May 20th 2006 Western Magic Cruise - Who's Going?

ok....It looks like we are all agreed on the DisMeet... Sailaway party Deck 10 (post 318)

What time did we say for the sailaway party? Since this our first time, we'll have to see the land go away and then I guess meet you guys!

Also, are we still trying to have a meet-up in the terminal? I know that was mentioned before but I don't have time to try to find the post! I will be running around with an infant and a 3 year old and will probably get to the port at 10 or shortly after (checkout for us is 10am).

I guess everyone is waiting by the mail box :sunny:

They should be coming any day, right? I know this sounds bad but today I ran to the mailbox before getting my 2nd child out of the car! :) Just a little anxious.... :yay:

:wave2: I am here and happy to be going soon. :cool1: :yay:
All I can think about is the cruise. I will be at the terminal by 10:30. That is our plan. Also, for anyone staying at the Radisson, we will be at the pool all day Friday. :sunny:

Kimsue68 and her sister got upgraded from 12 to 10. :thumbsup2 The wholl family will be at the Radisson Friday but not until around 6. You will hear us come in. :cheer2: :wave2: :tink:

anyone got their documents yet? I am so ready....praying for an upgrade but dreams has an assigned state room for each of our three rooms..I doubt it...but still hoping!!

At the start of the Sailaway Party we are still In oport, so it is better to meet before at the begining , you can come with me when I leave @ about 5:20 or so when we actually leave behind all of Florida, by 5:30 we are in complete Ocean!!!

24 days!!! :hourglass

I'm a first time cruiser! I'm not as excited as all you guys....I keep thinking
"Titanic" & it doesn't help any that my name is "Rose" either! :sad2: Thankfully, my DH's name is not Jack! :teeth: ;)

Anyway, just to also add that we'll be staying at the Pop Century the night before & our 2 boys will be with us (ages 10 & 4).

See you all soon!

OK, my girlfriend just got back and I am going to copy and paste the email I received from her about DCL:

Ant,
Everything was spectacular -- leave it to Disney! From start to finish, everything was perfect. Stewart airport, Allegiant air, Budget rental, Radisson/shuttle, Cruise, Budget rental, SeaWorld, Holiday Inn/shuttle, Sanford Orlando airport, Allegiant air, HOME!! It was so perfect (no snags) we were just waiting for something to go wrong...

The Radisson was great. The kids had so much fun at the pool & the restaurant. We took the 10:30am shuttle to the ship so we had a leisurely morning and bfst at the hotel. We checked in at the cruise terminal early, sat for around 1 1/2 hours and then boarded the ship. While we waited we checked out the model of the ship, watched some Donald Duck cartoons and met up w/Goofy & Minnie. The time there flew and before you know it they were announcing "The Guirys" in the Atrium. From there we did lunch at Parrot Cay and then Terry took the kids to the pool & checked out the entire ship. Meanwhile, I went to our rooms (adjoining staterooms = 2 bathrooms and plenty of space to move around) and put out some goodie bags from Mickey. I had previously ordered Easter Baskets to be delivered for the kids. I hid them in the closet so that I could put them out on Easter morning. That was cool bcs I didn't have to pack Easter baskets. I did bring plastic Easter eggs with candy and quarters in them for an egg hunt. Although, Disney did have an Easter Egg Hunt and activities for the kids. The rest of our time there was great. The kids loved the Oceaneer's Club/Lab and we all loved the pools & shows & movies (Disney's new movie "The Wild" was playing at the Buena Vista Theatre). All of the adults in our party enjoyed the SPA experience and Palo was out of this world. The food on the entire trip was awesome. We especially enjoyed the fruit and cookies in the afternoon. Sean must have eaten 200 slices of Pinnocchio's pizza. He had to have it everyday -- that and a Mickey Ice Cream bar for dessert at dinner.

At St. Thomas we went to Magen's Bay Beach. It was truly beautiful -- real paradise...Terry went and played golf that day. We shopped in the afternoon while docked at St. Maarten. That morning is when we booked most of our spa treatments and went to the pools on Deck 9 -- the ship was almost empty!

Castaway Cay leaves me speechless. I wish they could dock the boat there for 3 days and we could go on & off as we please. It was soooo beautiful and there's so much to do there. The BBQ was the best meal of the trip (Palo was a close second). Lauren and Terry went to Castaway Ray's Sting ray adventure. It was really cool. they fed and snorkeled with the sting rays. And, of course Lauren got her hair braided by one of twelve bahamian women. She doesn't ever want to take it out. Jack was so content floating on a tube in the gentle waves and playing in the sand. He loved the slide into the Mickey pool on board the best and trying new foods.

My sis, who was with us, has done many cruises in the past and rated this the best ever!! She said she has never experienced anything so smooth as far as getting on and off the ship. Other cruise lines are a nightmare.

I am so, so, so happy we did this. I did miss going to the parks, though. So I think if we do it again -- very, very likely -- we'll do a 4 night cruise and stay at WDW for 5-6 days.

Thanks for all of your input and tips -- we took you up on almost everything. Now I'm jealous bcs you're going next month!

I'll see you soon. I can't wait to get our pictures back on Friday...

Thanks again,
Anne

so, it sounds like we will all be having a fabulous time. :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

Julie, thanks so much for keeping the list updated :grouphug: , your the greatest princess: We will be going to universal for the week after the cruise, I haven't been there in about 13 yrs. If you have any tips or recommendations please send me a message. I do read the univeral board and will not be staying on site. :sunny:
Have a great trip. We will going to Lion King Broadway production in San Antonio TX this weekend. My boys are :bounce: :bounce: .

Echo, I just booked a Universal trip for July. We were able to get flights out of NY for $69 each way and got that great "kids are free" special. We are staying at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott. Four nights plus they give you a rental car with the package. Could'nt turn it down. Since we are doing the cruise in May, and then Universal in July, and then Jamaica in Feb., my husband has informed me that we will not be going back to Disney til 2008. :sad2: As a matter of fact, this is what he is going to do to my computer :badpc: .

:lmao: :rotfl2: My DH would like to do the same thing :badpc: Since we are not ready for a Med with dcl for next year, I booked with RCCL for spring break of 2007. My DH does not wont book on board this trip, for maybe 2008 but the wheels are moving in my head :smooth: that if this trip is really really good he may concider it  .

What airline did you get that great fare from? Southwest? We'll be driving...can't get a good deal out of Detroit.

Hi everyone! Who is staying at Ron Jon's? We tried to get the radisson but they were booked. It seems everyone has mentioned Radisson and Residence Inn. Ron Jon's looks like it has great water activities! Do they also have a playground area or play area? Please fill me in on details! We will be flying in Thursday and staying for 2 nights.
Thanks!

Next Friday, meaning MAY 5th? Uhhh...I was hoping for this week! A whole other week.....can time go by any slower? Why does time fly by anyother time except now?

Air Tran Airways. And the real beauty is that we can fly out of Westchester County Airport which is 20 min. away, as opposed to the hour it would take to get to LaGaurdia or JFK. For the cruise we are flying American out of Lagaurdia and paid $165 rt. Not bad, but not great. :sunny:
