May 2016 Check in!

We are going May 21-28 and staying at BWPPI. We have a beach day and a day in Hollywood planned and 4.5 days in the parks. Also, we are taking along my parents who love Disney but have never been to California, just WDW. I am guessing the 24 hour event, if they have it, will be May 27, so that's the day we'll go to the beach. I'm a bit worried about grad nights... two of our park days will be grad nights. But, this is the week that works best for all of us. I plan to book PTN package one night and WOC package the other night to hopefully alleviate the effect a bit (nice, quiet dinner and then separate area to view shows). Any other tips to survive grad nights?

Im also concerned about Grad nights. I know nothing about it, I've just heard it can get crazy. We've never been in May so I have no idea what to expect.

Grad nights are also two of the nights we are there. Hopefully it will be ok. I'm a substitute teacher and I have a senior so I'm hoping I'll have some tolerance.

Oh no!! So glad you guys are able to go back and make a bad memory turn into a magical one! Fingers crossed that everyone stays nice and healthy!

Thank you! We did Universal Orlando over New Years and I was Queen Hand Sanitizer, lol! I'm not normally a germaphobe, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to avoid whatever the heck he came down with. We'll be doing the same in DL this spring!

Going for the Tinkerbell half! Doing three park days May 8-11 likely. Probably staying at Camelot unless I find a better deal. We were there at Christmas and between rain and crowds it was not horrible but definitely not best trip ever. Hoping for no rain.

Im sure it will go smoothly and that you guys will have a blast! I had really only been to WDW until a couple years ago and since its so much smaller its pretty easy to get the lay of the land and the schedule down. Have FUN!

For sure! At least researching and forum stalking helps pass the time while keeping the excitement! I don't know where id be with my stress levels of planning if it wasn't for these boards!

Checking in ..... I'll be there April 28th - May 4th. I'll probably do a "check in" on the April & Dapper Day. Taking my Mom, celebrating her 86th birthday. We're going for Dapper Days and doing a split stay 3 nights DGC & 3 night DLH.
Also, joining us will be my sister & 3 cousins. 2 cousins have not been since 1980 and 1 cousin this will be her first visit. My Mom & sister have not been to Disneyland for 8 years. This will be an adults only trip, which feels very odd for me.

I'm the tour guide and planner for our group.
Mom wants to have lunch at Club 33, I've promised her lunch at the Blue Bayou (sorry Mom, that's as close to Club 33 as I can get).

Hurray for May! In honor of my 1,000th post on the DISboards, I am happy to say that our May Memorial Day trip is booked! We will be there May 27-30, staying at Hojo's. I'm hoping that the Season of the Force stuff will still be happening!

We wil be there 17th May - 21st May. Staying at Paradise Pier for 1 night then over the road at Dessert Palms Hotel for 3 nights. Can't wait!!!!! It's our 2nd visit

Grad night are parties for graduates in the area. It's my understanding that these parties are supposed to be at DCA at night but their attendance at both parks is noticeable. Some say they are obnoxious and others day they aren't that noticeable.

Yay add me to the May check in list We'll be there 5/28 leaving 6/1 staying at Castle Inn! Got a sweet deal on Alaska Air round trip from PDX to SNA for $122.20!! Then got 4 nights at Castle Inn for $377, then got a rental car for 5 days for $111. I'll be getting my 5 day park hoppers for $283.50 each for adult. So for 4 nights/5 days it's less than $570 each!! So excited it'll be my mom, me & my 10 year old dd this time! Birthday trip for mom, we are so excited. Can't believe the deal either
