May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

Everyone must be doing their holiday shopping and decorating:lmao: as you are all so quiet.

What are everyones plans in Tortola? Anyone been to the baths before?

No plans for Tortola yet.

I have been to The Baths 12 years ago. We had a great time there climbing on the rocks, jumping into the water & just hanging out. We were a bunch of 30-somethings & were sailing on private catamarans.

Not sure where everybody is on the ship, but i was just looking Around on the DCL site and the cat 12 is available for this cruise ....

If we droped down to the 12 from 11 we would save $350...:goodvibes

Heather, Scott and Lynn Canceled this cruise, so they can be removed from the roster..

Thanks! I'll take them off!

We're back from Disney (got back on Sunday!) We had a great time!!! Ds was surprised to find out we were staying at AKV, and he loved it! He actually gave up TV time to watch the animals:happytv: :thumbsup2 !! Monday morning I woke up SICK!! I haven't been this sick in awhile. Feeling a bit better today, hopefully I'll be 100% by the weekend!!

We had tornados yesterday and may get snow today! Crazy weather!!

I'm excited to see a premier movie on the cruise!!!

Sounds like you had a great trip - Glad DS got to enjoy the animals.
Sorry to hear you are sick and hope you are okay for the w/e.
We have had a lot of rain in GA - we need it to fill the lake so I guess that is a good thing although it makes traffic s*ck:rotfl:

Heather, sorry to hear that you're sick.

My parents are flying here today & their flight out of New Orleans was delayed due to snow there. We didn't have the tornado warnings like you had but they are saying a possibility of snow/flurries in the middle of the night. I can tell that the temperature is dropping outside ... can feel the draft through the window at work.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with that traffic ... 400 was a parking lot at 7:15 this morning. Saw it as I was passing over on one of the bridges.

Julia, do you still work in this area? I'm still at the same place.

Heather, I'm sorry you're sick, too...but glad at least that it wasn't while you were on vacation. I'm glad you had fun, I bet it was beautiful!

We're going to take a taxi to Brewer's Bay in Tortola, I think. I can't climb (due to a bad leg) and so I don't think the Baths would be a good idea for me. Plus, I know a LOT of people will be going there, and I'd rather avoid some of the crowds if we can.

A friend of mine just got back from a cruise that included Tortola, and it looks sooooo beautiful there!!

No I am contracting so currently working in midtown. Traffic is normally not too bad.
My daughter is still at school in the area so we are up there daily though.

Well, the DCL addict strikes again. DD wanted to celebrate her birthday on the ship, but we were dealing with issues of school, obligations at home, etc. Bottom line, it is worked out and she will celebrate her 18th in Palo in February.

Yes, for anyone who is a little slow....that does mean that I booked another one! And soon!

Lucky daughter! Have a blast.

Heather, did you get snow last night? We didn't. Some part of Louisiana got lots of snow. Lots of pictures emailed to me from cousins. Looks like they had a blast.

Whoo Hoo - love Palo's. Has she been before? I thought it was adult only - on DCL what age is that?

My kids don't know about this cruise yet:rotfl:

It's 18 to go to Palo. We have some friends who are taking their 18 yr old son at Christmas for his first trip to Palo. He's one kid who can really do the buffet justice!

Anybody other than me wish they were here??

On DCL, 18 years old is an adult for all activities, etc. except alcohol. The drinking age is 21. So, yes, she will be an official adult for her 18th birthday. We had to jump thru some hoops and get DCL to over-ride the computer system because it keeps you at your age on boarding for the entire cruise. I KNEW this could happen because we had the same issue when she turned 13 and wanted to do "The Wild Side" teen excursion. Bottom line is that if you are the appropriate age on the day of the activity they can make it happen, but we can't do it on line.

Yes, Christmas pics of the Magic or WDW always make me wish....but we have heavy duty church obligations here. One year I ditched the last choir concert to do WDW......

I'm thinking of packing for my Feb. trip as soon as school is out. I won't wear those clothes in 20-30 degree weather, so may as well get ready to go, right? February and May....did I die and go to DCL heaven?
