Coming straight from airport to theme park - parking

Am I correct, the only way to not pay for theme park parking when going to a theme park straight from the airport is doing online check in for my resort. Just having tickets and a resort showing on my MDE and using a magicband at the theme park parking entrance will not waive the parking fee?

I would go ahead and do the mobile check-in, just in case.

If for whatever reason you do have to pay the parking fee, just show the receipt to your resort front desk, and they'll credit your account for that amount.
