May 2, 2014 - A WONDERous trip through the Locks WBPC

Fantastic, thanks for the info. I have seen these around, but the name threw me a curve - this is one thing I hope doesn't take like chicken! The ingredients sound fantastic. This calls for some research!

It's a unique taste with coconut. We enjoyed the treats!:thumbsup2

Anyone receive their 20% off for booking onboard the Dream or Fantasy? My boyfriend is on the Dream right now and asked about the 20% off for this cruise and future sales said they hadn't heard of this discount. I'm bummed because I will be on the Fantasy in a few weeks. I'm afraid to wait and book in August when I will be on the Wonder just in case the offer disappears.

Oh no! We were counting on that 20% discount :sad1:

It is only for repositioning cruises. All of the "ads" around the ship, like in the elevators only mention 10% but eventually there was a flyer on the desk regarding the 20% on repositioning cruises.

I hope it still happens for you!

Will also be on the repositioning cruise next May from Miami... also got the Alaska cruise in 4 weeks, which should be fun. Trouble is once you have done one trip you can't keep away can you. Shame we have costs to fly from UK but at least we can usually spend time with daughter who lives in CA and will be on the Alaska cruise with her. Jill and Trevor (excited or what)

Can one get the 20% off if you are already booked thru a TA, won't be back on a cruise until the WBPC next may (which could be 20% off)...

PS. It would be nice if we got the discount on both cruises for the year (WBPC and WBTA).

Not sure on the TA part, but we were able to cancel our WBPC through Russell (the guy at the future cruise desk) and rebook at 20% off.

I think you have to go on another cruise to get another 20% off for the WBTA. Something to consider! ;)

Wow! First post! Welcome :goodvibes

I agree, cruising is difficult to stay away from.
It is a long way to fly for you, but you do have a great bonus once you get here! Two actually.:thumbsup2

I will be sure to ask for repo discount when we cruise in less than 2 weeks!
Thanks Bobbi.:cloud9:

Yes the 20% off is nice. Still I am holding out hope for the airline employee rate.

I am holding out for VGT...it's the only reason to give up our secret porthole...you're lucky to have airline rates!

Hi there

Just letting you know that we may or may not be on this cruise. My dad has just had emergency surgery to save his life. He has a highly aggressive brain tumour and he has been given 6-12 months :(. He of course was the reason why we were contemplating this cruise.

I am absolutely heartbroken at the news and will have to see what happens in the next few months. Devastated.

I am very sorry to hear your news. You'll make it through the PC someday soon & be able to give your Da all the support he needs!

I must have missed something... How are you getting the 20% discount?

Onboard discount for repositioning cruises, hope to see you & your DH next year!

LEXA - WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU! We should win the lottery and go on the September repo as well :) ;) :) ;)

The Wonders Dry Dock should be around Oct. next year. We shall see.

We want a 1 way car rental, Tampa to Miami's port. We will be in Florida for nearly a week before this cruise. DH called Alamo, and they said they do not rent one way. Does anyone have information about one way rentals to the port?

We couldn't find anything for Galveston for this year's cruise, and when we talked to people on the cruise there were definitely people who did just that. :confused3

Help! Thanks!

Bobbi

For this years WBPC I rented one way from Ft. Lauderdale to MIA. Got the free shuttle from the MIA car rental facility to the port all with..............................................................................................Alamo.

Thanks for letting me know. We'll work on Alamo. Do you happen to remember the address of the drop off location? That would help us a lot!

Bobbi

We are all set now as far as Miami!

How about renting a car near the port of San Diego?

I'm glad everyone had such a great time on this year's WBPC. How did all your DIS activities work out? I can't wait for ours! We just got back from a trip to New York and I'm ready to go on another vacation already.

DH is on the Facebook group, he's more chatty than I am so feel free to bug him often. :)

I think Avis has a location that is closest to the port, about 3 long blocks away. The airport is probably only a $10 cab ride from the port if you want to choose which rental company.

Another alternative for one way car rentals:

Enterprise has a $9.99 a day weekend deal. If I remember correctly (I have done it 3X in RI) you get 100 miles per day, max. Car is rented on a Friday at a non-airport location and can be dropped off on Sun or Mon at another (non airport) location as long as it is in the same state.

No prob. I only know it is MIA. They have a car rental facility with a bunch of companies there. Once you drop off your car there is free shuttle up on the 5th floor. It may not have been the 5th floor but I am sure you get the idea. The Alamo people said the free shuttle runs every 30 min to the port. It worked out great. Glad you made your arrangements. As far as San Diego goes. I got no clue what we are doing. Living in LA it really is a pain for me to fly home. We are thinking about just grabbing the train.

I was reading on the Port site that there was a train. I don't think of trains usually. I hope it works for you.
