May 18, 2013 MAGIC EBTA - Who is with us?

Oh my goodness, I have to travel to places with less options in hotels. We finally decided on a Barcelona Hotel - The Hotel Montecarlo Barcelona. Got the last superior room. Trying to pick from the top 5 we'd narrowed it down to was painful.

If someone has some really bad insight, please feel free to share otherwise I'm going to cover my ears and stick my head in the sand. Can't stand the thought of trying to do that again. :lmao:

Quite a few we looked at were sold out in the categories we wanted but there's still lots of options if anyone else is still looking. We kept looking at the Casa Camper as it's won awards and #1 on Disboards but it looks kinda quirky. It had 1 room left in each of its categories.

Here's to hoping everyone has a great 2013! Our fireworks are cancelled due to weather so maybe not a great start.

Hello fellow cruisers from the future - 2013 has landed in the UK and I can now officially say we are cruising this year!!!

Happy New Year to you all and see you on the other side!! ;) x

Happy New Year as well, although we are sort of celebrating Christmas today as we were away over Christmas (on a non DCL cruise). 2013 makes it seem even sooner for this cruise now!

Chris,

My DH (dado004) Ross, (he isn't on here much and gets his DIS vicariously through me :confused3) said he would be interested, but had a question about gambling being allowed? If it is allowed, he said he would definitely be interested. Maybe you guys could set up a time to go to Diversions 3 or 4 times and just put it on the calendar :)

Missy in MN

We did it on a previous cruise and the bartenders took good care of us. They knew we were playing for money and they didn't say anything. I have read about others playing with no problems also. I think if we keep it low profile it is better. I'll have to come up with a good time that works for most.

Hi Missy, I can't be sure, but I think you're confusing Goofy39.3 and I. It would be a crazy coincidence to have 2 Goofy Chris-es. :)

I am Adam, not Chris. And hopefully not the goofyist.

Sounds GREAT! I will let DH know :)

Ray - I love Redondo Beach - spent a lot of time there after my grandson was born - our family still has a home there (rented out now). Daughter is now in San Diego - I miss Redondo!

Happy New Year! The first thing we said to each other this morning was "We're Cruising this year!"

We've decided this morning that we can't miss out on an overnight in Barcelona so we can visit Parc Guell as we missed it on our first visit and a return to the Hard Rock Cafe so we are on the lookout for a hotel for the night that is close to Las Ramblas - does anyone have any recommendations from their research? This is a somewhat last minute decision for us!

For those who have been asking about the Funchal Toboggan Ride ... take a peak at this You Tube video (not mine). I found it interesting that you are on active streets ... with cars parked on the side of the road, and cars passing you (each way). Seems very intriguing! Part of me wants to do it immediately, while another part of me suggests I double check my common sense! :confused3

Sorry but I have to post 10 messages so I can send a personal message to get on the FE list.

To get to ten posts, merely post a series of messages, each containing a short tidbit of information. As an example, separate posts might include:

1) First names of each adult in your travel party, and whether you are traveling with kids
2) If you have sailed on any non-Disney cruises before (if so, name the ship and approximate sail date(s)
3) If you have sailed on any DCL cruises before (if so, name the ship and approximate sail date(s)
4) Ports of call you have enjoyed on previous cruises
5) Any special event you are celebrating on this cruise (if none - have you celebrated any event on previous cruises)
6) How are you getting to Galveston? If you care to share the airline, and approximate departure / arrival time. Sometimes, you are able to meet-n-greet fellow cruisers either at your departure airport, or upon arrival at Galveston
7) Are you staying overnight at Houston or Galveston? If so (and if you care), which hotel? Again ... for possible meet-n-greet purposes.
8) Are you flying home directly after Arrival in Barcelona ... or staying in Europe ... going to Euro-Disney?

You need not reveal specific information if you do not care to do so. The whole idea is to introduce yourself to others (with small bits of information), while building up your post count to 10! :woohoo:

Adam, Thanks. Sorry about the confusion :confused3 Just excited, or maybe I need to start wearing my glasses more often :lmao:

Can't wait to meet you, and maybe join in a game of poker myself :) And there isn't anything wrong being "goofyist" life can be more fun that way :)

I noticed you are in the Minneapolis area? Where are you? We are South of the River.

We live in 35 miles west of the city, but I work in Minneapolis.

I think my common sense is overriding my sense of adventure. It looks absurdly crazy... Whoever thought it would be a great thing to try in the first place I wonder? :confused3

I agree! Some of the people at our dinner table did it on the last EBTA and absolutely loved it. Honestly though, I think it would scare me to death :scared1:

It's not like a Disney ride that has safety features, you just GO!
