May 2014 Discout Watch

Yeah all at CBR. We went to the CSR and walked around this past trip and thought it was very pretty. With the change in the food court, there's a possibility that we'll change over next trip. Lacey & Jesse, and possibily his parents, are going with us in May, 2014 and want to stay at the CBR so we'll stick with it for now. We aren't breakfast eaters and often have an early lunch and then a sit-down dinner every evening. Sometimes, we use a snack credit/sometimes not. Our dates are May 24th to June 7th. Any chance we will be there at the same time?

Oh my goodness we leave the 23rd at 8pm! :(. Normally we couldn't go that early in May but DD13 is graduating eighth grade 2 weeks earlier than the normal school ending time.

We'll juuuuuust miss you guys. Wow! I didn't know that the 8th graders got out earlier than the others. Lucky kids!

I am going in May too. Normal we stay DVC but out of points :( So going to stay value. Waiting for AP room only or anything better.

Wow, what a great thread. I'm trying to book our vacation for the end of May. Step son to be graduates high school May 24 so we are headed south for some fun.

Couple of questions I had reading through 17 pages here, if anyone could help a newbie. LOL

1. How does one go about getting their name in the "pool" to receive a possible PIN?
2. When you book and use a PIN or discount, do you have to pay in full or is there a deposit amount?
3. How do you subscribe to this thread? I can't find anything.

I know I won't be needing the dinner option as I can't even imagine spending more than $20 for myself a day on food. We plan on fixing breakfast and I don't eat meals during the day here at home, so a snack here and there will be plenty of food for me.

Thanks for all your great insights!

:welcome:

Have a great trip!

1. As I understand it know one knows how they choose who gets a pin, but signing up for the free DVD on the official website, and registering on their website is a great place to start.
2. If you book and later get a pin or even if a general discount comes out you can call Disney and have it applied, even if you have paid in full, they will refund the difference.
3.look in the "thread tools" drop down box there should be an option to subscribe, or if using the mobile app click the box with an arrow at the upper right hand corner.

Subscribing! Already have our package booked, but will gladly take any discounts or offers!

Just means more spending money :thumbsup2

Booked our dining this morning...got everything we wanted!

Now, continuing the wait for discounts!!!!

Subscribing...2 friends and I are hoping to go mid to late May....last time I went was May 2011 and we got free dining. I'm really hoping for that as we would like to have a couple of nice meals, but being college students it will be difficult to budget for that.

If not, I'll take a room discount! Hoping we can book just after Christmas. :goodvibes Any idea when Free Dining might come out for May?

Me too! I'll be there May 5-9. I got everything at almost the exact times I wanted! However why did I only have to give a credit card for Cali Grill? I thought it was now required for all table service restaurants? Have I misunderstood that ? :confused3

I'm waiting for room only discounts or a better rate at the Dolphin. I know we want to stay in the Epcot area, our fav.

I thought so too, but I only had to do a CC for BOG, Crystal Palace, and Ohana.

I posted on the restaurant board last night and was told that Disney had made an announcement last week that this new dining policy was being delayed. Speculation was that there was already confusion over the roll out of FP+ and magic bands so they didn't want another issue to deal with.

I totally missed the announcement of delay so was surprised not to be asked for cc, but soooo happy not to feel all that pressure. We don't usually change our dining reservations unless weather effects our park touring schedule.

While I agreed (mostly) with the new cancellation policy, I do hope this is true!

I'm thinking about changing my trip from June 7 - 13 to the week of Memorial Day, likely May 24 - 30. Does anyone know if Memorial Day week has been excluded from discounts in the past?

The majority of our trips have included Memorial Day and it was included in the special offers that we have taken advantage of.
