Yikes...only 18 days to go?!?!?!? Anyone else in a situation where your summer clothes may not (pretty much don't) fit?? So I am waiting until the last possible minute to see if I need new ones...trying to get off at least a few of these lousy 8 lbs I picked up since last summer...ugh!!! I may be shopping the day before the cruise at this point...so frustrating!!!

Pretty much with you. Though i have said the weight i am as of yesterday is the weight i'll be by mid to late-cruise and clothes have to fit as of yesterday. I'm assuming i can shift about 4lbs before saildate. This way if something fits me now it'll fit me through the cruise.

I've done the last minute new clothes buying before and made the mistake of buying stuff that just about fits at my new low weight at holiday minus 3 days, and then by 7 days in they don't fit because i've eaten "well" while on holiday. :rolleyes1popcorn:::rolleyes1

Thanks...you're right, your mind will be in two places too! I really hope she's doing well so far, and does better and better all the time. :flower3:

Thanks Stacey! SHe is doing better now...still working on getting her body/system used to the dialysis and pulling the fluids off of her. Her blood pressure drops so low ( 90/48 today) and she gets sick and almost passes out. But the last two times she has walked out on her own!!

OH MY!!!!!!! Are you packed yet??? You must be an old pro at packing for cruises now, huh??

I keep freaking out, looking at the calendar trying to make appointments for me, ds and mom. I'm putting off an appt for my wrists until after the cruise. We're running out of time to get everything done! LOL Ok, need to start packing again this weekend!!! I just can't believe we only have 18 days left...where has the time gone???

Is there anything that your mom can drink, like gatorade or whatever, that would maybe help with the blood pressure/blood sugar? Just so she isn't so wobbly afterward?

I'm freaking out too. Too many appts that I'm trying to fit in. If I were only going to be gone a week it might not be so bad....but to be turning around and leaving again for a month and a half.....I was so exhausted today I crashed at 4:00. I had my blood drawn for cholesterol, got my prescriptions I wanted for the cruise, packed and sent (UPS) the box of extra clothes and stuff to Omaha, came home and did a few things, then had to run down to the Mini dealer to pick up mine which had been serviced.....just mostly running around with a few other stops in there.
Anyway, since I was fasting in the morning, I forgot to eat later and truly crashed when I got home. Stupid!!!!

Finally have a day off Thursday. But have a long, long one tomorrow. We are doing a party in a member's home. It started out with about 50 people & has now grown to almost 150. It is an open house for their new home. And I have heard it is beautiful & HUGE!! But then all the homes where I work are beautiful & huge. This poor dear, though has just had a double mastectomy 3 weeks ago. What a brave women she is to take this on. She actually emailed me 2 days ago & said she'd pay me extra to stay & clean up. I emailed her back & told her that is what we do. Half hour after her last guest leaves, she will never know she had a party in her house. We clean up everything, move everything back to where it belongs, and she can just enjoy her guests. They actually have a Show Case garage for all his exotic cars. Can you even imagine. They've even hired a band to play in the garage so all their friends can enjoy. They are just wonderful people & I can't even imagine how they can seem so normal, but have so much wealth. That's why I love my job. These members are just so wonderful & 'human.' They are really so caring & real. They know what has happened in my life & really care. I guess that's the difference between old money & the new rich.

Part of me says "You lucky stinking duck!" And part agrees with Heather :scared1::scared1:

I'll feel lucky on May 14, right now freaking out! I've started packing. We've been talking about it for weeks, but started yesterday when I realized the stress of not starting was getting to me. Other than socks and underwear, everything is out on the guest bed. Now, I just have to pack it. Today is laundry, tomorrow lots of work stuff and Friday whatever is left. Our flight leaves at 6 am Saturday :scared1:

Wow, hard to belive some of you are leaving so soon. Picked up my nephew at the airport, he is down from NY until Sunday to see Mom. So we have to entertain until then. Ds # 2 is not working yet, so they are off to the beach and some job hunting. The beaches and restaurants are being very careful with the summer hires not knowing what the summer is going to be like, so places are telling him to come back after memorial day.

Have a great day all.

You have a Mini?? Do you love it? My DH has always wanted one, but I am not so crazy about them...anyway, he decided he would get himself a "toy" car and he checked out a Mini convertible and a Saturn Sky convertible...in the end the Sky won...probably because of me! But I actually did like the Mini convertible...very cute and lots of nice features. So just wondering how you like your Mini....he will get one at some point!

Just got a text/pic from my sister...she is at Disney World right now! I didn't even know they were going (we live 300 miles apart). Guess she got a postcard in the mail with the free dining plan and it was a good deal so they jumped on it! Oh, how I wish I were there!
But only 17 more days to go til I see Mickey again:banana:

My husband and son had to convince me, and it took them almost 3 years! We kept going in and test driving....probably drove the dealership crazy. But I'm glad we waited, because we got the Clubman, which is just a bit bigger (I can actually put groceries in the back) and I like it much better than just the Mini.

And YES! I love my baby. My license plate says "ZIPPIDY".

I had wanted the Pontiac Soltice....2 seater roadster...but since we still have Jared at home, we decided we'd need the backseat for a while yet.

My other car, by the way, is a YukonXL....it's weird to switch back and forth between the two.

That's the difference between old money and new money usually.

If you weren't coming with us to Alaska, I'd be mad at you. Thanks for the good wishes.

Hi everyone! I can't believe we only have 17 days left? I'm excited but I haven't even begun to think about packing!!! We've had a lot going on. The girls have all kinds of the end of year things wrapping up. That is CONSUMING our afternoons & evening. Then there's that little thing called work that gets in the way.

This past weekend (& Monday) we went dishwasher & fridge shopping. My dishwasher died (well, actually started leaking & ruined my hardwood floor) in Dec. & we've been eating off of paper plates & handwashing since. It was time to get a new one!!! DH decided that the fridge is right next to the dishwasher so we "needed" a new one of those if we were switching to stainless. The microwave & oven will have to wait until later.

Decided to have a party at our house on Sat. Nothing like having people over to get your house cleaned! So, somehow between now & Sat., I've got to get my house cleaned ... ugh! At least it'll be still somewhat clean when we head out for the cruise.

Still waiting to see what Carnival is going to do with our June 18th cruise. So far they have cancelled all 4-night cruises out of New Orleans up until June 15th.

Very cute...yes, we saw the bigger "Mini", but he wanted a convertible. The Solstice is pretty much the same car as the Saturn Sky...front end is a little different. My DH drives a Tacoma pickup and I drive a Toyota Rav 4...so big difference going from the Sky to either of those!! But it's fun! I wil be sure to show him this pic of your Mini...he will love it!

I've been busy today getting all our paperwork in order, attempting to make my FE, getting pirate night gear somewhat together and I got to thinking about what we'll be doing each night.

Does anyone have a list of what night would be formal night :cutie:, pirate night pirate:, simi formal :cool2:, etc and which restaurant we would be in for each? We are in the early dining rotation.

I'm trying to get an idea as far as if we'll be on the ship during the day or an at sea day.

Thanks!!

I'd have to look back at the thread on the Main Boards, but I do remember that Formal night will be Sunday night and Pirate Night will be the night we're in Tortola. And I want to say that semi-formal night is usually the 2nd to the last night onboard.

Yep...I just double checked with the first Tortola group.

Sunday night.....Formal
Tuesday night....Pirate
Thursday night....Semi-formal

All others are casual.

And this is regardless of which seating or rotation you have. It's all the same.
