May 2, 2009~~~Magical MAYniacs!~~~ 7 day Western....Updated, April 3,2009!!

Beth-Thank you for your input regarding the late dinner. I do have to agree, I get such a kick out of watching the little ones enjoy Disney, it really adds to the atmosphere! Do you happen to know what time the late shows take place? I know we really want to see some of them.pirate:

Hi AdventureLover
Some recent Navigators are posted online, which will give you a feel for when/where activities are taking place. Here is the website:
I'm still waiting for a current Western Caribbean Navigator.

Nonetheless, here is one page of a Navigator that shows the times for Disney Dreams.
(ok, you can't read this copy - but you can read the one's on the website).
This schedule shows Disney Dreams starts at 6:15pm (early show) and 8:30pm (late show). We try to arrive about 15 to 20 minutes early to the shows to get good seats.

More Tips

While I'm on the subject of Navigators and shows, here are yet more tips that I hope you will find helpful.

NAVIGATORS: As these Navigators tend to be somewhat 'busy' we like to bring along highlighters to color those activities we are interested in attending.

SHOWS: Before each show, the cruise director typically gets onstage and makes all important ship announcements (such as weather concerns, excursion changes, etc.). This is a good time to stay current with what is happening. Of course, if you miss a show you can still catch these announcements on your TV.

Zerog-Again, I thank you for the help!:worship:
If I may ask one more question (which I assume I already know the answer to, but I also know to never assume:rolleyes1) I'm sure if you have the late dinner, the early show would allow you to be finished in time for dinner?:confused3
BTW, Don was up looking over my shoulder at the board a little while ago and read some of the posts and commented on how excited everyone was and I think that really added to it for him. We've never cruised before and he doesn't know what to expect and as several others posted regarding their hubby's, he doesn't really show excitement, well, unless there's fishing involved!!:lmao:

Zerog...I love that you now have all three weather reports on your sig....I will be checking them daily!

Only 38 more days before we leave, and I know that it is even less for at least one more person

The excitement factor is going to start going through the roof!

Hi Laura
The excitement factor is almost beyond words at this point. :yay: Some of us have had these reservations since May of last year. Heck Laura, your first post on page one was done in December 2007. Ashlotte posted next in April. We've finally gotten to a point where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We're soooo close now. It seems like yesterday when I posted the week 13 countdown.

Having been on 2 DCL cruises before, I know what is coming - a week of being treated like kings, queens, princes, and princesses. The ship is beautiful and all the work is done for us (7 days of no cooking, no dishes, no making beds, no cleaning). Ok, we did have to do some laundry. :laundy: The workers are all so friendly - even cabin stewards working on other rooms will smile and tell you hello.

The diffenence for me between our 3 nite and 7 nite cruise was this: The 3-nite cruise went by way too fast. Just as you start to settle in, it is time to get off the ship. The 7-nite cruise makes for a nice long week. You start to think to yourself that you could live like this forever. But then, we would end up like those folks in the movie Wall-E. :sad2:

Anyhow, I tried to squeeze in Key West to the weather reports but I couldn't get all four weather-stickers to fit on one row.

Excited doesn't even begin to cover it...   Our countdown is actually 29 days...we check in to the Grand Floridian on April 22 for a week before the cruise:woohoo:
Oh, and Laura, yesterday I booked Disneyland for June 9-16th...I just couldn't help myself :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
I think I may need alot of therapy :confused3 ....or then again not...;) ;)

The early shows finish way before the second dining. You do not have to rush from the show to the dinning rooms. I believe there is actually 3 different start times for each seating by dinning room. Your time will be the same each night. You will get all that info when you get your dining rotation.

I haven't been on a Disney cruise before, but have been on one cruise to Alaska. An advantage that I found to the late dinner, is that it gives you time to relax and get cleaned up after a day on shore.

I am trying to schedule my flight home, and was wondering when I can reasonably expect to get back to the Orlando Airport after debarkation. I have the Passporter guide and it says the fist debarks at 7:45, and the last by 9:45.

I am planning on getting a rental car (I have a reservation already), so I will need time to get the car and get on the road.

Thanks for any help!

I don't tolerate the heat well. I ordered bandanna coolers from the Vermont Country Store. You can see them online. Here is the description:

Too Hot? Soak a Bandana Cooler to Beat the Heat All Day Long.... Soak this bandana cooler in water for half an hour and enjoy its cooling relief all day.

When you order online, they come in packs of two, and I just need three (one for me, DBF PinkElephants and her DD). When I called to order, they were able to sell me just three, $7.45 each.

I have never used these before, so I can't vouch for them, but figured they were worth a try!

Also, don't forget to bring reusable water bottles!

Hey Spencer - The key to beating the heat is to stay hydrated! You've got the right idea by suggesting water bottles. I've lived in Florida all my life so I should know what I'm talking about. :thumbsup2

Some people drink soda all day long which I guess is fine. However, a bottle of water thrown in from time to time will work miracles. You will have less headaches, less stress, and less fatigue. Dang, I should have been a doctor. LOL.

The heat and humidity will suck you dry in no time. :scared: Let me just finish by saying that I have dark skin but I've gotten a sunburn in February in Florida. So the secret is to apply/reapply the sunblock and drink 'more than enough' water. :cool2:

I'm right with you on the water vs. soda. Soda drinkers beware: many of the sodas have caffeine, which will dehydrate you faster. I am not a big soda drinker. Mainly water and green tea :surfweb:

When we are at home we generally eat late....but we booked early seating and I like watching the little kids too, just hope that it isn't all just little kids eating dinner with us...:goodvibes I decided that early was better because if we eat late, by the time dinner is over I will just want to go to bed. That would mean that we would miss all the evening entertainment.

I have used those bandana's playing golf, they work well.

I want to add that alcohol is also a diuretic so take extra care if you plan to have a few drinks by the pool :drinking1

The trick is to let the ice melt and that adds the water you need :lmao::lmao::lmao:(sorry, had to come up with something smart to say to that....:lmao:)

Hi Everybody
Yesterday we went to Disney Hollywood Studios and Epcot. My DD6 rode the Tower Of Terror for the first time. We also went to see the American Idol Experience. :mic: I think Disney did a great job with this facility; a lot of money was put into it. The lights, stage, and camera's were all top quality. If you are a fan of the show, you will probably enjoy 'the experience.' Even if you don't watch AI on TV, you still won't be disappointed.

Anyhow, my DS9 noticed a hidden mickey. You can't see it in the attached photo, but it is between the 2nd and 3rd light from the right.

As of right now, there is availability for Palo dinner at 9:00 PM on Key West day. Not the most ideal time but its better than nothing. I was able to book this slot and it still shows availability. Please try ASAP if you want a reservation!!
