May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

I contacted my TA and asked about it as someone else here had gotten her Disney Air info. DCL told him, the TA, that they were working on it that day. Once they had it settled, they sent him the info and he passed it on to me. But right now, if I look at my reservation with www.disneycruise.com it's listed under my reservation summary. I clicked on that, then went to flight, hotel, transfers and clicked on it. Flight details was there as well.

For the luggage fees I asked the TA and he verified. It just depends on what airline you are flying and what their fees are. Our airlines (United and Delta) have fees for domestic flights, but not for international ones. We have two legs that are domestic.

Good luck!
When you fly internationally, you shouldn't have luggage fees on the domestic legs. I never did when flying American to or from Europe, and I don't expect luggage fees on my flights from JFK home post-cruise.

I really, really hope you're right! The asterisk stuff says we'll have fees for the domestic part and the TA said that we will, but you and Mandy have both mentioned that we might not. I really, really hope you guys are right. We always fly Southwest, so I'm not used to the fees. AND I'm used to two bags. :spoiled:

It was hard coming back from Costa Rica this weekend with that 40-lb weight limit we had to pay for. Sooo not used to that! Southwest spoils us :) We read an article that Southwest will be flying to Costa Rica, so I hope it comes true with the upcoming international expansion.

Hi Susan!! Yes - that is an absolutely fabulous rate to not pass up!! I'm the one who took your Palo Brunch request for WBTA :)

Yes - there is a facebook group that we've had around for over a year now (crazy to think of it that way!) and all activities are listed on first page. There are things to get signed up for ASAP as deadlines are nearing super fast (or some may have already passed. Check out page one. :) It will be great to meet you prior to WBTA!! :)

~ Mandy

You might want to start on the first post of this thread. Mandy has got lots of good info up there....

Plus there are links to all of the DIS boards activity planned for this cruise.

Congratulations Henrietta!! That is awesome!!

My Keens are my favorite pair of shoes!!!! They are a hiking/water type shoe. I bought them on clearance back in '06 not knowing anything about the brand, but I thought they'd make a great lake shoe. They turned into my favorite shoe ever and are the only shoe I will wear at WDW! They have seen better days though so for the last 2 years, I've been trying to find an acceptable replacement as in an identical pair or at least same style. They've made that style but I don't like the colors. :( This year they finally came out with a better color, but they made some changes to the style that I don't think I like. :( I did end up buying a completely different style a few weeks ago that I'm hoping to work in for the European part of our trip. They are cute, but I don't know if they will match the comfort of my old ones. Ok, enough about shoes.....

Are we not doing a pub crawl anymore? I was going down the list of things on page one and realized I haven't heard anything else about it and haven't seen BadBrad in a long time.

Also, what's everyone doing for pirate night? Full on pirate garb or no? DH and I have pirate costumes from Halloween a few years ago but DD doesn't. Not sure if I wanted to drag it all with me either so I just wondered what everyone else was doing. pirate:

I would love them to do an international expansion!

Because we're going to be gone for three weeks, we're not packing for any of the extras, such as villains night or pirate night. But I think that a lot of other folks are planning on it :thumbsup2

We are still doing it, and last I knew BadBrad was still onboard for it. I sent a PM but no reply yet -- so if you are seeing this BadBrad, please let us know! :)

We will still have it regardless of who is coordinating. The plan is to do it on a sea day that does *not* have other ticketed DCL events in the afternoon or Pirate/Formal night. Planning is easy - pick a spot/time and move bar to bar every 30 minutes. No sign-up necessary, no coordinating to do with DCL. May be best to pick initial meeting spot and then move according to when they are actually open per the Navigator (we cannot predict that at this time). We had to tweak it last time -- there was a gameplan, but not all were open between 1:00-5:00. That was the timeframe chosen because of dinner/shows.

FYI - changed the Bunco time to 1:00 PM, May 20.

Got it updated on post # 1 :thumbsup2

It might impact some of those attending -- lots of back-to-back activities that day. (Like I am registered for brunch and mixology) but we only need 8-16 to make it work.

I might be too stuffed for bunco, as got Palo bruch that day, and plan on eating my own body weight in food. I might need to be rolled back to my cabin!! :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the Congrats. I appreciate it. :goodvibes

I love Keens too. My favorite are Bali slides. I had a pair that lasted for over 5 years, I literally wore them out. They have traveled everywhere with me. The sole started peeling off last summer so I replaced them. So you will see me in them on the EBTA.

I also love the Jambu brand shoes, very comfortable and some cool, funky styles.

When you fly international you won't have luggage fees for the domestic part.

But then the domestic part should be with the same airline or a partner ( as example: not United for the transatlantic part and Southwest for te domestic part).

And your domestic flight needs to be the same day, if you do a stop-over aka stay a day or a few days in the city when you arrive in the US.

If you just fly home then there is no extra luggage fee (1bag free sometimes 2 bags, depends on airline and class you fly in).

Bags will be labeled to the end destignation but when you arrive in the US you have to pick up your bags after immigrations and declare them, then after costums you hand the bags over and they will be transported to your domestic flight.

Hope this helps!!!

Welcome! How cool that he still enjoys traveling with you! I can only imagine the boys at that age wanting to spread their wings and fly...all the way to the East Coast to get away from me haha.

My soles started coming off my Keens as well but since I couldn't find an identical (or close to) replacement, I bought shoe goo and glued the soles back on. They lasted 2 extra years because of this! :)

Oh how true, it's worse than the disembarkation feeling in my book, you look forward to it for so long and then you tell yourself "I must pace myself" 2 hours later of course and you have slacken the trousers/dress, however you have that over indulged feeling and just need to lie down, for an hour. The above happen to me everytime, apart from Christmas day when we had company and didn't want to look like glutens. Can't wait, might eat in Palo lots of times, that's one of the great things about TA's reservations are easier to get.

I have had some very upsetting news from Alma, the events coordinator I have been working with at DCL about the Champagne Girls event. She called me today to tell me that DCL has raised the price from $20 to $30 per person.

Would every person who has signed up for this event, either post here or PM me to let me know what their position is on paying this much for the event?

I have also posted this information on the FB thread.
