Yes, if you recall waaaaay back in early May, I made a promise to you all and myself, that I was going to be C_A_L_M for this trip. I never actually push my family as much as I would if it were just me. But this trip, I wanted to really lay back and relax more.
I know Jerry gets frustrated at the end of every Disney trip b/c he thinks I push too much. So this trip was going to be different!! Right?!
The girls truly had a blast at this Pixie playground. And I got one of my absolute favorite photos of the trip.
Elizabeth and I were walking in the Bamboo tunnel, I set up the camera as she ran away from me and then just called her name --SNAP!
More fun
I had to take this photo ... the butterfly from Bambi's Butterfly garden is resting on the sign advertising the Flower and Garden festival. It's amazing how Disney can train even the wildlife to be picture perfect!
Then I left Jerry to watch the girls at the 3rd playground while I went to a kiosk to see what Flower and Garden merchandise they had. Would I get the Mickey Flamingos? No, I decided they were too expensive. They were about $30 or so for just one!! I thought it was that much for 2 of them.
So I walked away and told Jerry about them. He said I should get them if I want them. I talked about it prior to our trip so why not?
Hmmm, I walked back to look at them again. But now the line was soooo long. I considered it my destiny not to get them. Then Rachel said she had to go to the bathroom and Elizabeth needed a diaper change. Well, Rachel and I were quicker than Jerry and Elie ... and guess what? The line was gone. I could purchase them right now with little wait.
decisions, decisions....
Hmmm, I did have the Disney VISA gift card. I did trade a Safeway gift card for $30 into a Disney gift card....
And then I made the mistake of looking into his eyes .... I mean how can you say no to this???
Here they are in my garden. I have them tucked away in my front yard so they aren't visible from the street ("eyesore?") nor would someone try to steal them.
We wandered over to France and saw:
Now my parents were also in Epcot but they think seeing characters is a big waste of time and playgrounds aren't for them. So they went and did the rides and we went back to the Pixar building to see who would be out today. You had to get in rather long lines and the characters kept changing so just b/c a character was there now, doesn't mean you'd see him when it was your turn.
We went back to the shorter line of UP! characters and thanks to the people in front of us, we got to see both Dug and Carl. They were waiting to see Russell, whom we had seen yesterday, so they let us go in front!! Thank you random kind people!! We were the last folks to see Dug and Carl before they switched characters again! God is good -- add that to another blessing!
Rachel and a green army man
Here are the Monsters Inc characters we didn't get to meet (we saw George, the orange guy with the sock yesterday)
Another monster from Monsters Inc.
Now I'm starting to worry. All these monsters we haven't seen yet are going away and I'm thinking, great...they are just going to bring back George, again. UGH.
But to my wonderful surprise -- these guys came out!!! God is good! Add that to another blessing!
I was totally thrilled! Jerry had gone off with Elizabeth who had fallen asleep to hear one of the lectures from Cars 2. The guest speaker was Jay Ward and he talked about how they designed the cars in Cars 2.
Kelly -- I remember the photo of Trent and Sully you sent to Allears! Here is our version:
Rachel loved Boo the best -- and when you gave her a hug she made kissing noises!
I really liked these guys
Then Rachel and I joined up with Jerry in the lecture hall. It was really quite interesting and funny and we both wanted to stay longer. What a rare chance to hear from someone important who worked on the movie. But Elizabeth woke up and alas, a 2 and 5 year old aren't interested in a lecture....even if it is Disney.
