After some hakuna matatas, we have our fastpasses for Kilimanjaro’s Safaris (10:30-11:30). We won’t have to rush to get there!

It’ll be time to visit the Yeti, (fastpass 11:30-12:30).

After our expedition, I’m thinking we will be hungry for some lunch! I really enjoy Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes. But I’ve read some good reviews about Flame Tree Barbecue’s ribs. James loves ribs. Anyone reading ever try their ribs?? Or have experience with getting food at one counter service and walking to another to eat? Maybe I’ll get my dish and bring it to Flame Tree BBQ.

It’ll probably be around 1 as we finish up lunch. Next stop? Dinosaur!! We will wait standby for this, but that’s fine! I LOVE Dinosaur. It was my second favorite ride next to Splash on my first trip.

After Dinosaur, we will check out the rest of Dinoland USA:

Has anyone ever spent any time playing the carnival games? I’ve never been interested in games at amusement parks or carnivals but James is the master of the squirt gun game. Seriously, he is lethal. He never loses. He has no shame hopping into other people’s games and never fails to walk away with a prize. Seriously, it’s crazy. He’s crazy. But does anyone know if there’s a water gun game here? You know the one, where you point your squirt gun to a target and try to get your balloon/stuff animal or whatever is used to the top first? It'd be cool if they had one! Anyways, once we’re all done with Dinoland, it’s off to Kali River Rapids for our 2:15-3:15 fastpasses.

This will be a great way to cool off!

Maybe by now we will be ready for a caffeine boost. My family and I really enjoyed Anandapur Tea Company. It’s hidden away from the main path, and if you’re lucky enough to snatch one of the two small tables down overlooking the water...which is quite possible as it was empty while we visited...it’s an extremely serene, calm, and re-energizing place to spend some down time.

The view is so much nicer in person!

We will head to the 2:45 show of Flights of Wonder. I feel like this show is extremely underrated. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it yet, you have got to! I always duck when the birds fly over my head and it’s never busy- I always get a seat in the first couple rows!

If we’re running late in Dinoland and don’t get to Kali during the early part of our Fastpass window and don’t make the 2:45 show, then we will head over to the Tree of Life first. It’s Tough to be a Bug is a must-do! Then we would go to the 3:45 show. They actually do a cool little pre-show outside the theater with birds. The last picture with the lady holding the owl is actually part of it. So if we got there around 3:30 that’d totally be fine! But if we make it, then we will head to the Tree of Life right after the show around 3:15.

Up next, time to check the wait times and ride whatever more we’d like or explore more animals! I saw Finding Nemo the Musical last May and I was so tired I almost fell asleep! Nothing against the show, but it’s long. I asked James if he wanted to see it, and he said in all honesty no. But if they have like a 4pm show and we feel like we are done walking around/riding things (doubtful but who knows!) then maybe we will consider it!

After Kali maybe we can book another fastpass too!

We’ll head over to Rainforest Cafe around 5:45.

This here’s my free souvenir cup. I didn’t finish my Brazilian Freeze, so I asked if they had a to-go cup, and I got this beauty. Sure it's a kid's cup, but I honestly loved it. Past tense, because this very morning, March 12th, it got accidentally thrown away. By my dad. It’s okay. No really. He said he’d get it out of the trash..that was already outside. I told him no, no, it’s okay, I’ll get a new one in May. So I shall. RIP my favorite juice cup.

This update is getting much too long. Watch James and I not even follow these plans at all! Who am I kidding though? Of course we will.

After dinner, it’ll probably be time to head over to Rivers of Light. But ya know, I’m not even sure since Disney is totally failing at keeping us informed!

On that note, that about wraps up the plans for the day. We’ll be exhausted by now, two full days in a row, and the next morning we get to sleep in!!!

Well have a good night everybody! Thanks for reading guys!! Two more full days to write about, plus a brief departure day, then I’ll be done with my itineraries!! :cool1:

Welcome all, to Animal Kingdom! Jambo!!! :simba:

My favorite park!

I just adore this park. I’m excited for all the changes coming, but also very nervous about how this day will go. You see, River’s of Light will indeed be open. I am BEYOND excited about this. It just upsets me that there’s no time yet. Obviously it’ll be around 8, since it won’t even be dark until then. But can’t Disney release the showtime yet? Or will I have to wait until April 22nd when it opens to find out? 8 would be perfect. We have 6pm dinner reservations at…

This whole not knowing a lot about RoL is killing me. Dinning packages? JUST COME OUT ALREADY! I really hope I can convert our pre-park Tusker House over to one with the package...

Next stop? Dinosaur!! We will wait standby for this, but that’s fine! I LOVE Dinosaur.

We've never been on Dinosaur... we've wanted to go, back last year it was down... :sad2:

We will head to the 2:45 show of Flights of Wonder. I feel like this show is extremely underrated. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it yet, you have got to! I always duck when the birds fly over my head and it’s never busy- I always get a seat in the first couple rows!

We've never seen this... and now I'm thinking about adding it...

Fun plans at AK! We have never done Kali Rapids before because we mostly go in winter time. Maybe we will do it on our upcoming trip, since it will be warmer! We usually skip ITTBAB because I am not a fan of being jabbed in the kidneys or smelling foul smells (I get enough of that changing diapers, thank you!)

I know it is killing you not knowing about ROL/park hours and everything else that comes along with it. It is killing me and we still have a year to go! Hopefully they will come out with something soon.

My favorite park!
Me too!!!

That'd be awesome!! That way you only have to do one table service unless you wanted to do two! How much better are the seats with the dinning package? I wonder if it'd be worth looking into!
We've never been on Dinosaur... we've wanted to go, back last year it was down... :sad2:
Aww man! This will be the year!!!! You guys will love Dinosaur!
We've never seen this... and now I'm thinking about adding it...
Yes definitely! FoW is a really enjoyable show. A great place to get off your feet, and like everything at AK it is very educational!

Hahaha I don't think I told James about this yet- and I don't plan on it!!! I always sit on the edge of my seat to avoid this! The smell is horrible...not as bad as diapers though!!! Yes definitely try Kali next March!! If I have to wait till April 22nd to hear about showtimes for RoL I'll just..just....:sad2::sad1::sad: (A bit dramatic, huh?)

The sad part is, there's still so many song's I would have liked to add. But 2.5 hours is perfect. We listen to it whenever we can. It'll be on as we pack, in the car, on the airplane, and in the hotel as we get ready every morning! I made it through google music so it's on my Chromebook and my phone. We just need to plug our headphones in on the airplane!

Have a magical Disney day everyone!!!

Ok... I am the master of the water-squirting games, or at least I am if my husband isn't playing. I have won so many incredible stuffed animals (a monkey dressed as Elvis, a hot pink crab with glasses, etc.) when I play against friends or strangers, but when D plays he ALWAYS wins. He still lets me pick the prize, though.

Okay, AK was my least favorite park last time. First of all, I went into it with a not-so-great attitude because I don't really enjoy zoos (I know now - it's not a zoo). What cemented my ranking was 100% due to how hot it was and a bit of inefficient FP planning. We kept going back and forth between Dinoland USA and EE. When it was time to ride Dinosaur, I had an actual meltdown (albeit a grownup, discreet one) because I could not face waiting in another outside line. (I know it's mostly indoors, it just wasn't that day.) Still, I had a blast on EE and Primeval Whirl and KS and ITTBAB. I even liked Flights of Wonder - and I HATE birds!! Imagine my surprise when they started talking about the nighttime attractions and I perked up! I started planning out better routes to avoid backtracking too much and adding in shows to beat the heat. We almost ended up with 4 half-day trips to AK over the whole trip - which has been scaled back to two half-days and third shorter visit for RoL purposes.

Your play list makes me happy. We got my SIL a 4 disc set of Disney Classics before we went on our trip in 2014. The third disc is all music from the parks - it's so awesome!

I am also super frustrated about the RoL thing. AK is closing at 5pm when I go, which is nowhere near dark. I'll be SO disappointed if they don't show this when we're there. It's bad enough with Wishes not showing at all. I'm not sure why Wishes isn't being shown. Some people say it's a cost savings to off-set the money suck that is Disney Shanghai. HalloWishes only happens during the Halloween party (it's AWESOME) but we won't be going to the Halloween party and I don't know if they'll be showing it either. That would completely suck if they didn't. HalloWishes and the parade (and I'm not a big parade person) are the highlights of the Halloween party.

I think seeing Finding Nemo The Muscial once is enough. It is waaay to long.

So sorry about your souvie cup! I hope that you get another one.

I love that you have a playlist. Having a soundtrack in the background makes awesome things even more awesome. I listen to the 4 parks, 1 World CD all the time in the car. It's the little things!

Your playlist looks great! We have a couple Disney mixed CDs that play nonstop in the car. DD1 has to listen to her princess songs! We also have a Disney Pandora station that we listen to whenever we do housework or we are just playing. Too bad whenever I sing the Disney songs, animals don't come and help me clean!!!

Awww that's so sweet of your husband! Those stuffed animals sound awesome! I'm just plain bad at those games to be honest. I don't even play because I'm such a sore loser....

I'm so glad that Animal Kingdom is growing on you!! Half days will definitely make it more enjoyable. I'm sorry about the adult meltdown too! Whenever James senses one of those coming with me, he's like whoa whoa calm down everything will be alright. Haha he puts up with me so well! I hope you give Dinosaur another try!! :D

That sounds awesome!!!!!! I need that in my life!!! Disney music makes any moment magical.

Hmm my hopes is that they just haven't extended the hours yet. But come April 22nd they should! How do they just not show Wishes at Disney World to save for Shanghai Disney?!?! While I think it's cool that Disney is expanding across the world, they can't cut corners to make it happen. No way!
I agree with Finding Nemo Musical...what's funny is 40 minutes wouldn't be too much for say, FOtLK, or Beauty and the Beast in Hollywood Studios. I love those shows and sometimes wish they were longer. But Nemo just wasn't that good in my opinion, and my entire family. Maybe it's directed more towards kids? I honestly have no idea. :confused3
On my first trip I bought the Fantasmic! soundtrack from a kiosk outside the show, and I'd listen to it constantly! When I got into a car accident just over a year after I got it, I lost all the CDs in my CD changer in my car...and I lost Fantasmic :sad1: I was heartbroken!

Awww I bet you and your daughters dance and sing to all the Disney songs in the car!!! Every Monday afternoon when I babysit I have to pick the kids up from their after-school activities and we always put on my Now That's What I Call Disney cd and jamn out!! Disney Pandora is amazing!! It gave me lots of inspiration for my CD!!! When my sis and I took our trip to Disney a couple years ago she hooked her phone up to her car and we jammed to the Disney Pandora station the whole way there AND back!!
^ YES YES YES YES!!!! Those forest creatures are my favorite!!! I adore Snow White and her forest pals! I mean, how cool is that? :hippie:

Rumor has it that they are cutting corners in WDW (cast member hours, Wishes, parades, etc.) to balance out Shanghai Disney's over-budget. It doesn't seem fair, does it?

I'm so sorry about your Fantasmic CD! Are you going to get another one when you go? Or are you going go online and get another copy??

Definitely not fair!

I'm definitely going to see if they still sell the cd this May! I didn't see one last May but I wasn't really looking. I did find it once online but it was pretty expensive!

Hello everyone!!

I have returned with some updates!

For starters, one month from tomorrow we will be heading to Disney!!! IS THIS FOR REAL??? It feels like we just decided to go!! In ways, the wait has been hard. But in other ways, OH MY GOODNESS ONE MONTH FROM TODAY WE WILL BE PACKING AND OFFICIALLY ENTERING VACATION MODE I CAN'T EVEN DEAL WITH THIS EXCITEMENT!

A less-exciting update is this upcoming Monday, April 4th, James is having surgery for his Deviated Septum. He's excited though. But surgery that close to our trip makes me really nervous. He said he will be able to smell all the foods and Disney scents, and that he won't have to blow his nose every few minutes. :D So that is exciting! I'm still nervous though.

An embarrassing update: I FORGOT TO PUT TANGLED ON MY SOUNDTRACK!!! How could I even!!! I just don't know. I will be adding I See the Light, I've Got a Dream, and When Will My Life Begin. I am a huge Tangled fan, and I adore those songs. I have zero excuses as to why I forgot about them. So ashamed :(

A frustrating update: I put in for a week's vacation back in January and it still isn't approved. Either way I won't be at work, but I wish my manager would hurry up with my vacation request. I requested the week of Sunday, May 1st thru Saturday, May 7th. I get 3 paid vacations a year, plus I have to request Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 8th off. The only day I'm not available at work is Mondays so I won't have to worry about that day, but I do have to take both Mondays and the Friday of our vacation off from my babysitting job. That's not a big deal- I already told them. They're huge Disney fans so they understand! It's my manager I'm worried about- I need a lot of time off! Part of me thinks I should work the morning of April 30th but then I'd have to pick James up in Worcester after (he is currently car-less) and we wouldn't get back till nighttime. It all feels too rushed and exhausting. Plus that night we have to stop off at a benefit for one of my best friend's family. Her older sister passed away from cancer back in January and they're raising money for her ongoing medical bills and her children. I'll have to talk to my manager. Maybe next week...I keep putting it off! Last year I worked the night before my trip and it was so stressful.

A happy update: Last week when I went up to visit James, we went to Wal-Mart and got some things for our trip!! This includes snacks, Crystal Light packets, our sunblock spray and face stick and travel sized and regular sized products for the hotel room! We got a bottle of Motrin, and a bottle of pump Softsoap foam handsoap with Yoda on it! The only things left to get is a pack of floss picks (to keep handy in my backpack for after our meals), body wash for me (I stared at all my options for a solid 10 minutes and somehow ended up forgetting to pick one?), gum for the plane rides (planes REALLY upset my head), mints for the backpack (I think gum will melt), and mini M&M tubes. I read it's a good way to store the pennies and quarters for the Penny Press machines. You put two quarters and a penny in a row, and continue the pattern. I'm going to try it!

I think that's all we got, but I plan on snapping some pictures of exactly what we got around mid-April when I start to pack!:yay:

Well, that's all for now! I'll be back maybe tomorrow night or after the weekend to update the trip itinerary!

Also, since tomorrow marks 30 days till departure, any idea when we will receive our Magic Bands?? Since my last two trips we stayed at Shades of Green, I've never had a Magic Band mailed!! I am sooo excited! I read they usually mail them after the 30 day mark?

:jumping1:

But if anyone is interested in a May trip, or just loves looking at Disney pictures, then no harm done!

Don't mind if I do popcorn::
And those are really wonderful pictures
(My sister just told me this week not to expect for them to want to see all my pics from the upcoming trip. That's ok, there's always the TR)

OH MY GOODNESS ONE MONTH FROM TODAY WE WILL BE PACKING AND OFFICIALLY ENTERING VACATION MODE I CAN'T EVEN DEAL WITH THIS EXCITEMENT!

And in appr 1 week I'll be able to say the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad whenever I sing the Disney songs, animals don't come and help me clean!!!

That's what I always say too (and what I tell my mom, I do need to show her that pic though)

By the way, Awesome playlist! LOVE it!
Thank you!!!!

Happy Monday Peoples!!!

I have good news and bad news. Mostly good. But the bad, is/was bad.

The bad news is that I got food poisoning on Saturday night. It was my first time having it, and let me tell you, it is not fun. It was way worse than the stomach bug. James and I went to dinner at a Texas Roadhouse with a couple of friends. I'm the only one who got sick but I did have a different cut of steak so we're guessing that's why. I'm not going to go into details..but let's just say I have never, ever thrown up that much in my life. Every 5 minutes for like two hours straight. Then every hour on the hour after that. Thankfully it's been well over 24 hours since I've thrown up, but I still refuse to eat anything aside from popsicles!

The good news? I get to stay home from work/babysitting and now that I'm feeling a little better I can spend today reading trip reports! YAY!

James is currently awaiting his surgery for his Deviated Septum. He's been in a hospital bed since 8:15 just waiting for his turn. I wish I could be there with him so badly!

Some other good news: Our Magic Bands shipped Saturday morning!! They're expected to arrive here tomorrow. I'm so excited!

I'm starting to get antsy. It's less than a month before our trip, but still so much needs to come together before we leave. I think today I"m going to print out our itineraries and get all of our plans finalized. The only thing we don't have done yet for that would be our Crossroads at the House of Blues reservations. They'll probably open sometime this week. They're currently accepting reservations through Tuesday, April 26th. Which would mean 5 more days till May 1st opens! Once we book dinner for that night, all the plans will be finalized!

Now seems like a good time to give you guys our plans for our next vacation day!! It's gonna be a quick one.

Saturday, May 7th- Rest Day

Although we don't go to any parks today, our plans are still fun-filled! We get to sleep in and then head to Disney Springs. We are in no rush since we don't have anywhere to actually be until 1:30.

Once at DS, we can get coffee at Starbucks and enjoy a nice stroll and go shopping!!! Since we have such a late start, it won't be long before our 1:30 lunch reservation at T-Rex!

Originally we had a dinner at Trail's End booked, but we decided to go T-Rex for a couple reasons. One, when I asked James to look on the Disney website and see which restaurant he wanted to go to, he picked T-Rex. Out of every single one, he asked for T-Rex. I went there on my first trip and I don't remember being too impressed. In fact, I like Rainforest Cafe a LOT better. But as our trip got closer, I kept thinking how it was his one request.

So I figured I'd switch it to see his reaction and man I was right, he was so excited!

Making it a lunch reservation leaves us with one night with no plans during our trip. This means after lunch we can head back to AoA and sit by the pool and get dinner at Landscape of Flavors, and maybe catch whatever movie is going to be playing outside. Then we can be in bed at a decent hour, ready for rope drop the next morning!

Even though it's a mellow day, I am honestly so excited for it.

Well, that's all for this update! Thank you all for reading!!

27 Days till Disney :hyper:

So exciting! I cannot wait till ours get here (we still have a month to customize them :rotfl:), once you get them it feels so REAL!

I'm starting to get antsy.
