one thing about Bentley that would make Ashley fall hard for him. So he picked her up and carried her to the fireplace, big deal. It seems farfetched that at this early stage she would be so devastated as to throw herself on the bed and sob uncontrollably over him. Something seems very "off" about this...

The Mask getting interrupted right as he is about to reveal himself was so totally scripted and predictable. I bet The Mask makes it to Bachelor Pad.

The whole dancing segment was just horrible. Is she giving up her dental career for the life of a dancer?

The Bellagio "wedding" segment was cringe worthy. William wants to be a comedian. I think that is his real reason for being there. Something about him I don't like.

From what they are showing us, I like JP the most. Of course, he could be a phony too.

Despite all my complaints, I won't stop watching!!

There were a couple that got roses last night that we had no idea who they even were.

Bentley needs to go. He is disgusting. I don't care if he is hired and scripted, can't stand him.

The first night, dh and I said he must either be extremely good looking, or extremely ugly, feeling the need to pull this stunt. From his mouth and cheeks, I think he's going to be ugly.

I think it's a little TOO coincidental that the next guy showed up just as Mask Guy was going to reveal himself. I'm sure the production assistant told the next guy, "Go over NOW!"

yup. And if he really felt it was the right time to show his face, and he might not get a rose without doing so, he should've just pulled the mask off with the other guy standing there. Or in front of everyone before the rose ceremony.

In the previews last week, they showed her sobbing over some guy, running into bed - while narrating out loud her thoughts - "How could she have been so wrong about someone?"

Seems that the Bentley thing will be over after next week, thank God!! Character or not, he's a jerk and I don't want to have to look at his stupid haircut anymore!

I also thought the dates were awful... the dance segment and the wedding. Glad she send mama's boy home. What a loser -- calling his mom on camera, and telling her he needs her to pick him up at the airport and make him french toast.

No, it's the scripted writing they gave him. I seriously think they hire a couple actors each season. They tell the Bachelor(ette) that (s)he still has 23 choices - and in the end it will be just ONE person, so two extra (non-real) "choices" who can add drama, that they must pick each week, shouldn't be a problem.

I couldn't agree more. Last year it was that horrible actress Michelle Money, now it's Bentley and Batman. Cheap theatrics getting old.

The shows are great promotional gigs for wannabes, can you imagine every "manager" in Hollywood with a good looking bad acting client rushing to get them on the Bachelor??? It's GOLD!

William turned me off last night, dimples or not he managed to go from Prince to Punk in one show.

Still love JP and Mickey, but BOTH are too good for HER. This year I don't think the Bach and the guys match well, her guys are awesome and she's.... well, as Bentley said "NOT MY TYPE"....

This is an example of why it wouldn't matter if there are two actors in the mix. The Bachelor(ette) isn't going to be attracted to everyone picked. The chemistry is there or it isn't. She already knows from the first meeting who she's attracted to.

She kept Mask Man, but his story, when he revealed it, wasn't all that interesting, other than the brain hemorrhage. And he never quite said why his 10 yr marriage fell apart. Ashley really didn't seem to have any chemistry or excitement with him.

If she really wanted to see the mask off, she could have told Matt to come back in two minutes. Matt (Mama's boy,) was the one she sent home. So, it's not like she allowed herself to be whisked off by someone better.

Yeah, they could have gotten someone with such fabulous eyes that you want to keep looking at him.
