May 20th 2006 Western Magic Cruise - Who's Going?

Off the topic, sorry. Tonights Trading Spouses TV show has my nieghbor on it. We live in Brewster, NY. I don't know her well, but see her around town all the time. Can't wait to see how they portray her.

Ok, I'm SO confused. So are we going to Cozumel or Costa Maya????

That's what I get for being in The Bahamas for the last 6 days!

Looks like Cozumel. How were the Bahamas? I'm jealous.

I was actually kind of psyched for Costa Maya - more ruins to explore!!!!

The Bahamas was fabulous!!! Great weather, great shopping and I'm sporting a "winter" bronze! We completely de-stressed and relaxed.

Good for you. Where did you stay? I contacted Dolphin Discovery. They told me it will be awhile before they can resume the Dolphin Program. They are hoping for March. Costa Maya would be fine, but DD wants so badly to do the Dolphin thing. Even if we go to Cozumel, the Dolphin Discovery might not be running, so I guess it's just a matter of wait and see.

We stayed at RIU. I really wanted to stay at Atlantis but DH wouldn't budge because it's $$$$ which I know - but I just LOVE that place.

I thought they had some dolphin thing in GC?! I have to check my passpoter. If Cozumel doesn't work out, is she old enuff to do Stingray City in the Caymen's?

BTW, what dinner seating time do you have?

Yes, both of my kids are old enough to do the stingray city tour. we are definately doing it. I did speak to someone on the phone at Dolphin Discovery to cancel our reservations. He told me they are now "hoping" for a May opening date. So I figured I will just get a refund now. Even if we do go to Cozumel, we can always do something else. No big deal. The cruise is our main thing. We will enjoy it no matter where we go. We are a "Disney" family, and just really looking forward to the cruise time. We chose 2nd seating and have requested the 8:00pm rotation. On my last cruise we had early seating and found ourselves always running to get back on the boat and shower for dinner. I hate rushing. I figure if the kids are really hungry and can't wait we can just order room service or bring them to the buffet and then to the kids club. No worries. :sunny:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

Woke up to a few inches of snow here in NY. Looks like they may not have the balloons up at the Macy's Parade today. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed they can. The kids just love watching it on TV. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Thanks, anty30! Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone, too!

Yuck, snow! We had temps in the 60s yesterday but today highs will only be in the 40s. I sure hope Macy's can get the balloons up as watching it has always been a holiday tradition at our house since I was a little kid.

Check your pm's...please!

Let's re-address pirate night - would anyone be interested in dressing up? pirate:

Or does everyone prefer tropical wear?

a question really for those of us who are sitting at the same table!

DH and I and DD, 21, will be dressing up as pirates on pirate night. DH and I dressed up as pirates at MNSSHP this past October and had a blast. It was really fun to dress up and helped get us in the spirit of things. The MK's CMs seemed to really enjoy everyone that was in costume too. I've heard the CMs on the ships really like it when guests dress in pirate costumes too!

I put my outfit together from the clearance rack, goodwill, and the dollar store. I bought DH's at Walmart for less than $20. DD is planning on putting her outfit together too.

Here is a link to a picture of DH and I from MNSSHP.

That is a great pic. My DS is bringing his pirate costume. He is a big pirate fan, we even had a pirate party one year for his birthday with a treasure hunt and walking the plank. My DD has the Minnie Mouse pirate ears from our visit to WDW this past July. I doubt she will go much further than that with a costume. Everything embarrasses her at this age. As for myself, I bought a t-shirt at Target that has skulls and crossbones ($5). I will probably get DH a similar t-shirt. I will look for do-rags for us too. I think it will be really fun. That is Wed. night, right?

anty they give you a pirates of carribean bandana scarf at dinner on pirate night. It's red with black lettering. My boys wore theres with there pirate customs for halloween this year. pirate:

What a great photo! I want my DH and I to both dress in full pirate costume and I can't seem to get him past a shirt, do-rag and hat! I LOVE dressing up and especially in pirate gear - how fun! I've got 5 mos to work on him and I've been checking some on-line costume shops for some bargains! pirate:

Thanks! I was surprised that I got DH to dress up but once he did, he really had fun.

anty30, I'm pretty sure pirate's night is the night we are in Cozumel which is on Wednesday.

Take him to the margarita tasting first and then give him his costume to put on! LOL!
