May 2014!!!!

I didn't see any special Mother's Day things when we were there this year except they were handing out roses or carnations at the park gates.

I think that House of Blues has some type of brunch, not sure if it is for Mother's Day specifically, or if it's just a Sunday brunch.

What we do is just pick what I want to do that day! This year we went to Epcot. Dinner was actually not something that I chose, but it just worked into our itinerary that day the best, so it was fine. The year before, we went to MK in the morning, Epcot afternoon, and back to MK with dinner at Crystal Palace.

Mother's day is awesome at Disney World, even when it's not necessarily a mom-themed day! 2014 will be my 4th mother's day in Disney (6th MD overall)!

Starting my countdown for when we can book our trip for BLT May 25, 2014. It'll be our first time going HOME. Anyone else visiting next May? We're hoping the new mine cart will be open and haven't been since October so we're excited to see the new Fantasyland!!

We are taking family May 16-23! DH, DD, DS, DDIL, equally Darling MIL, SIL, BIL, & BIL. Wyndham owners....Staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. First trip was Dec of 2011. Enjoyed it, but didn't realize until AFTER that my pacemaker was malfunctioning. Was tired all the time....hope to feel better and have the fun I missed during this time around!

The group is private, so no one will see what you are posting, but people CAN see that you are in the group. I had it secret for a while, but the issue then is that no one can find the group (turns out even with the direct link, facebook doesn't allow you to see that the group even exists unless you are a member).

Wow that is crazy! Were there any other side effects other than being tired? Glad you found out the problem and had it fixed!

Hi! My family will be going to Disney in May too. We booked the Poly and I am hoping some discounts come out to lower the rate. I have read that the pool is heated but does anyone know if it will really be warm enough to swim in when we are there?

We were booked for early February but due to on going medical treatment decided to reschedule for May 1 to May 10. We will be staying at Pop. We have not been to the world since 2000. This will be DD11 first time. Can't wait.

It will be plenty warm even hot if its a normal May. Uppers 80s during the day. However, not sure if Poly pool will be open in May as construction is supposed to begin next month apparently.

It will be hot, to sweltering in May in FL...humidity at its finest. It will most definitely be warm enough to swim!

Yay for going in May! If the construction makes you nervous just wait a bit and see what actually happens but have a backup resort in mind in case you don't like what is going on.

Hi everyone!!

We were planning our 2nd trip in January for my daughter's birthday but work wise it doesn't seem to work. Bummer. For our first trip I think we hit the jackpot going in January. It was probably one of the BEST trips we've taken. So now we are looking at May 3-9. Prices are a obviously more expensive than January but I plan on spending much more time at the resort so it will have to be the trade off. In January we didn't spend any time at PORFQ and the last day I was so dissapointed.Right now I have priced AAA room only rates at 10% off for CBR. That's it. Didn't book anything yet. But it's better than nothing I guess.

Sorry I'm rambling. Can I blame it on the glass of wine I'm having right now. woo hoo!! Glad to be a part of this group.

The construction will be in full swing by may! The pool is closing in march and no opening for close to a year!
They will be shuttling people to the GF pool instead,
If you have not read it already I suggest going on the resorts threads as they have a lot if info for the Poly construction.

We stay there at the end if the month and construction had already started

Looks like the main pool will be closed. It's scheduled to close in March for 8-12 months. The construction walls have already gone up around some areas in the resort. Sorry

We are heading to WDW in May for our dd's surprise graduation trip. I haven't booked yet since I'm holding out for some kind of discount. Would love to stay at WL but not sure we can swing it. We will probably end up staying at PoFQ if there are discounts. Now to find some decent airfare...
