May 2014 Discout Watch

Not trying to get anyone's hopes up but over on Facebook some are speculating that a new free dining offer will be coming up that will include "Spring" dates. When I asked about specific dates someone said that they are guessing April 13th to June 13th.

Not tying to get anyone's hopes up...well ya just did THANKS!!! ;)

So, do you mean a FD pin code, which I am unlikely to receive, or a real special?

This is my question as well : ) We are supposed to go on June 17th, but would happily adjust dates to hit FD!

To the general public. All just rumors right now. To be quite honest, I believe that it's just a rumor because I've only seen free dining once for our May dates and that was several years ago and had a very narrow window. Having said that, it won't stop me from keeping my eyes and ears open. I'd love to see it offered.

Nah, it won't hurt a thing. It'd save us well over $2,000 too. I'm still not going to hold my breath though ('cause that would hurt. :lmao:)

I could see it as a PIN code. One that I wouldn't get : (

I've had April-Mid June Pins for FD in the past, but not last year. Maybe they don't think New Fantasyland will pull as much interest now that millions have "been there done that". Throw me a frickin' bone people!

The pin that I received...the first one evah....included free dining through early March and then % off for certain dates in 2014. I wish that I would get a free dining pin for our travel dates.

Hi all!! This thread has been wonderful!

We have a trip booked May 5th to 17th at POR. Myself (40!!), DH (46), DD(13), and DS (10). We are starting at the HardRock Universal May 2nd, 3rd and 4th Then moving to POR on the 5th for 12 nights.

This is for my 40th B-day!!!:cheer2::woohoo: We have been to the Land twice in the last 4 years and have fallen in love! The kids and DH said they wanted to try DW next. I had said I wanted to turn 40 in Disneyland.....but hey...I love them and being the Mom am used to sacrificing. :rotfl:LOL!!!!!

I really really want to do a split stay. My hope is to do POR May 5th to 11th and move to the BC the 11th to 17th. My issue is convincing DH to change the reservations with hopes there will be some sort of promo we can apply down the road. :rotfl2: I know historically there have been some good discounts in May. I actually would prefer a room only as we are not big eaters. We like to graze and try lots of new things and we tend to split meals, so we feel the DP would be a waste and we would be compelled to overeat to get the full value. QWIM??

Soooo....I am asking for some enablers to assist me! :worship: I want to bite the bullet and change the POR reservation to 6 nights, but include our 10 PH/water parks and more passes. Then add a second room only reservation for Beach Club for the last 6 nights. Then hope for a general public promo to come out by the beginning of the new year. What do y'all think? Am I being too risky?

Oh...wanted to add I did call about a PIN...no dice. Darn!!

If they offer FD for May I will be Kermit flailing like nobody's business.

This will be me booking it before somebody else can snatch up my room.

I'm in the minority here...I am hoping for 35% off for May, that saves me $1488 vs my $1100 food budget.

I NEVER do the dining plan and am pretty spot on with my food budgets.:thumbsup2

Right now I have AAA 15% off a YC Club level room...May 17-23.

My fall back is I will be there in March for Mardi Gras so hoping I can apply a bounceback rate (I did this last year).:dance3::dance3::yay::yay:

Good Luck Everyone!!

Since we are staying for two weeks, a % off for ALL of our dates would save us a lot of money too. But, our pin only went through May 31st so my savings was less than $400. We like the convenience of the dining plan and, according to my figures, we actually do save a little using the plan.

Hopefully, there will be some sort of special offer that you can take advantage of.

Oh and almost forgot....WHO DAT!

You may be in luck as it seems there is a BB for 2014. Don't know the specific dates as the poster just called the BB line and didn't have the flyer with them, but they mentioned that it was for various dates in 2014. I am hoping for May 2014 as well. Guess I will find out when I get to WDW next week.

Who Dat back at ya! 2 weeks?!?!? Nice! are you doing them all at CB? I know you love it there. Have you tried CSR yet? It is our favorite moderate. We actually do not do a sit down meal everyday, split meals and snack our way around Epcot pretty often :) for instance we are there 5 days in March and have one breakfast and one lunch. This trip is just my DD13, Dniece and brother. We also do some walk ups if the mood strikes us. In May, we have 7 days and i am booking 5 meals total. What are your dates?

Good luck! I don't see why they wouldn't offer it. They have been running it for several years now

Yeah all at CBR. We went to the CSR and walked around this past trip and thought it was very pretty. With the change in the food court, there's a possibility that we'll change over next trip. Lacey & Jesse, and possibily his parents, are going with us in May, 2014 and want to stay at the CBR so we'll stick with it for now.

We aren't breakfast eaters and often have an early lunch and then a sit-down dinner every evening. Sometimes, we use a snack credit/sometimes not.

Our dates are May 24th to June 7th. Any chance we will be there at the same time?
