May 2016.. Let the planning begin!

I am thinking about a trip the last week of May/first week of June including Memorial Day weekend. What do you guys think the weather will be like? And the crowds?

We might pop over to Universal Studios for a day or two. I wonder which park (WDW vs US/IoA) is busier on Memorial Day weekend.

We are going the first week of May for our Disneymoon! Can't wait! It will be DFs first trips nd he's the most cost conscious person I know so the trip may end up being my gift to us so I don't have to hear him balk at the cost of everything.

Just booked our trip arriving April 30th and departing May 7th. Staying at POFQ. So excited!! We visited WDW last November and did the Christmas party, but I think I enjoy our trips in May better!!

Going May 2016 also! Have been curious about Memorial Day weekend. Was wondering if anyone had experience with crowds during this time and if just skipping the parks during the weekend and going a few days before and after is a better plan?
We were there during this time and I thought crowds were pretty "normal". I can't remember which park we were in on actual Memorial Day off the top of my head but I think you will be fine.

We just got back may 16-23 this year and plan on may 21-28 next year! We drive from Ohio, it was nice to be traveling memorial day weekend and have MD off from work to relax & recover from our very busy vacay!!! Traffic was fine too, had no problems at all.

This week was amazing for us. We somehow did not get rained on at all, though it was pretty cloudy a few days, we missed it! The highest temp (and the only time I looked actually) was 93. That was hot, but we had misting fans which took the edge off & made us all more comfortable. It really was perfect. I'd go anytime in May, I just like that particular week bc of the travel time & Monday off work. It just worked out nice for us.

We just stayed at ASMu family suite. I think next year we will split stay with 3 nights in AoA nemo suite, then finish at FW cabins. There are 5 of us, and we appreciate extra space but deluxe is out of our budget. The family suite was perfect for us.

I'm super excited, and have our itinerary made already. Lol I have not booked yet bc I lost my job a couple weeks after returning home; and I *think* I'm probably getting a new job this week (please say a prayer!!!) that will be just enough to keep the family comfortable & get us back to disney!! :) :)

Hi! We just booked for May 8-14, 2016 at the ASMu family suite. Did you like it? We are also a large family of 5 on a budget, and we don't need a lot of bells and whistles. Did you have any problems getting to the buses or over the the different parks for dinner? This is our first Disneyworld trip and I am ready to join you all in planning!

So tempted to to try and make this work. Our 5 year old loves Star Wars so catching one of the SWW would be awesome. What's holding me back is we will have a 6 month old baby with us. Also whatever we do it will be an extended family vacation and they all want to go to Vegas; which is fine, we can make it into a good family trip. But it's not Disney. Trying to find a deal for May and only option right now is renting DVC right?

We are doing this exact thing. We're planning to stay at Poly. Can't wait!

We stayed here a few years ago and thought it was great. We had a room in Jazz facing the courtyard. It was very nice and convenient to everything. The food court is awesome. You'll have a great time.

Hello! We actually loved the ASMu family suites!! We really did! The resort as a whole was nice, our only minor complaint was for a couple days there was some kind of sewage smell near the baby pool (the top of the guitar) but we couldn't smelm it just a few feet away in the big pool. So not sure what was going on with that. But the busses were great, we tried to catch the 8:45 bus most days and did so. Once it was full and we had to wait on the next but only waited about 5 min- it was 24 hr party day- so they must've had more busses going with the higher crowds. We did share a couple times going home, but it really wasn't a big deal at all. The all stars are literally right next to each other, you can walk to each one without much effort!

The suite itself was perfect for our family. It was so nice to have 2 bathrooms and my husband says he'll never stay in just a standard room- he wants privacy from the kids to get a break, so he insists on the separate bedroom. The kitchen area was nice, just enough to get some easy breakfasts together, and keep snacks, wash out mugs.... We used the shelving to store things- bags & snacks, and whatever else that didn't have a home, it helped keep the room more organized. The kids slept on all the pull outs, they liked them, some nights they didn't even pull them out, just slept on the couch & chair. Lol they are kids, they don't care! Mousekeeping was great, brought fresh towels & soaps each day. They would use my kids disney blankies & stuffed animals to decorate around the room which I thought was cute. The kids started to talk about it on our way home on the busses, wondering where their blankies would be placed that day....they looked forward to it!

We will DEFINITELY stay there again!! Without a doubt! The food court is recently remodeled and nice, with lots of options. My kids enjoyed the arcade too, and both pools. The last couple days, there were tons of beach balls out in the pool, idk if someone brought them and left them or if the resort brought them out, but either way was some cool little disney Magic! My kids loved it! The front desk replaced 2 missing magic bands for us while we were there. We were just really happy with it and felt it was a great value for the money! It was our first trip as well. And we just felt like it was the perfect place to stay. I requested a 3rd floor, landscape view, and that is exactly what they gave us.

Oh and the family suites are in the buildings closest to the guitar pool and the main hall, so it's really the way to go! We were in calypso building 10. It was nice to be right around everything we needed. I took a walk around one night bc I hadn't even seen the rest of the resort at all!!!

We are officially changing our Disney trip from January to May. We are planning a trip the first week of May. I have two little ones and we are so excited about this trip. We are planning on staying at POP. What do the Discounts usually look like for Value resort in May?? Also, is there a May 2016 Facebook group. I am in the January group but would like to join a May group.

We did get a room discount this past May, though I'm not sure what percentage it ended up being? We also got a ticket deal- buy 4 days, 5th was free. This was a MYW package deal.

Ok so I just sat down to get started on my May planning so I started to look for a May 2016 thread, well I found it...and I was the one who started it !lol Lets just say it has been a rough year. I was trying to figure out my adrs dates, fp dates, and what the heck is up with the Poly. As well as what discounts are floating around, We were booked for the GF this Aug because of Poly issues, but who knows by next spring? Anyhow I have alot to work out but I am thrilled to be back in good health, and ready to plan!!!!

We are looking at May 2016 for our Honeymoon, would really love to stay at BC or YC depending on the discounts.

So, what are the odds that they release room discounts in May? We stayed 2 nights at the Pop in May 2013 and I vaguely remember there being a discount. Do they typically offer a discount in May? When would it be released?

Just booked May 8-13 at POP, but We are pretty flexible with timing and could move it around for the right discount. :) My daughter will be 5, and it will just be the two of us--first post-divorce and also first time in a very long time not being a DVC member, so I'm nervous about the downgrade in accommodations. Trying to do a cheap trip... We have a couple of old myw tickets with three park days and a bunch of water park days.

Grrrr my husband is saying he wants to try off property. I really wanted to do my split stay plan. But for the sake of my marriage, , I guess I'll try it bc off property disney is better than NO disney!!! And I would like to try it, I was just hoping it would be down the road, after trying more disney properties.....so here I go, to research $100 or less per night options..... Carpe diem!!!
