May 2008--Everything's Coming Up Roses -- COMPLETE

Sorry to jump ahead of Marshay, but I couldn't help myself! My friend Monica (Poohtigeey) made window clings for their last trip and they turned out great! If my memory serves me correctly, she bought Crayola window clings and printed designs she made on photoshop onto them on her home printer. If you aren't into photoshop you can certainly find designs over on the design board! :goodvibes

thanks for the info!! I haven't done window clings before...and the way BCV is set up (interior doorways), I won't be doing them for this trip either.

Thanks for all the kind words on the A-B-C book!

Here is the Disney Countdown Calendar I made (only one day late!) for my DD. This was my first time trying an "advent" type calendar. It was fairly easy to do...just took time to get all the pieces cut out.

And here are the characters that are underneath each of the numbers.

That looks great Marshay!!!

When does the countdown start?

Tomorrow??

Yep, we started the countdown today and opened up 2 numbers since I was a day late .... of course I realized after I was done that I put the numbers in 1-30 order and not 30-1 so we are just working from the bottom to the top.

Here is what we did today (Mickey and Goofy)

And my original thought was to just fold the flaps, but DH suggested I tear them off, and DD really liked that part! Needless to say, she wanted to do all of them and had a mini-tantrum b/c she couldn't do them all like she does a book.

Oh well, it's a concept for her to learn.

I love your countdown calandar, very creative. Kids can be so impatient somtimes.:rotfl:

You have so much talent. I can't even think of things like that to make much less make them.............lol. 28 days and counting.......lol

That is exactly why I have not done a countdown with DS yet, I know he would pull them all off when I was not looking or do the tantrum thing

:rotfl:

Thanks for all the compliments!

So I went to www. touring plans . com* and looked at their Crowd Calendar for May and also their Shortest/Longest Wait Calendar to see how it matches up with my schedule. Of course, these are just generalizations on crowds but so far I picked mostly good days and parks...only have two days where I'm supposed to be in the "longest waits" and I can change one of them, the other I can't since I have a lunch ADR.

Also UG says for May 3-12, it will be semi-crowded...with a 1 being not crowded and a 10 being crowded...so far our days are 5-7. Meaning we'll be waiting 45-74 minutes on average (the chart starts at 14 minutes though even for a #1)

If you don't use/have the UG, you can't access all the crowd calendar...so you can do what I did -- go to the library, borrow the book, use the special passwords in the book to access the website! (or PM me!);)

(note the web address above is not correct...since UG is not a "sponsor" of Disboards, it won't let me type out the address...so I had to add spaces between the words.

Love, we've been looking to find the material to make our own window clings for our October trip. Where do you get that stuff at and what is it called? We were "hoping" to get it in sheets of lime green and cut out a bunch of mickey heads to put on our camper but we haven't been able to find anything like that. Any help you can give me would really be appreciated Love!!!

thanks!

Marshay, I just wanted to tell you that I might not be going to WDW on May 4 because my husband has to have a procedure done right away and we might not be able to get the medical insurance coverage for the trip. The kids are some what upset but I don't think I really understand yet. Enjoy your trip.

Oh, Junebug -- I'm so sorry to hear that. I do hope your DH recovers from his procedure just fine. You certainly don't want to rush his recovery and Disney will always be there. My prayers go to you and your family. I know your kids are upset about the procedure, worried about their dad and of course will miss Disney, too.

Please know that if you have to cancel Disney for your family's health, that is the best thing to do. Although I love Disney, it is not the place to relax and recover.

Keep us updated. :grouphug:

I am glad somebody will get to do this. We are not AP holders and we will be leaving on the 8TH. You will have to give a detailed report on this attraction.

Tell me again how to get my lime green Mickey heads. I have read through and for some reason cannot find the post .

Countdown looking much better............21days 18hours and 6minutes.

Go to any Home Depot Paint Section and grab the Alien Green paint sample in the shape of a Mickey head. Then decorate however you want -- just put "racefanof88" on it or anything else. Iif they don't have alien green, you can grab the other green one...

Very cool! So do you know what you're going to do with them yet? Please post a picture when you can.

I'm still working on my Disney ABC book...I like to prepare the pages first and then at my monthly crop, I put them together. I'm currently prepping pages P and Q. I don't think I'm going to get to numbers 1-10, since I have other Disney crafts I want to do!
