No alarm clock. Another thing on my list to pack. Bring one if you like to know what time it is when you wake up at 2 a.m........ (I do!)

It's nice to see everyone getting soooo excited!
Don and I went and bought a new suitcase for each of us last weekend, this weekend we'll go get a few new things to wear. Today I'm suppose to go with my friend who is going to "help" me to make a fish extender (I'm sure she'll be more than happy to take over the project within about 4 minutes!!) I'm a bit challenged in the sewing department.
Is most everyone dressing up in pirate wear for the POTC night? Tropical is acceptable too, I think?

We are getting excited at our end also Just went to buy a few things for the trip this morning and I will go to a party store supply tomorrow to get a few pirate things.
The suitcases are coming out this weekend. Woohoo !

My whole family is wearing pirate clothes too. I just bought all my fish extenders. I bought one for each individual since we are not a big group and I did not want to leave anyone out. Does anyone know if I can bring a flat iron?

The forum has calmed down somewhat over the last few days. I think reality is starting to hit us all very hard right now. Fun and games are over. It is time to make those last and final preparations. What clothes to buy? What documents to bring? Are we forgetting something important? There is a lot to think about. No matter, I'm sure it will all work out and everyone will have the time of their lives!

Oh! I just thought of another question. Does anyone know if the Disney picture albums/scrapbooks are reasonably priced on the ship? I was having a hard time finding something today and since it's a special trip, thought it might be fun to get a REAL Disney book.

What electronic devices or appliances are not permitted?

Guests' personal VCRs are not allowed to be brought on board, because of compatibility issues with the stateroom TVs. Stateroom categories 1, 2 and 3 feature video cassette players. Concierge has a wide range of movies available, ranging from those suitable for kids to those for adults. Guests can make arrangements to check out the videos through the concierge staff at no additional charge.

Nintendo/video game consoles are not allowed onboard because of compatibility issues with the stateroom TVs. Children and teens can visit the Oceaneer Lab during Family Time to play games on the Sony Play Station 2 provided there. Guests should check their Personal Navigator for times.

Irons are not permitted onboard due to safety concerns. Irons are available for you to use in the laundry facilities located on decks 2, 6 and 7.

Fluffycat- I just noticed you stated a flat iron. If you meant the type for hair, I think it shouldn't be an issue. If you meant a laundry iron, then no, you can't use one in your room (safety issue).

However, depending on where you are from, a flat iron is also a term for the "hair" modification tool (as my DW pointed out!).
Disney is refering to bringing an IRON (used with an ironing board)......

Hi ! I would love to get the post/thread info for the pirates night image. Then I know that my DH will actually have something piraty on ! I don't think that I would be able to get him to wear anything else.

I need to go to the store for water shoes since I plan on doing the beach several days. I got rash guard shirts for everyone so I do not have to lather as much suntan lotion on my boys. Lands End has some good sales right now. It is so nice to see the suitcases in my room. In seems so real now.

If I had young kids, I would use the ziploc bags too! I think that is a great idea. I couldn't do my own clothes that way though, I change my mind as to what I am wearing too often.

Funny you talk about Lands End, I was looking at their beach shoes just this week, I may break down and buy a pair next week. They have some nice stuff. I can't even find our room for all the suitcases etc.

Hi everyone! I am SO SORRY I've been missing and you have all been waiting on me for a fish extender update! You can kick sand at me at Castaway Cay as punishment. This past month we were in a mad dash to find somewhere to live (long story), but finally we have found somewhere and are moving in 9 days. 9 days!! And then we get on a plane a week later for vacation. Talk about chaos! And here I am doing the fish extender list and I haven't even finished my fish extender. Or even starting packing (for the move OR the cruise!!). Oh, my. What on earth am I thinking? Anyway, I went and skimmed over the last few weeks post and wanted to say a big congrats to those who got upgrades. I am hoping maybe I can pay a little more for a veranda when we get there, but we'll see. So, without further ado, I believe this is the final list for the fish extenders. Here is the post for the pirate shirt; DISigns/subtle Disney. The shirts look like a label from Captain Morgans Rum.....very cute!

Now, regarding the iron concerns......My mom used to use an actual clothes iron to flatten/straighten her hair. "Back in her day, they did not have these fancy gizmos". They did not have them when I was in High School either, all pictures were of me with BIG Frizzy curly hair....this of course was until I became cool and started to carry big cans of hair spray in my person. Crazy watermelon scented stuff! Smelled bad when you got caught in the rain.
