Hmm some name ideas for us...lets see, I can come up with a few ideas and see what everyone else comes up with (sorry a lot with the MAYniac theme):

The MAYniac Cruisers (since we cruise in may)
The Disney MAYniacs
Magical Mayniacs (since we are cruising on the Magic)

I'd say a good time to meet would be between 2pm and 2:30pm. That way, folks have a chance to eat, swim, and unpack. Also, we won't be rushed by the muster drill warnings.

Yea I was on the WONDER ship and the promenade lounge was nice on it (not sure how different it is on the MAGIC ship). But that was where we would play the Mickey 400 I believe it was So I think it would be a nice spot for our meet

2:30 is a good time I think. 3:00 would cut it to short if people (like myself) start to get chatty-- Can't miss the boat drill. BTW my DD's will be at the meet with me so I hope others bring their children as well. Courtney (DD12) loves little ones and they seem to be drawn to her like a magnet--she would help keep an eye on them.

How about The Magic MAYniacs or MAYniacs--Lost at Sea. Whatever is decided MAYniacs is a must!

I third the promenade lounge for our meet. It's nice and open and we won't have to worry about rain (everyone gasps in horror)

Not sure about gifts though. I like the idea as an ice-breaker, but I'd need some suggestions as to what to buy.

laura001-- Thanks for stepping forward as our "voice". We stayed at the Radisson in one of the new rooms. It was very nice. My only complaint was the shuttle to the port. They didn't have a good system in place. The driver seemed to be picking and chooseing who to put on rather than just going down the list in order.

Anyone know when Southwest will start booking flights for May?

I think it is VERY important to make sure that everyone in this thread is included and that no one feels left out or left behind because they haven't been on the thread for awhile. Cruise meet on first day- Promenade Lounge Do you want 2:00 or 2:30??

Fish Extenders- Information on what a fish extender is, is provided below) Who would like to participate, and how many people in your stateroom?? (list to be tabulated at later date if we have enough people interested)

Toribelle: would you be able to keep track of the votes for us? Once July 29th has come and gone or the majority of people have voted, perhaps you could post that? (Toribelle agreed to keep track for us)

And what you do is each member that decides to participate in the Exchange Buys or makes one of these and has them hung by their stateroom door. Then Everyone gets or makes gifts or brings something special for each person participating in the exchange. You dont have to give much, it isnt to break the bank so to speak. But its something fun and its neat coming back to your room and having a gift or two waiting for you

On the other meet that I am on, They made a list of who all is participating and then their stateroom Numbers and AGE and/or occassion of who all is traveling (in case you want to do something related for gifts) and Each person gets a gift for everyone (whatever you want).

You can assign people to give their gifts on certain days if you want everyone to get a gift each day or if you like or it can be a free for all (meaning you can give them out whenever you want to during the cruise). But each person is supposed to get a gift Also you can either just get gifts for certain ones or you can get gifts for everyone thats participating (depends on what the rules are going to be) for the cruise meet that I am on for October, You must bring something for everyone on the list...about 16 people so far participating on that one. But not every cruiser participates or has to, just whomever would like to

You have some awesome ideas tazgirl!!! The t-shirt idea is probably good for some of us (if you can get my DH to wear one, I'll buy you....oh, I don't even know what it would be worth to see him in a t-shirt .....have to think about that ) Perhaps we could think of something else to go along with that for people that wouldn't wear the t-shirt....buttons, lanyards etc., any ideas?

No problem at all about stepping forward, I'll try to keep things organized and delegate everything....

We have stayed at the Radisson before and loved it there, thanks for the heads up on the shuttle. We will be returning our rental car and then taking the rental shuttle back to the Port, so we won't have to worry. If our friends come down for a few days, they may want to stay right on the beach, so in that case we would have to pick a different hotel, but I really don't think we can do much better than the Radisson.

As for Southwest, I am thinking that it is sometime in November.....just going from memory which sometimes isn't so good...

I forgot to mention that we had voted on a meeting place (last cruise) and the Promenade won. The alternative was outside on deck 10. Many folks worried about rain, while others considered the heat (barring clouds, it WILL be hot on May 2). Even a stiff breeze could be an issue.

I think we'll pass on the T-shirts, but thanks for offering. On the other hand, some families color coordinate.

I'm going to vote for 2:30pm. That'll leave enough time for my kids to eat/swim and for us to unpack our clothes.
