Has anyone seen any good rates for minivans?

Rates have been shifting not only daily, but at different times during the day...the rate I got at Dollar two days ago, I found at 8PM. Earlier in the day it had been twice that much. I had resorted to checking three times a day. It finally paid off. I would suggest you doing the same.
Im still looking twice a day even though I got a spectacular rate, as Im still hopeful to save a few more bucks if something even better falls out of the sky.
Best of luck! if I see Dollar or thrifty drop again, Ill come in here and post immediately.

Are there any good coupons out for Alamo and National for the end of April or early May. I'm there for 17 days but need a minivan for the first part so could split reservations if the savings was worth the hassle. Most coupons I've seen end early April.

Yes, Dollar changes rates constantly so it pays to check frequently to see if your rate has dropped.

Is anyone going 5/17-5/24 and getting any good rates. I realize I am returning car Memorial Day weekend but it keeps giving me a rate of $190 and above even with AAA rate

Why are you looking for a compact? Especially if it is a higher rate. A lot of times the larger cars get better gas mileage anyway.

. No anything with5 seats will work. Compact was cheapest so far

I was able to book a minivan through Alamo for $272 for May 14-22 which is the best price I have gotten so far on a mini van for my dates.

ETA: Of course I just checked dollar this morning and was able to get a city special for $254.

I did not use any coupon codes. I checked the rates and then when the rates came up, I clicked on the check for city special button.

Man, I keep pricing out around $200 for a standard at Dollar from 5/10 - 5/17.

I'm finding the AAA rates are even lower than the City Special. Click here for the AAA codes. Last week I got Lock Low and Go for 59.86/week (before fees) with AAA.

Oh good. Well I saw standard at the time of your post for less than compact. You could do Lock Low and Go on Dollar. You get a compact or larger, they pick the car.

As posted on the April thread, Payless is pretty cheap right now. It is $133 including all fees and taxes for a standard car rental from 5/3 - 5/10. The only down side is that they are off site. You can get slightly lower if you are willing to pay now. Dollar is about $166 for the same rental.
