May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

Ok, I'll apologize ahead of time.

I am looking for car (limo) service from Barcelona port to downtown Hilton. Recommendations?

We are only interested in going to Parc Guell on the hop-on hop-off bus. Any preference for the east-west or north-south busses? They are the same price and I can't remember which one we went on last time.

Thanks, Jennifer

We are using Barcelona Day tours for out trip from the ship to the Hesperia Tower Hotel.

On Viator, it is the North-South route.

I've booked through ZIP Transfers but I haven't used them yet so have no idea if they will leave me stranded at the port.

Hope not as we have used Barcelona Day tours in the past without any difficulties. Do you have an email confirmation with phone numbers etc.?

Yes I do have confirmation and a voucher. Trouble is they tell me they will meet me IN the port. How am I gonna find them among 2000 ish other people...

What they usually do is hold up a sign with your name on it and you find the driver. Now I haven't done this in Barcelona so maybe someone will chime in and tell us how it is done.

OK, I imagine that I'm getting obsessive.... but I've got a file folder on Disney Cruises we may be interested in (EBA, WBTA, WBPC, EBPC, and Alaska) and what they are going for $$$$ as of May first. I will be a pest at the booking desk (hey-- we have 14 days, right?) and try to maneuver the best deal. I am liking the possible 20% off; but since DH just **needed** space on this cruise <me screaming>:crazy2::scared: and booked a 4A --FOR THE TWO OF US!!!!, I'm angling for smaller and cheaper next time. Mostly cheaper. Being prepared beforehand with prices is key, I agree, twopeasinonepod!

We booked it for $8077 for a 5A. I know it won't happen, but wouldn't 20% off that would be AWESOME?!?!

I definitely encourage you to book Alaska at 20% off. That is a phenomenal savings! And the cruise was spectacular.

We are using United miles coming back home (actually flying Air Canada back from Frankfurt).

United started letting you book one way tickets (both domestic and international) using miles a little while ago - I think it was when they merged with Continental.

We booked one way back on United (Lufthansa from BCN to FRA, but United back to IAH) with miles and was only 30,000 per person and $74. Rock on!

I decided that buying a converter would be way more expensive than just buying a new travel flat iron. Found this awesome deal on amazon. Got the 1" version for 82% off!

We've set off on our fantastic journey and what a start. We were sat next to Sean bean on the flight out (he was heading to New Orleans to film wicked blood) it certainly put Helen's blood pressure up as she fancies the pants off him. Got settled at the Hyatt regency in Dallas and had a fantastic day seeing the sights in Dallas with Mandy, Curt & the girls (thanks guys) with the added bonus of touring the Southwest Airlines HQ. Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing southfork

What's the Hyatt Regency Like - I am staying there on the 17th.

And I thought Sean Bean was beheaded and had his head on a spike outside Kings Landing? :)

We're at the Hyatt at DFW and its great. Got a fabulous rate through www.aa.com (£60 a night where Expedia, lastminute etc were quoting £150 a night) the whole airport complex is a bit of a nightmare to navigate, it took us over an hour to get from car rental to the hotel this evening and we could see the hotel from the hire place and had a sat nav!!!!

As for Sean Bean I think he's died in nearly everything he's appeared in ... But I can say he's alive and kicking and a thoroughly nice guy

me too..a rt is cheaper than a 1 way air flight ..so since I am going on the WBTA 2014, I figured it was cheaper to book the EBTA 2014 too..

How is that for rationalization?? Plus since I am taking Son#1 on this trip, to make it even I need to take son #2 on the next..::yes::LOL

LOVE IT!!!!!! You get the award for rationalization....:hyper:

:sad2: Unfortunately, the Alaska trips don't show up as 20% off. Sad.:sad2:

Wait a sec, on the 20% off flyer, it says "valid on new bookings only". Does that mean I can't rebook our WBPC with this discount? I thought people did that all the time?

Ahh - I'm hiring a car there too - What was the problem? Is there any advice you can give me as I have so little time (I fly in at 4pm, hire a car until jetlag kicks in and I fall asleep preferably not at the wheel) - An hour delay would kill me I think - On the map the rental center looks soo close - Could you walk it? I won't have bags with me.

Karen Pendleton and Cubby O'Brian, silly! A lot of us had crushes on Cubby. He was the most obtainable.... like the boy next door.... and Karen was a freckle-face... like a lot of us.

It never made it across the pond I'm afraid....
