Snow day here! 5-6 inches outside. It's our first year in New England after three years in California, we are definitely ready for some warm weather.

I've been kind of following the cruise director threads. Has anybody heard or have and educated guess who ours will be? I love one and was not so crazy about another we've had, so I'm very curious!

"Snow" day for us here too. I think they were worried that the roads were icey this morning so school was cancelled. I'm working from home today and the girls are playing well together ... for now, that is.

If I hadn't had work to do, I could have been out by the pool sunning in the 88° heat! SORRY!!
It's so hard to wrap my head around the fact that it's still snowing in other areas. But we're supposed to get rain this weekend...that'll help remind me.

And for those that don't know the story- I was on a Disney cruise with Stacey & the girls & I got a phone call from my husband, Ken (who never calls) telling me that my sister had died. She had a deep vein thrombosis that went to her lung. I am still sick about that, she'd been to her Doctor, & it was so avoidable, if not for him. Then we were booked on the repositioning cruise in August last year & I had to cancel because my husband, Ken, was dying from a terminal brain tumor. He did quite well for over 3 years, but then it took over our lives. But it's been 6 months now, and I am on the rebound (well most of the time) So Stacey, my daughter Kaylah, & I are trying for the 3rd time to cruise. So far, so good. I am forever the optimist. Nothing will stop us from this cruise. Between my husband's family & mine, we have lost 10 family members in less than 3 years. But it ends here, of that I am sure. Now it is time to pick up the pieces & move on. So, get me a Konk Cooler- or Conch Kooler- however they spell it & I will come out smiling. Like I said- I am an optimist.

I made the labels for our FE gifts, but am thinking that some of the labels may not stick well to some of the gifts, so I might go buy a box of inexpensive sandwich baggies to put them in....does anyone have any other ideas that might not look so tacky? Or do you all care if your gift is in a baggie???


Sometimes the baggies come in handy at the end of the cruise, to put a bottle of lorion or such into, to keep it from leaking in the suitcase. Or to bring home seashells......ssshhhh....you didn't hear me say that!

I was thinking Fish Extenders recently as well. I love baggies. They hold dirty clothes, wet wipes, etc. I wouldn't mind a baggie at all.

I'm torn between a "room" gift and little things for kids in room or just room gift. I know my kids. One loves those little toys and the other couldn't care less. We have lots of pre-teens in FE. They don't want "baby" gifts.

I'm still wondering if anyone would be offended by an airline bottle of Rum?

DCL put the two tank dive in Tortola up on their web site today, so we now have Maureen booked for that.
Kay and I will probably do a beach break somewhere that day.

BTW, we had 13 inches yesterday. I won't post pictures.

Peter, sorry you won't be joining us. I was looking forward to meeting you and your wife.

Hey Everybody! Just joining in! We were booked on the 4 nite May 24th, but after pricing out 3 days at WDW w/Poly and Tix, it was cheaper to just stay on the ship. Tortola here we come! We have adjoining cat 10s on the 2nd deck. First time without a porthole- but I guess I can suffer, after all we'll be on the MAGIC! I'll be catching up on this thread, but if someone wants to share the highlights with me, that's great! So far, the only excursion we've booked is parasailing at CC for all 5 of us. Our 2 oldest DDs are 14 and 16- looks like we've got a few other teens as well.

OMG!! We LOVED getting the snow. Total 4 inches in our area, I stopped counting at 1 1/2 and went to sleep! DH and I stayed up all night wating for and then watching the snow fall. It was amazing to see!!

It looks like everyone is busy with FE and magnet stuff!! We only have 2 months and 20 days left!!!

Our family has been sick for weeks now! It's been miserable!! I pretty much slept all last week!! The meds are working great now! In fact, Monday I woke up feeling much better until I took the dog out at 6:30am, and learned what ICE is like to "walk" on!!! Ouch!! I'm in more pain today than yesterday. I'm OK, just in pain. I am a bit worried about my knee...if it doesn't get better I"ll have it checked out..I need to get it better for all that walking on our cruise!!

Took mom to the dr last week, and her kidneys are failing. They are only working at 17 %, and when they get down to 15 % she has to go on dialysis. So she has a lot of appts coming up. It's kind of hard to accept w/everything we just went through with loosing dad. So if you think about it, keep her in your thoughts or prayers. Thanks!!

On to cruise stuff....

We got our tropical shirts in (had to send 2 back, but got the new ones in now). I ordered some very lightweight polo shirts for me! Mom is going to embroider Disney Characters on them for me! I found a bathing suit and cover up too!

I made/printed out most of our Magnets for the door last night! Just need to do a few more. Dh is going to laminate them and then we'll stick the magnet tape on them.

We may not go to Formal night dinner. Do they do the nice backdrops on Formal or Semi-Formal nights? What about the characters in formal attire...what night is that?

Golly goodness sakes Heather!!! You've been through the wringer!!
Prayers for your mom, and good wishes for a knee that heals up quickly. Just don't try to ignore it if the pain doesn't go away...see a doc right away.


They have a couple of different formal backgrounds and they add another photographer at the bottom of the stairs that come down from Shutters near the internet cafe or whatever they call it. They will have a lot of characters out there in formalwear also.

Ugh! Formal night. I'll have to start hauling stuff out & see what fits. I was so into getting sleeveless shirts & shorts together, I completely forgot about the dresses. Oh well, might need to take a shopping trip soon.
