Thank you to all who have been so kind to gather us up and create some great future memories!:goodvibes

I was reading a PC cruise report and the person complained that they were unable to get a reservation for Palo. That made me think about going ahead and also booking a dinner there. No problem. But I was surprised that it seemed if I wanted to book a second dinner there, I could have. Not brunch though.

So, with these earthquakes in LA, do we need to worry about flying out of San Diego?
I'm usually not an alarmist, but the things I have been reading sound like
there may be another larger quake there.:scared1:

Now I absolutely hate these earthquakes but all this recent activity is actually normal activity. They are saying we have actually been fortunate to not have had so much activity over the last 10 years or so. So this is all normal. I wouldn't carry any concern at all!

I'm working on a costume, to be like the redhead from the potc ride. DH has a Jack Sparrow costume that he made for the last cruise by going to the goodwill and ripping the arms off of a jacket...sadly we had enough pirate gear to pretty much totally outfit him other than that, lol! I wish I had taken a photo of the before, I took a dress from the goodwill and am taking it apart and remaking it, the bodice will be made from an old fitted T...trying to make things easier on myself :) Anyway I was just curious how many other cruisers will be in costume :joker: For DS I think I'll just put him in a cute pirate themed outfit, since he's very picky about hats and scratchy things and he'll just be 2 when we sail.

We are planning to dress up for pirate night!

Sorry for the late reply. I am not on here very often.

Earthquakes in California are a normal everyday occurance here. Most of them you just don't feel. I wouldn't be worried at all. As large as this one was, there was very little damage. Just knocked some stuff off the shelves. From a California girl who felt the 5.1! The news make them sound so much worse than they really are.

I dressed up in Pirate gear for 11 years, a do rag and a t-shirt is about the most I will do anymore. But I will be talking like a pirate.

Thank you both. I'm glad that you 2 are all right. I forgot that we have Californians with us.:goodvibes

As a native Californian these quakes don't bother me bit. If they happen they happen nothing I can do about thus I do not live in fear of them. Think about for a sec. We are going to cruise up the Pacific plate. At any time we are coming up north after our transit of the canal there could be a major right under the ship. Now is this making me second guess my trip. Nope. That's just the way my weird little mind thinks.

Now that I know more about walking on the ship, you can change my distance to 5 miles a day (not 2.5-5)! Thanks!

Hi Jeff:cool1:
Just put my request in on the site. Do I put a separate request in for the DW? In Her name, so she can get a certificate in this way for completion.? Thanks in advance.:firefight

Hi Jeff! We would both like to join the walkers. We hope to do a marathon over the course of the cruise to make room for all the food! I'd probably really need to walk close to 3 marathons for that, but 1 is more realistic.

Thank you!

San Diegan here and we didn't even feel it. We were driving at the time so that's probably why but I didn't even know we had one until my mom messaged me. It was hit or miss down here if you noticed.

We're about 30 miles from Marine Corp Base Pendleton and we feel them doing ordinance training all the time so I probably would have just thought it was that. They've been rocking and rolling our house all week.

I needed to not think about that!!!!

And you don't need to . AT ALL. I could go into the physics of it but the short answer is you will never even know a quake has happened when at sea.

Tsunamis? Don't need to worry about that either.
When the big quake hit down in Chili a few years back we knew we would have a tsunami. To prevent damage we took the boat out of the harbor and sailed around for awhile during the time it was due in our area. We were only a few hundred yards off the beach. We never felt, saw or even sensed a thing. There was some damage inside the harbor and a little flooding of some low lying streets and such but out on the water....Nothing.

There is a great trip report from last year's WBPC cruise (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3118355) which has all the navigators and I was looking at the schedule for crossing the PC they had, it is in this post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=48949410&postcount=234

Do we think that we can expect about the same times for our crossing?

I see that they had a sea day between Cartagena and the Panama Canal, but we will not have that. However, the Disney itinerary so far says that the crossing will be from 6am to 6pm, so that seems to fit with the times they had.

I am thinking about giving some people back home the times to look out for the Disney Wonder on the Panama Canal webcams. :goodvibes
