May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

Hi! Does anybody know which snorkel trip at St. Thomas is better? Or are the two (Captain Nautica's and the Buck Island Catamaran) comparable with different stops.

gonna do Forest & Beach on Tortola. Have just been snorkeling in Australia and don't need to eat rubber again so soon.

We're thinking of going to Trunk Bay on our own. It's about $25 cheaper per person and there is supposed to be a snorkeling trail there. Probably not the best around but once you've had fantastic snorkeling you're just looking for neat things to see. Looks like we'll have a lot more time at Trunk Bay doing it on our own.

I'm sure you'll have a great time whatever you decide!

We're doing The Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Tour and the Oceans 7 Beach Break. Jon loves just sitting on the sand and the girls like to play in the shallows. We picked by pictures! I know its not the smartest way to go but its through the DCL, how bad could it be?

I am way too busy planning this Vow Renewal ceremony. I'm going back and forth on what the girls should wear. We are not going formal but Taylor is 16 and Mackenzie is 7. We can't have them wear matching outfits unless we get those made for them. 16 year olds and 7 year olds seldom agree on clothes styles.

We're also picking out new rings. I'm second=guessing my dress.

I don't want to be a bridezilla. Maybe I should just wear a tropical mu-mu. :bride:

I made this "logo" if anyone wants to use it for anything.

You guys are so crafty! I'm stealing the Green Mickey Head AND this. I owe you both a fruity drink on the ship. Or you can have a piece of the wedding cake.:bride:

Angie! I LOVE what you did!! Guess I'll have to steal it too. At least others on the ship will know we're all a group, huh?

I haven't done Trunk Bay or Buck Island, so I just can't say. Maybe for this trip I should have branched out a little...but we really do like Capt Nautica's. Oh well.

You can get pretty close to matching the girls at David's Bridal. I'd say if they're in the same color range, that's close enough. But I understand the amount of thought that goes into it all and the second-guessing. We did a vow renewal, and our daughter's wedding last summer...so I REALLY know!!

Good luck on the girls dresses! I agree that using the same color and different dresses is the best idea, if possible! That is great you are getting new rings!!

And I'm also going to use the logo for a magnet!!! I think it's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

I was wondering how to estimate the number of "exchanges" to plan for? Is there a maximum number of participants? A "close" date after which people can no longer sign up? Obviously, I don't want to have too much or too little... - well, maybe just a little extra... but I have no idea what that is?

If you are passing out mini bottles come back to my room at least three times :banana::banana:

What DID we decide was the cut-off point? I think we're pretty close to it now.

Some people are going to do them on only one night, some on 3 or 4....so no set "rules" to go by. I think right now we have about 21 or 22 rooms, not counting each of our own.

Just remember, it's not supposed to be expensive, it's just for fun. Some items can be useful, but others are simply fun.

My math could be off, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.....

If we cut off joiners to the FE list at "around" the 45-day mark...and I'm counting the day before the cruise, because most of us will start to travel then...that would mean that no one else can sign up after next weekend.

Is this agreeable???

Yes, I think we agreed 45 days. I got lots of kids stuff over the weekend and waiting until a few weeks from now to go to the liquor store (the're separate from other stores here in PA). Jon's laughing at me, he says my suitcases will be 100 pounds each. I'm considering shipping down so I don't have to pay hundreds of dollars in luggage fees. We have 4 days at AKV before the cruise.

45 days works for me. Except - holy mackerel - that means my wedding is in less than that! :scared1:

My bridal shower is this weekend, I'm so excited! :)

Sounds good to me.

How exciting!!! :goodvibes

I also agree that the 45 day mark is good. I ordered stuff and it should be in this week...so I can finish putting things together! Just printed most of our magnets, and DH laminated them for me!

We also went on the 19th to get our passports done. We went to our local courthouse, and made an appointment. It was fast and easy!! They said we should receive them in about 3 weeks!

HOLY COW...this weekend will be the 45 day mark???????? WOW:cloud9:
