Sandi, sorry you won't be on this cruise - but I think the Alaskan cruise is a GREAT idea!! We're hoping to do one in the near future. What cruise line and itinerary are you planning?

Like Angie said, please stop by the blabbermouth thread when you can and let everyone know how your family's doing.

Right now we're looking at Princess 7-day land and 7-day cruise. Larry and Caleb want the land tour to the Arctic Circle that goes from Anchorage to Denali to Fairbanks to Coldfoot to Prudoe Bay then fly back to Anchorage, followed by the cruise from Whittier to Vancouver. Sounded like fun to me! I hadn't been on the Blabbermouth thread for awhile, but see where the OhioMouse family is moving to FL soon.

14 days sounds nice! Have a great time. Maybe we'll make it Alaska when the girls get older. I have a feeling this will be our last Disney cruise. It's getting too expensive for us.

Heather, I'm so sorry to hear this. It is amazing how once they are ready to go how quickly it can happen. My condolences and prayers go to you and your family at this difficult time.

Heather,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss-keeping your family in our prayers...

Sandi,

We did an 7 night Alasksan cruise in May of last year with RCL. It was incredible - the views were...spectacular...which is a word that doesn't really do the scenery justice. We left Seattle, went to Juneau, (whale watching trip and saw Mendenhall Glacier), Skagway, Tracy Arms Fjord and Prince Rupert. We lucked out and had sunny weather the entire week - you won't regret your decision!

Heather: so very sorry to hear of your loss.......hopefully your dad is in a better place and finally free of all the pain and suffering. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.

I have been out of town so much recently, I am having a hard time keeping up with all the threads. Our PC cruise is just a little over 3 weeks away. I wish I could say I've been spending all my time over on that thread but that one moves way too fast for me. Im just gonna rely on my trusty TA  to let me know where and when I need to be!

Yowsa...that's not good!

Hi everyone.....I'll focus more on this cruise when I return from the PC crossing.

With just 24 days til we leave for another cruise, well lets just say

Hello to everyone. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. It has been a hard time and I know for me it is finally setting in and hitting me when I least expect it. We have been busy with trying to get everything switched to my mothers name and notifying everyone who needs to know about dad.

Also we have been keeping busy getting Brandon ready for school. He starts back on Thursday. Also, since we have INsurance we have been getting established at the Doctors and the Dentist. Yesterday he had an appointment with a new dentist...then later that day we got fit in at the Orthodontist office. Today we went back for the "records" (i think of it as impressions) and he get his braces on tomorrow! I'm so not used to getting into a dr's office that quick. SInce this area is still small and they don't double and tripple book appointments like they did in Florida I've found that at least for the dentist offices and ortho offices they are happy to get your business and fit you right in. It's great.

We cancelled our 1st Anniversary trip to the beaches for August 18th. Now is not the time to go. Mom is headed to Fl in a couple weeks to spend time with her mom. I'm going to try to start a transcription course online in the next couple of weeks too.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi all. Bumping us from Page 2.

To all of you getting ready to cruise, have fun!

Heather, glad you checked in. I've been thinking about you. Hang in there!

I'm now working part-time ... well, it's more than part-time because I'm working 32 hours per week. I get off at 2:00 now. The girls don't start school until Monday so we've been enjoying our afternoons ... just wish it wasn't so darn H-O-T!!!

Good to hear from you, Heather. You've just been through a very rough period. Sending lots of :pixiedust: and :hug:s

Very busy making final arrangements for the PC cruise. When we get back, THIS will be our next sailing, so I plan to start serious posting!

Good morning all. It's the 1st day of school for most in metro-ATL. It was a heartbreaking morning for me. Ashley was crying as the school bus pulled away. I could tell she was really upset ... her face was red & she had that sad look on her face. At least she was sitting in the seat with Emily. She was soooo excited this morning. When I went to get her up this morning, she was already sitting on her bed and asked what took me so long to go get her up. She got ready early & was still excited at the bus stop. I think she got nervous as she was boarding. Hopefully she'll have a good day & will have lots of exciting stories to tell me this afternoon.

Awe Ang, I'm sorry to hear Ashley got upset as she was getting on the bus. My ds used to have bad panic attacks and for a few years it was really bad the first week of school. At times I couldn't even get him to school until an hour or so later. I know how upsetting it is to watch them walk/or pull away on the bus and they are upset. I'm sure once she gets to school and gets busy she'll be OK!!

Brandon's first day was last thursday, and I tell ya, I was surprised that he offered to ride the bus the first day! No panic attacks. He got home TWO hours after school let out because of bad storms that came through right as school was letting out. :scared1: But he was fine (had a mini panic attack) and is still riding the bus! He got his braces in the day before school and I don't think he realized how much he couldn't eat anymore. No popcornpopcorn:: for 2 years! Oh my!

Ang, be sure to tell us how Ashley's first day was once she gets home!!:goodvibes

Just wanted to let everyone know that Ashley did have a good at school yesterday. She said that she was nervous that she wouldn't be able to find her classroom or be able to figure out where to go after school. Her big sister took care of her & got her to her classroom in the morning.

Hey, Ang! Glad to hear Ashley was fine! :goodvibes Big sisters sometimes show their true feelings for little sis, don't they?!

I don't know how your girls' school handles the pick-up lane or how the school is set up, but I'll tell you what a bunch of us used to do at Keheley Elementary (Cobb County). We'd park (there were always spaces available on the far side of the lot) and walk up near the front of the school and wait until the kids were released to escort them to the car. It was nice to get out in the fresh air and it was a fun way to see - or meet - the other moms! (I really miss those days :sad1: Tori's in 10th grade now!)

I'll have to find out what our school allows for the pick-up. The parking lot was empty so I certainly could have parked. The way the drive-thru line works is that each car has a #. As you're driving through the line, a teacher is going to down the line & radioing your # in on a walkie-talkie. They release the kids to the covered breezeway based on their carpool #. By the time you get to the covered breezeway, your child is waiting. I wonder if I could just walk up with my carpool # instead.
