May 20th 2006 Western Magic Cruise - Who's Going?

Oh Donmil ~ that's awful! I hope all will be alright by then since it sounds like it will be a much needed cruise!

:grouphug:

Question. If you fill out all the forms online on the DCL website, do you have to fill out the forms they send also? I am a little confused about what I filled out online. I registered the kids, gave flight info, and gave passport info. I also stated that only DH and I will have charging privilages. Is that all I need to do? :confused3

I was just going to ask the same question! I also filled out all the forms last night on line. :confused3

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that DH fell this week when sorting cattle and dislocated his shoulder and tore his rotator cuff. He is scheduled to have surgery to repair it on Tuesday providing nothing else shows up Monday during his CT scan. His doctor thinks he will still be able to go on the cruise barring any complications. I checked with our travel insurance and they said as long as his doctor clears him to go, he would be covered if anything happened to his shoulder on the cruise and he needed medical assistance. So, please keep him in your prayers that the surgery goes well and there are no complications! He's really nervous as he had the same surgery on the same shoulder 4 1/2 years ago following another injury on the farm and a 2nd dislocation during his sleep.

I'm really superstitious now because we had to reschedule our 1st Disney cruise in 2003 because my father became ill (and passed away 3 days later) while we were at WDW and we had to return home the day before our cruise. Thankfully, I did get home in time to be with my Dad. We finally took that cruise in May, 2004 and rebooked this one while on board. If we don't get to take this cruise, I will never book another because I will be so scared that something bad will happen. :sad2:

So please keep him in your prayers! Thanks!

Donna

I hope Everything goes well with the surgery. :grouphug: maybe all he needs is a little Disney "Magic" though :wizard:

I also filled out the forms online and see under step 4 that you only need to bring the Online Check In Signature Form to the port. Do I dare trust this? I'll take everything, just in case!

Thanks MacandCo :thumbsup2

OK everybody. My family and I will be wearing matching Disney t-shirts when we get onboard the first day. I ordered from zazzle and they have the cuties on front and our names on back with a big 2006. That is how you will know us. Anybody else get matching tees? The zazzle ones are very good quality, but I do find they run a bit big. Can't wait to put them on. :cool1:  :sunny: :bounce:

Hi everybody,

before our cruise we are staying at the Caribbean Beach. Is it true that I can check in for our cruise at the hotel? Anyone ever done this?

I thouht that this applied if you were doing a Disney land and sea trip that was the 3 or 4 night cruise. :confused3

Has a meet been organized yet for the May 20th cruise? Just wondering? I have no suggestion since this is my first cruise so I don't know what to offer up as suggestions?

I am in the same situation because this is our first cruise also! It seems so overwhelming because there's always something going on! And I can imagine with a 3 year old and an infant, we will be busy! It seems that inbetween dinner times/show times would be a little bit of a crunch. I think it would be best to leave it to the "experts" on this one!! You guys know what to even expect where I will probably be the one standing in shock as I enter the boat.....just look for me....short blonde holding a baby, frozen stiff, with my mouth wide open! Okay, I am sleep deprived. BTW...how many days do we have? My daughter tells me EVERY day at least 10 times that she wants to go on the Disney boat. We are marking her calendar off but it came come soon enough!

I'm kind of thinking the only time we all be in the same place is during the Sail Away Celebration. It seems like a logical choice. The fire drill is at 4 and then the celebration is at 4:30. I am assuming most of us will be on deck 9 near the entertainment. Maybe we can all stick around afterwards to meet and greet with eachother for a few minutes. I know my family will be headed to the first show at 6:15, so maybe if we meet up at the sail away and then stick around for an extra 15 min. that would work. :confused3
Any thoughts on this from you veteran cruisers?

That sounds good but how will we all know each other? Lime green ribbons?

What 6:15 show are you talking about? :confused3 This is our first cruise so I have not a clue what to expect.

I plan on wearing a dis green paint chip pin with my screen name on it. :thumbsup2 That sounds like a good plan after sail away. :thumbsup2

Mishetta, I am talking about the "Let the Magic Begin" show in the theater at 6:15. It is at 6:15 for guests with late dinner and at 8:30 for guests with early dinner. Since we have 8pm dinner, we go to the 6:15 show. :) Anty

I have been reading the new Navigators for info. Check them out at www dot castaway club dot com
(I am not allowed to post the actual link).

Ribbons sound great. Pins too. I guess either one will be fine.

I cannot wait to hear a trip report from those getting off the Magic today. I am dying to see how Cozumel is doing, and I wonder if they will switch us back to Costa Maya if it was really bad. :confused3

I am confused with the Key West time change and the Coz time change. I was also confused about my flight info in my online check-in because I entered the correct flights, but then when I checked it would be different by an hour. So I called DCL and told the rep about this and she told me it is because the website is off by an hour due to the daylight savings time. They have not updated it. Strange. :confused3

Hi Everyone!

GREAT NEWS! DH had his surgery on Tuesday and his doctor just had to remove a bone chip from the head of his humerus and repair/stabilize the joint. His rotator cuff only had a partial tear so no repair was needed for it! Thank God or else he would have needed two surgeries to fix all the damage to his shoulder and we wouldn't have been able to go on this cruise with all of you--our new Disfriends! But, as long as nothing else unexpected happens (can you tell I'm a little skittish?), we'll be on the Magic on May 20th! HOORAY! DH will still have some limitations--won't be able to swim or snorkel and might need to keep his arm in a sling/immobilizer--won't know for sure until after he starts therapy in about 3 weeks! Thanks for the prayers and good wishes!

Well, now that the cruise looks like its a "GO" for us, I'm ready to think about a dismeet again. My first choice is a meet at the Sail Away Party! I think wearing lime green ribbons or pins is a great idea!

Its a big ship though and almost everyone will be at the party so we need a general area and time to meet. On our first and only Disney cruise, we were on Deck 10, midship, where we could watch the dancing/characters around the Goofy Pool as well as watch from the railing as we actually left Port Canaveral. It gets really crowded on Deck 9 so I would suggest meeting on Deck 10, starboard (which I think will be on the side of the DCL terminal) either midship or by the Outlook Bar on Deck 10 at 5 or 5:15 p.m. Of course, other cruisers with more DCL cruise experience might have a better suggestion on place and time at the Sail Away Party.

My second choice would be at 11 or 11:30 in the terminal before boarding.

In the meantime, HAPPY EASTER to all of you!

Donna

Happy Easter Everyone. :sunny:

Donmil, I am so glad that everything has gone well with your DH. :cool1:

I think we should do both of the suggestions from donmil, :grouphug: 11:30 in the terminal and 5:15 on deck 10 near goofy pool. I, or someone in my family will be wearing a dis green pin from the moment we leave Texas. So if you see me (pin) at MCO, buget, publix, Radisson, out for dinner please feel free to come over and say hello. princess:

Donmil, yeah for you and DH. Pixie dust worked! pixiedust:

Sounds like a plan with regard to a dismeet. Cant wait to meet all of you. :grouphug: party:

Im glad everything went well donmil :thumbsup2

ok...So I guess we've all come to a conuclusion Sail away party is best! What we did for myfirst time at thesailaway party was meet on Deck 10, the side by the stack oposite the stage (so you can see the characters dead-on)(look at map bleow) and we met when ever we could make it to the sailaway till about dinner time (or when we had to go to our roooms to change). We also used the paintchips foridentification(with screennames on them if you can) Sound like a good plan?

only 34 more days!!! :hourglass

Great directions DCDevil. Thanks. Sounds great. Just one question: what do you do with the paint chips? Go to Home D, bring them home, write your screenname on it and then what? Double-sided tape? I know I sound like a ding dong, but I really dont know. Also, lime green, right? :confused3

Yes, Lime green. I wear my paint chip on my pin lanyard. This I found most conveniant for me, others used tape, some got a safteypin, just find some way :)

And Happy Easter everyone!
