Prayers and pixie dust work!!

Megan is back from the doctor, and her blood pressure was back down closer to normal and the other test showed a slight elevation in protein, but not enough to worry about.
She can now be out of bed, but has to rest more often and elevate the feet.
She doesn't have to go back until next week.

WHEW.:worship:

What a relief! Tell her to take advantage of the "feet up" and rest rest rest! Her body is working very hard taking care of that little one and she deserves to rest.

Thanks guys. Trust me, she's the type to DEFINITELY take advantage if she's told to rest.

For some of you who don't know the whole story, and who may be wondering why I'm cruising so close to Megan's due date in the first place, this is the story.

In 2006, a group of gals called the Escaping Moms....including me and Sharon, went on the Sept 11 Night DCL cruise. The day we got on the ship, but had not yet sailed away, Sharon got a phone call that her sister had passed away, and she had to leave the ship and fly home.
The next Mom's cruise was the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise, which Sharon had planned on taking, and had to cancel at the last moment due to her husband's passing. The insurance company would not give Sharon her money back, but Disney Cruise Line was kind enough to offer her another cruise.....which she chose as this one, with her daughter and me.
There were a couple of other trips we'd also tried to take together, and things got in the way....and in general, with the passing of her Mom also, it's been a miserable several years for my friend.
We had this trip all planned out before Megan even knew she was pregnant. Megan agrees 100% that I should take the cruise, have fun with Sharon, and just fly to Omaha as soon as I can.
So I will fly up there 2 days after I get home from the cruise. First I have to re-pack my things and make sure my son has everything ready for his trip to Europe on June 9th....or I would have probably flown straight from Florida to Omaha.
I will be checking my e-mail onboard every day, and will probably be distracted and a nervous wreck......but by golly, I'll still be on DCL and still be able to swim in the ocean!!

Sorry this was long and probably boring...but I worried that some people maybe wouldn't understand, and probably still don't.....but that's my story.

Thanks guys. Trust me, she's the type to DEFINITELY take advantage if she's told to rest.

That makes perfect sense! I completely understand you not wanting to cancel again. I'm glad your daughters okay!:)

I'm glad to hear your daughter is doing MUCH better!!! And we all understand your situation. I'll be on the "same boat" with you as far as being on the cruise, yet being distracted with things back home. (mom's dialysis).

I will keep thinking of your and your family!!

Thanks...you're right, your mind will be in two places too! I really hope she's doing well so far, and does better and better all the time. :flower3:

Now that today is almost over......

ONLY 19 DAYS UNTIL WE SAIL!!!!!

That sounds like a whole lot less than 2 weeks, 5 days.

If this is her first baby, you know it will show up late. Especially if its a GIRL. :)

:rotfl::rotfl:

Well, we already know it's a boy....but his mother was over 2 weeks late (back before they induced) and his dad is late for everything......

Stacey- thanks for explaining things. And you are right. It has been a horrible couple of years for Kaylah & I. But, hopefully it is all over with & we are on the mend. But it still makes me sick to my stomach every time I think of Ken. I miss him so. And I want my sister back & my mom. Life is just a bit** sometimes. But that is the hand I've been dealt, so somehow I'm learning to live with it.
Am SO glad Meghan is doing better. What a scare for all of you. I'd be in panic mode if my daughter lived that far away. But if you need to change flights & fly to be with her, I'd surely understand.
But only 19 days to go! That has certainly sent me into panic mode! I still need to do so much. Number one is to get some tan on this pasty white body. But maybe tomorrow I can start trying on clothes. Or what the heck, I will just throw them all in a suitcase & hope they fit. I actually have a day off Thursday and can maybe get some stuff done then.

Y'know it so good to see friends who stick together through everything. I'd be proud to have friends that look after each other tlike you two do.

Am really sorry to hear about all the tragedy over the past few years for you Sharon. On top of your mad job, you really do deserve this vacation. Hope you have as good a time as I am planning on having. :grouphug:

And Stacey, glad to hear your daughter is doing better now. I remember my mum had really high blood pressure when she had my sister (my sister is 12 yrs younger than me) and until they sorted it out she was sick as a dog. but once they got her resting she really enjoyed the last few weeks of the preganancy - who wouldn't lying around being waited on hand and foot? :rolleyes1

I packed my bags yesterday - getting really close to the Delta internal flight weight limit and still some stuff to buy. Am going to have to give DH the FE gifts to bring in his hand luggage (he flies out 5 days after me) and might end up carrying shoes in mine. :lmao:

Good for her. She just needs to apy attention to her doctor and pamper herself, cause she will never sit still again:rotfl:
