May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

OOooooo....I'm so jealous!!! Did you have a good time?

We had a blast. Were able to upgrade at the port and live the suite life for a week ;) Great servers, great room steward, met a few DISers and others. And the weather was fabulous!

Those pics look wonderful and even not celabrating Christmas it makes me want to go at that time to see all the decor:lmao:

Don't want to wish the year away but I wish it was May already - some warm weather would be better than the doom and gloom.:scared1:

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Stacey, that pictures of the ship is so pretty. I really want to go to WDW at Christmas one year. I was hoping for next year but my MIL has messed that up ... it's her 5th anniversary to her new husband & they are planning a bash exactly when I wanted to go to WDW. Should have gone this year after New Year's .. didn't realize the kids don't go back to school until Jan. 6. But, we've already made plans for my sister, hubby & kids to come up here to go see LSU play in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Lucky you! The only problem with all this planning, chatting, etc. is that it makes me miss the ship.

And today we will have sleet, hail, and all that "wintery mix" junk. ICK!

WOO HOO!!! What room did you have? I hadn't been in a standard Cat 3 until the Canal cruise, and wasn't sure I'd like it....but I did. The four of us (there were supposed to be 5, remember?) had the Cat 3 + connecting Cat 4, and it was like one huge suite. It actually worked better for us than the 11 Night when we had the Walt. At least with the two connecting, we had 3 showers.

Just looking at that picture, I can actually feel myself walking through the lobby......
I don't really wish for time to go any faster, either....but I'll be excited to be back onboard. Going to enjoy it, since I don't know when I'll be back for a long time after this one.

I really hope I can relax and enjoy it.....I'll probably be a nervous wreck and all antsy-pantsy....knowing that the grandbaby is coming right after the cruise! :cloud9:

We had 8546, perfectly midship!

Congrats on becoming a Grandma - Aubrey became a grandfather in February (old man that he is:rotfl: )
We have only seen pictures of him as being on another continent doesn't allow for a quick visit:sad2:

For those of you going via Southwest, the flights are now available for booking for the times of our cruise.

Sorry I haven't posted in several months, but it's been a busy time.
In April, did AKV with DD. The parks were overly crowded with long lines. She got sick during the Pirates and Princess party and we spent the next day at the clinic. No big deal, just a GI virus. It was nice being being at AKV since we could do a lot of activities without going out from the hotel. We did a repeat visit in September with both DD and DW and stayed at Saratoga Springs. Very nice time, no crowds. We could get FastPasses, go through the regular lines, and then do the ride again using the Fast Pass line. Did Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween party. Great time. There is a lot to be said for going to these hard ticket events with their limited attendance. We still haven't got through all the candy that we received that night.

I have now decided its time to start planning for the martini, margarita, wine, bourbon, and scotch tastings .

Thanks for the heads' up....we will probably fly Southwest. I need to contact Sharon about it. :thumbsup2

Thank you!!
Yes, our very first! And I have been really, really sad that she (our daughter) doesn't live here any more. I won't get to just pop in for a baby fix whenever I need one. But at least she's on the same continent!

Booked my flight!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Thanks again, Bill! There was only one flight that worked, both coming and going, and with the holidays I'm not sure I would have remembered to look. It probably would have filled up by the time I checked.
I owe you one! :thumbsup2

How were the prices??
We are probably going to do the 7 hour drive which we normally do when going out of PC. We cruised out of FLL in November and flew down so guess we will save the $$ this time with it being the 4 of us.

We'll be driving too. I'm sure we'll stay at my sister's the night before like we did on the last cruise is '06. Do you ever check the prices on Spirit Air? I don't see many specials to Orlando but do see them to Ft. Lauderdale.

Stacey, glad you got your flight booked.

Welcome back, Tracy! The ship looks beautiful all decorated for Christmas....would love to see it in person one day. Congrats also on your upgrade.

Stace: Congrats on becoming a new grandma! That's something I would like to be, but at the moment it is not on the horizon. (Now we need to see photos of the new grandbaby!)

About $450 per person, roundtrip. We all had rewards to use, so it cost $10.

I had a feeling once Megan got married, she wouldn't waste any time. She'll be 27 in January and felt her "clock" ticking. ;)

There will probably be BILLBOARDS across the country when this baby is born. :rotfl:
I'll post pictures for sure.....but it will be just after our cruise. I hope I get there before the baby does!

Ouch! I just checked the prices and I'm really glad I don't have my final guest list yet. Jan/Feb fares were about $200 per person, prices for our cruise were $400! Amazingly, even Delta was cheaper!

Oh well, I'm not ready to book anyhow, so I'll hope for a sale while I'm waiting for guest list. We're driving in February....I'll see how that goes and consider driving in May also at these prices.

We will probably do what we normally do and book a hotel that allows us to leave our car there for the week and provides shuttles to the port.
DS wants to go to the Mickey D's in Orlando that he saw on TV so we may decide to do that - guess I need to research before I make a decision.

I have looked on Spirit air but never flown with them. I will check them out as we have a wedding coming up that we may decide to go to:goodvibes

Those are the best tickets:lmao:

Hmm I have some miles too - was planning a trip back to SA but who knows when that will happen cause I cannot stop cruising long enough to save vacation time and money for a long trip there:rotfl:
